Reddit Reviews:
I like and use the ROVE R2-4K....not fancy, but gets the job done for one front facing camera.
r/Dashcam • Best front facing dash cam for under $200? ->I use the ROVE R2-4K. It's a basic one camera dashcam, but has pretty good resolution. I like that it's easy to stick on the window and take off.
r/Dashcam • Dashcam Recommendations? ->Just swapped my Rove R2-4K for the Viofo A229 Pro and did the install properly. I’ve spent a lot of time researching dashcams before making the switch, and I’ve learned a ton about the market. Dashcams in UAE are getting more popular, and I see many posts recently, so if you have any questions or need advice, I’d be happy to help!
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Changed dash cam from Rove R2-4K to Viofo 229 pro dual channel. Ask me Anything ->Check Rove r2 4k it is very good, but make sure it’s with Starvis 2 sensor. On amazon there is both versions.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Changed dash cam from Rove R2-4K to Viofo 229 pro dual channel. Ask me Anything ->R2 4K have first Starvis IMX 335 sensor, Viofo 229 pro have Starvis 2 IMX 678 front and IMX 675 sensor at the back camera. Video quality on another lever compared to r2 4k. But yeah, I like the app and UI of the Rove much more
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Changed dash cam from Rove R2-4K to Viofo 229 pro dual channel. Ask me Anything ->I bought my r2 4k literally 6 month ago and they had a first starvis… Rove is good, if the Starvis 2 there with IMX 678 then it’s a no brainer. I could install myself which I did with Rove, but now there is no unwanted wire anywhere around and can do parking mode as well since dashcam is hardwired and not from usb
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Changed dash cam from Rove R2-4K to Viofo 229 pro dual channel. Ask me Anything ->I have been using the ROVE 4k for a couple of years. Amazon frequently puts them on sale. I live in KY where last summer it topped 110° and had no issues.
r/Dashcam • What are some good dash cam brands? ->My ROVE R2-4K is still doing great on year 3.
r/Dashcam • Why does literally every dash cam have negative reviews which state the camera fails after several weeks or months? ->The r2 4k, r2 4k pro and the r2 4k dual are three different specs. The dual is the newest specs. Works great love it but the pro isnt as good as the dual.
r/GR86 • Dash cams ->The r2 4k, r2 4k pro and the r2 4k dual are three different specs. The dual is the newest specs. Works great love it but the pro isnt as good as the dual.
r/GR86 • Dash cams ->I have the Rove R2 4K Dual. I spent a lot of time researching. But I know the Dual kit has one of the newest camera specs on the market. That one does not unfortunately. Starvis 2 is important for night quality reading plates. The novatek version also makes a difference. Had no issues with my rove yet
r/GR86 • Dash cams ->The r2 4k, r2 4k pro and the r2 4k dual are three different specs. The dual is the newest specs. Works great love it but the pro isnt as good as the dual.
r/GR86 • Dash cams ->I researched dual dash cams for nearly a week a cpuple months ago. I was originally looking at the Viofo like everyone recommended but after some deep searching of what sensor and versions of novatek are in each. The one I wanted was out of stock. I found Rove R2-4K dual to be one of the newest versions of Sony Starvis 2 and novatek. Much newer than the standard R2-4K and R2-4K Pro. The reason, I do more night driving than day in my car and this matters for capturing license plates at night. They sell a hardware kit for it but I hear Toyota will void electronics warranty if anything happens if you hardwire to the fusebox. But recently I saw they did this to someone who had it wired into the 12v glovebox outlet with the adapter as well (which doesnt give you parking mode). The Haichi kit might be a smarter way to hide it on them but unless you remove everything related prior they will see mounts and your wiring. That being said, having the dash cam is more important that worrying about something going wrong IMO. Revert to stock if you have to take it in for electrical issue and maybe hide stuff during service calls so they dont have an opportunity to take notes :)
r/GR86 • How important is a dashcam? ->Literally (Monday) I just installed a Rover R2-4k. It was a walk in the park to set up and the footage it's capturing even at night is crispy. Amazon has a coupon on it currently that drops it to around $100. I like that it has a screen and physical buttons and the app didn't feel quite as "info skimming" as most of the other $100 4k options.
