Underscoring this. I have been hand grinding for years for pourover and recently with my MoccaMaster KBGV. It's not sustainable with 5 am wake ups--so now it's the Drip maker for my first cups of the day. I wanted to do batch grinding and looked at all the contenders including Baratza and Fellow --then I remembered Eureka. I ended up, for my usage case with the Eureka Mignon Filtro Silent. I needed something a bit quieter and had seen this at a friends. I like all the features and versatility and got a good price in the USA. I can change the burrs if I ever get back into chasing the ultimate Espresso but the burrs in these pourover/drip units make a good enough Espresso and for all my other usages--pourover, drip, MoccaPot, aeropress, frenchpress--good to go. Longevity wise the Eureka units just go and go. They are in wide use at commercial establishments globally .
I have a Eureka Mignon Filtro Silent grinder. I only can say, if you're a one grinder person it works for Espresso, it works for pourover, it works for drip. I can't imagine these other grinders wouldn't do the same. I got an Amazon scale (electric) that does Tare and it is a reliable weight. I tested with clock weights which are very precise (don't ask). I can't speak ratios on the Moccamaster. I picked up a recipe on many many long term Moccamaster sites that have me doing a 60 grams of ground coffee to 1 liter of water in the reservoir. You can half that . good beans, good grind. Yummy
Eureka Mignon Filtro Silent any Eureka Mignon Filtro is great--very versatile.
It's so interesting with the Eureka Mignon series globally. I just ordered the Eureka Mignon Filtro Silent in the USA. It has a larger dial on the machine, no timer ( I don't need one) and is the same motor and housing we all love, plus some easier access for cleaning. I don't have a fancy Espresso machine but I know I can change the burr if I need to at a low coast.
Yes for two reasons. 1) for diehards--you can simply plunk in the Espresso Burr (50mm) for $20-$30 and the machine is the best of both worlds (Espresso and pourover/drip/french press) 2) the existing 50mm burr when set to it's finer settings to finest has been said to do a fine job with Espresso -that would be for folks that are not science precise about their pull.
I have the Eureka Mignon Filtro Silent (EMFS)---It is like the quietest best bang for the buck out there. The silent technology works--I've used the non silent next to this and it's notably quieter. Motor size matches more expensive Mignon grinders and it's got a base mounted on / off switch you don't have to hold. You don't have to push the hopper or dosing cup against a front mount button. Here's the kicker--I'm very diverse in my coffee---pourover for years, drip (moccamaster), Phin coffee, turkish and French Press--how's that? I decided on the EMFS--under $300--ships with the filter burrs which work very nicely for Espresso AND you can buy Espresso burrs (OEM) from many places for $30-$40--swap to Espresso burrs ==and those burrs are fine to do double duty for pourover/drip Eureka are built rock solid--been in business for years. I would recommend if you get a EMFS--it has a bigger adjustment dial compared to some of there other machines--you have to mentally keep track of where you were, where you're going for settings---Sooooo----I added a third party ARO dial which is incredible--I can see exactly where my varied espresso settings on---turn that dial, I go way up to my coarse settings. Ready for Epresso--back down--easy peasy!
Eureka Mignon Filtro has been great. I have the Eureka Mignon Filtro Silent. It is quiet in the morning. The burrs are designed for folks that do more drip/pourover/aeropress. The burrs also do a good job with Espresso. Bonus if you get into Espresso, for either model (if you don't want to pay for the quiet feature (it does come with a larger motor matching more expensive Mignon models)--the Eureka Filtro you can change burrs to Espresso burrs.
Ask the internet you'll get 1000 answers. My take is Eureka Mignon Filtro--designed for drip, pourover, french press and works admirably for Espresso--just fine. Can be had for $175 to $200. If noise is an issue---there's the Filtro Silent model--which does grind quieter. Most Eureka units actually use the same housing and motors as their more expensive models. Easy to service
Got the Eureka Mignon Filtro Silent---doesn't wake anyone when I use it at 5 am. There are a few silent models but this one comes in at about $279---no complaints.

Eureka Mignon Filtro/Notte/Silenzio. Any electric grinder is loud, if you don't want noise, get hand grinder instead.
Eureka Mignon it is. You can buy a third-party steps dial (Etsy should have it) that would help you go back and forth.
Yep, I have two eureka mignons. One is the silenzio for espresso, the other is their filter grinder. Especially with the dial on the mignons, I got fed up redialling when I wanted to swap between brew types. Heck, I’d almost buy a third for a ‘guest bean’ 😂
For light roasts yes but coffee overall no. It is better work flow imo. The eureka is good for traditional while the ode shines at light roasts but in a cleaner traditional way. It isn't clarity forward like a zp6 or even the c40. If you are into specialty and light roasts the ode is worth it.
Eureka Mignon Filtro, very happy with it.
I have the Mignon Filtro (with the old burrs, that produce less uniform grinds) and the Ode Gen 1 with upgraded burrs. I just find the Ode so much nicer to use in terms of workflow, adjusting grind size and from a cleanliness perspective. And the Ode Gen 2 should be even more fun due to the de-Ionizer.
Eureka mignon filtro - 149€
Was using Filtro for 2 years before selling it last month. I think the price to cup for it can’t be beaten. Messy yes, I opt for that you buy the single kit for it. It also works for espresso.
