[Viofo A229](https://amzn.to/46TI3w1) This is what I use for front and rear, keep it high in front windshield and forget it’s there till I ever need it
Viofo A229 Plus 2ch. Pretty good bang for the buck. Both front and rears are good quality during the day. Front is fine at night, rear struggles against headlights shining at it and how dirty the rear window is.
I installed a Viofo A229 Plus 2ch, and it was pretty easy. You should honestly stop using AI for asking questions because it rarely knows what it's talking about. I found this video pretty helpful for figuring out how to pop off all the trim pieces: [https://www.reddit.com/r/wrx\_vb/comments/1r04c5z/step\_by\_step\_video\_for\_dashcam\_front\_and\_rear/](https://www.reddit.com/r/wrx_vb/comments/1r04c5z/step_by_step_video_for_dashcam_front_and_rear/) I used a cheapo multimeter to find two empty fuse spots to wire the fuse taps to. Edit: My front camera is mounted right behind the rear view mirror and it does not cause issues with EyeSight. The AI slop you included in your post talks about posting the camera in the zone that the manual says not to - it seems fine with models that have the plastic cowling over them (a nuance that the AI missed). I'll also add that the complexity of the install doesn't really depend on the camera - it's how you want it wired. The fuse-tap style wiring kits aren't super complicated in this car IMO since there are suitable empty spots.
Had the 119S and currently use 229 Duo Plus. Good cams
my VIOFO A229+ 2ch records audio both front facing and rear facing cameras. I have the Viofo A229+ front + rear dashcam for my 2019 ND RF GT-S I have mounts for the rear dashcam for both the A229 and A329 2k 30fps and 2k 60fps that uses the wind deflector as a mount point. The A229 are free to download and 3D print on Maker World I’ll work on getting the A329 mount up on Maker World soon. > https://makerworld.com/en/search/models?keyword=A229 If you don’t have access to a 3D printer I have them up on my store > https://store.edge3dsolutions.com
So I use a VIOFO A229+, I mean it has 2.4-inch screen and there a setting that can show Live Video Source: Front camera / Rear camera / Rear Overlaid / Front Overlaid. So it’s possible that you can look through a 2.4in screen and that you can look at to see behind you. But honestly it’s just too damn small. I would rather turn my head and look behind me. If your interested in a backup camera in a headunit, that has a 7in - 10in screen that would be more ideal.
The donger 10 pin type E non pro version. I installed a VIOFO A229 Plus 2 ch front and rear camera.