r/prius • What Dash Cams is everyone using? ->Yeah for sure, the beefier version kept coming up in my hunt for one but I don't do Uber or whatever so I don't need an inside the car cam. Most people get tripped up with the SD cards cause they never need to write to one as quickly as uncompressed 4k video does. While U3 (and higher) rated cards are cheaper than they used to be, they're still more expensive than most average people spend on the ones laying around in some tech drawer we all have. I think this [website](https://www.kingston.com/en/blog/personal-storage/memory-card-speed-classes) is handy for understanding the classification but basically you need a card that is at minimum capable of writing at 30mb/s. 60mb/s would probably be better but Roves own cards are a U3. I'm several drives in and so far I'm very impressed for the price point. I've used to app to both live watch video and download a trip just to see what it looked like. I'm going to make my brother mess with it tomorrow when we're stuck in the car for 2 hours. Otherwise unless it just craps itself in a couple months, I don't think I'll have any complaints.
r/prius • What Dash Cams is everyone using? ->I love it, I did go in about a week later and changed the time loop setting to record in 5 minute incriments. I think it was originally 30 seconds. I also have it set to just start recording over the previous files as well. I figure if I'm in an accident or something I'll pull the files off well before it would risk writing over. It still looks amazing live and takes super clear video. I'm extremely pleased.
r/prius • What Dash Cams is everyone using? ->I got the Rove R2-4K and a polarized lens. It's not fancy, but it works well for what I needed it for. All in, it was $130 with the lens and SD card.
r/MachE • Dash cam recommendations? ->Rove R3 or R2-4K. They use an sd card, but they have Wi-Fi and an app so you can control the camera and download the videos to your phone without removing the card.
r/nissanfrontier • Dash cam recommendations ->I have a Rove R2 – 4K. But forget the dash cams; run whatever you want. But check out Dongar you don’t have to run a bunch of cables. It plugs in the back of your mirror and into the dash cam. Super clean install.
r/f150 • What dashcam are you all using? ->Rove R2-4K. Not super expensive like the fancier ones but also not cheap like the $30-$40 ones I had previously that would maybe last one summer. Has rear cam also. Easy install. Pleased with it for the price.
r/Austin • Learn me on your Austin dashcams. What holds up here? ->My son has the Rove R-2 4k also. It works pretty good but I hate pulling the videos.
r/Camry • What's everyone's go to dashcam? ->I have the ROVE r2-4k front and Rear facing.... my previous came was the same brand but it was only the front facing one. I might take it back out and put back in my car to use as a cabin cam, since I haven't sold it to anyone...
r/uberdrivers • What dash cams do you guys have? ->I don’t have the rear cam but this one works great without impacting Eye Sight and has an easy app ROVE R2-4K Dash Cam Built-in WiFi GPS
r/Crosstrek • Subaru compatible dash cams? ->I’ve been really happy with my Rove R2-4K. You can snag a sale on Amazon for less than $100. Card is extra, and while they “recommend” their brand of card, others work in it. I have one in my truck and car.
r/f150 • Best dash cams ->I use a Rove R2-4K. I love it after 6 months of owning it. it’s great quality for only $99. One thing I really like about it is you can easily pull footage off of it from your phone and save it to your camera roll. If you want something cheap this is the way to go.
r/Camry • What brand Dashcam should I buy ->I have Rove R2-4K. I am satisfied with the quality but mine will randomly turn off when I turn off the car every now and then. This worries me that one day it'll be off when I needed it to be recording.
r/dashcams • Looking for The Best Dash Cam – Recommendations? ->I have the ROVE R2-4K Dash Cam Built-in WiFi GPS. It’s simple with good quality video, and a solid app. I prefer the front only camera, but the Rove store has other models.
r/subaruoutback • Dash Cam Suggestions for 2018 Outback ->I have the Rove R2-4k. It works well.
r/ram_trucks • Dash cam suggestions? ->I bought a ROVE R2 4K on Amazon in December of 2021 and it still works perfectly. I never leave it in my car if it's parked though. I always bring it inside. I tried several other cameras and they all died insanely fast, days, weeks or months, after leaving them in the car.
r/dashcams • How long do dashcams actually last? ->I’ve had zero complaints with my rove r2-4k in murrieta heat for a couple years now.
r/Dashcam • I was about to buy the ROVE R3 when my fiancée told me to check you all out first. Any thoughts on ROVE as I didn’t see much about it on here? ->I have 3 Rove R2-4K cams and they are absolutely amazing. They work great, easy to connect to get videos. Quality is perfect. I know they are $129 on Amazon but they also have a $15 off coupon currently.
r/BuyItForLife • Please help me pick a dashcam under $100! ->I have a Rove R2-4K i bought on amazon that has been solid. You dont need anyone to “install” a dashcam. They just suction cup onto your windshield and get power from a 12v jack (cigarette lighter port), if you want it to look nice use a plastic spudger to route the cable around the head liner and dash paneling
r/Denton • Does anyine have any recommendations for dashcams and where to get one installed? ->rove r2-4k best in business
r/Chandigarh • Recommendations for a good dashcam. ->I bought 2 Rove R2-4K dashcams. It really does shoot in 4K, so the license plates look very sharp and legible. Very impressive for $99/each. Using a 512GB micro sd card gives you about 145 hours of 4K footage. I have used its several times (Capturing a car accident in front of me and catching 2 cars making illegal turns. https://www.amazon.com/R2-4K-Dashboard-Camera-Recorder-Vision/dp/B074JT3698/
r/electriccars • Dashcam recommendation ->Rove 4k for $99 and it really shoots in 4k. License plates are easy to read and night filming is really good too. I have 2. One for the front and one for the rear.
r/VWiD4Owners • A good dash cam for the ID 4 2024? ->I have the Rove 2, front channel only, and I like it. It will record 10-minute loops, it can be hard-wired or run off USB, and it works well. Rove also has really good tech support. I had an issue with one of my 2 cameras and they replaced it, no questions asked. Just sent me a new one and had me send the faulty one back.
r/Dashcam • New teen driver-do I need a rearview camera or just front? ->10 minutes is the longest loop. Otherwise, it is record until the end of storage and then it stops.
r/Dashcam • New teen driver-do I need a rearview camera or just front? ->First and only cams so far - Rove R2-4K. Have one in both my own vehicle and my wife’s vehicle. Coming up on 2 years of having them. Last summer, about a year into owning them, they did both run into some memory card issues. The recommended sd cards were registering as not fast enough. I ended up buying some of their official cards and they’ve worked fine since. It was a little annoying that the cards in question were recommended by Rove themself.
r/Dashcam • Dashcam you use ->Low $100 should do the job. ROVE R2-4K Pro or REDTIGER 4K. I have both on different cars. Clear pics. On my ID4, I used Fuse #52. This is the rear trunk cigarette lighter power. Internet pic shows this #52 as one long Fuse, but it is not. It has two setup option, connect to the upper slot of #52, you will get power only when the car is On. I chose the upper slot setup. Lower slot of #52, then power is always On. YouTube has severals clips that show how to run and hide the cable. Be careful with the rectangular panel next to the door. You have to slide it to the side before pull out so you don't break it. One YouTube guy shows this briefly. It took 30-45 minutes to install front dashcam. I don't install the rear.
r/VWiD4Owners • Dash Cam Installation ->I use the Rove R2 4K Pro camera and have it mounted to the stock of the rearview mirror using a different mount. I hid the cords under the window trim and connected it to the port on the center console. Works great and never have to fiddle around with it. 🌞
r/BroncoSport • Anyone have a dashcam setup they like for their Bronco Sport? ->I have one of these: https://amzn.to/4juNUv5 You'll also need a durable MicroSD card for the video to record to: https://amzn.to/4juNUv5 Keep in mind you need to replace the SD card every 3-5 years. They can only handle so many read/write cycles before they degrade. You can download stuff straight to your phone. It's just powered by USB. If you can charge your phone, you can power a dash cam.
r/urbancarliving • Full-Timers: do you have a dashcam? ->I really like and have the ROVE R3 in my car. I also installed the ROVE R2-4K DUAL in my wife's car and it does a good job. These camera's work best with the hardwire kit. I've recommended the R2 to several friends and so far no complaints.
r/dashcams • Looking for The Best Dash Cam – Recommendations? ->I use rove 42k dual dash cam I like it
r/TwoXPreppers • thoughts on dashcams? ->I have the Rove 4K Dual and it works just fine behind the rear view mirror
r/SubaruForester • What Dashcams are y’all using on your 25 Foresters? ->I recently got the Rove R2 for mine. Works well and I’m pretty happy with it. I haven’t hard wired it. ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam Front... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D6J5B98H?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
r/HyundaiTucson • Can anyone recommend a good dash cam for my Tucson? ->I purchased the R2 4K dual which has the starvis 2 with discount for 339dhs. Rove has more reviews that viofo but still a good brand. Installed the rove myself, hid the wires easily. Lots of guides on it. Just the rear has a wire shown as it needs some lenght to open the rear door given its an suv. Will be more neat for a sedan. No need to pay stupid prices like 1K or more. U can easily manage installation on ur own.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Changed dash cam from Rove R2-4K to Viofo 229 pro dual channel. Ask me Anything ->Nice but still its a hefty price to pay though for all that. Yeah i wasnt referring to your Rove, I specifically mentioned Rove 4k which i purchased that had starvis 2. U can refer to my original comment. For parking mode there is a seperate kit to purchase for the rove that needs hard wiring.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Changed dash cam from Rove R2-4K to Viofo 229 pro dual channel. Ask me Anything ->Using rove front and rear, happy with it so far
r/Camry • What's everyone's go to dashcam? ->Mine is not hardwired https://a.co/d/6n6IaVf
r/Camry • What's everyone's go to dashcam? ->Rove duo 4k front and rear, they are working great for me so far
r/rav4club • Dash Cam Option ->I use the Rove R2-4K Dual for both my Rav4 and Sienna. It’s been great for me.
r/rav4club • Best Dash Cam? ->The A229 pro has been good to me. The app is not great but works. Have one for my daily driver and my wife's car. My other car I've been using the ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam. Micro SD card brand and type is equally important. I didn't use the micro sd card that came with the rove. I tend to stick to the Samsung Evo line or SanDisk High Endurance Video line.
r/Dashcam • What kind of dashcam should I get? ->I'm using a 256GB card (Sandisk High Endurance, item code SDSQQNR-256G-GN6IA) , so I cannot speak to anything larger being supported (but I do see others have). I've had the camera for roughly 7 months now (bought 2 of them on Amazon and with deal of the day discount, got them for $185)and I am really happy with them. The phone app isn't bad but could be better. I still use an older cell phone with the Torque app installed and use the track recorder function (I have an obd2 bluetooth adapter that interfaces with it and I have extra gauges as overlays for it) for a secondary dash cam, but it's nice to have the features of a dash cam with great night vision recording, something that a Galaxy Note 3 phone doesn't do well. 🤣 Overall the A119 is a great dash cam. I have one in my car and have been trying to convince my wife to let me install the second one I bought in her car because these days I really do believe that everyone should have a dash cam in their car. For my Firebird I went with a ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam (front and rear camera) that I'll be installing in the spring. That car already encountered a hit and run when it was parked and I wasn't in it, so I'm a little paranoid about that happening again.
r/Dashcam • Question for owners of VIOFO A119 Mini 2 dash cams ->I got this with the hardwire kit. very nice dashcam and easy to do yourself. took about 45 minutes! https://a.co/d/ijaKqBN
r/Lexus • Aftermarket Dash Cam ->Someone posted the same question a few weeks ago. My past response: I’ve really enjoyed my Rove R2-4k two channel dash cam and would recommend it. It also has the STARVIS 2. It’s still just above $100 on Amazon with a coupon and promotion applied, and for a bonus, you get a 128GB microSD bundled with it.
r/Costco • Is the Type S Dashcam worth the buy? ->Nice wagon. Picked up a Rove R2-4k Dual for my Q5 along with the hardwiring kit. Didn't know Audi offered one.
r/Audi • Dashcams - Audi's or Aftermarket? ->I'll piggy back off what someone else said. Rove R2. Me and the wife both have them in our cars. We like them ALOT! It's like $120 bucks on Amazon, they basically do everything else the competition does. We also bought a generic mirror stem adapter for them. We have it clamped around the rear view mirror. It's flawless. Basically a set it up and leave it situation. Since our 12v plug ins are keyed to power we never have to touch it
r/dashcams • Whats the Best Dash Cam to Buy Right Now? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 ->I tried Viofo and had issues with it. Bought a Rove R2 in 2022 and then upgraded to the Rove R3 that corms with a cabin cam. Hasn’t given me any issues since.
r/Dashcam • Dash cam suggestions ->I have the Rove 2k - 4k and I bought a Redtiger dash cam front with rear on my moms Accord and both dash cams are great! I bought an upgraded SD card (both are using 256 gb) both dashcams can record up to 4k. I had a NEXAR dashcam before going to Rove and had that NEXAR for a year and a half and it randomly just stopped working on me.
r/accord • Best car camera options ->If you want the front with rear cameras I would go with the Redtiger. if you just want the front then go with Rove 2k -4k. Rove is also cheaper (80 bucks) and I think it’s a great investment. Redtiger is currently 130 on Amazon (originally 200). I can’t speak yet on the Redtiger since I just recently got it but since I had the ROVE for almost a year now, I love the camera.
r/accord • Best car camera options ->I use Rove 2k-4k which is around 90 bucks and I got a 128 GB flash drive with it. I love it and no complaints with that device so far
r/Camry • What brand Dashcam should I buy ->Rove 4k but you need a hardwire kit. I'd assume most dashcams that record 24/7 require a hardwire kit.
r/BuyItForLife • Anyone have any recommendations on a good backup camera/ dash camera mirror that records 24/7 ->I rather like my Rove R2. It was $120 and pretty easy to work with and install
r/dashcams • Whats the Best Dash Cam to Buy Right Now? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 ->Rover4k car sits in the sun all day with no windshield shade works fine 2 years in.
r/phoenix • Dashcams that can handle the heat? ->I have a Rove 4k in my truck. I was able to get an accessory plug so it is powered off the rear view mirror; no running of wires. I got the Ford Thinkware dashcam for my wife's Ranger. It wires directly into OBD for continuous power which my Rove doesn't have. However Ford sells an older Thinkware that doesn't have wireless access..... Huge disappointment. There's nothing fancy about the Rove but it wasn't super expensive either
r/f150 • Dash Cam recommendations ->I use rove 4k for work truck. ($75) Blackvue DR970X with 2 battery packs for ICE ($1k+). Cam runs off battery packs which charges thru cig port when the car is running.
r/MachE • What dash cam are you all using for the MachE? ->The ROVE brand sold on Amazon works well. I only have the front facing currently but am thinking about upgrading to [this](https://a.co/d/dPREp0I)
r/SubaruForester • Just get the dash cam ->Yeah, half of these don't connect to WiFi (customer reporting), won't stay on, can't download unless near cam, won't power on, etc. When the reviews of negatives outweighs the positives, I'd be leery of just throwing brands out there... (Walmart? really?) Always do your own home work. I did a google search and looked at all these 'brands' (Especially the Rove R2 and RedTiger)... Just do the research, there is a lot of 'crap' out there. One way to tell; Do the housing on various models all look alike (same batch manufacturer)?
r/dashcams • Best Dashcam? ->
