Random but instead of turning right on 132nd, you could turn left and make a right on Willow and take a nice protected bidirectional bike lane to Bruckner, which has another dope bidirectional bike lane straight to 149th. The S1F is pretty cool, I just worry about that IP 54 rating, especially that downhill section next to the fdny training facility on the island. When it rains bad, that area floods horribly. You can ride up under the RFK to get around. Just thought I should let you know. I can’t think of something off the top with at least a ip55 rating at your budget, but you may want to add some diy waterproofing measures. Nami all day. Normally there’s decent support for higher end scooters, but Nami’s support also extends to a Facebook group where even the owner of Nami sometimes checks in to help some people out. Never saw that in a scooter company. He’ll even help you order parts direct from the warehouse in China. Not cheap tho but awesome

So we’re talking 20mi round trip? Can you ride chill or are you keeping up with traffic? 10 miles on a scooter can be rough sometimes. I do 28 round trip if I’m visiting family. I would suggest the Nami Klima since you have a nice budget. The max version for more battery. If you want bigger tires, the Nami Burn E 2 is nice. But it’s huge. Emove cruiser 2.0 is pretty good as well. Great water resistance. They haven’t been really tested out by the community, but the new Segway Max G3 and GT3 are feature packed. (And now feature 11inch tires instead of 10) I also like the Apollo City Pro, but I don’t like Apollo as a company. If you give us a little more data to work with (max speed, suspension, water resistance, weight etc), we can dial down the many options for you. But from what you list from being used to a car, you want quality and comfort.

The Klima is basically a smaller version of the base Burn E 2 with a 60v battery and 10 inch wheels. By that I mean it’s a serious comfortable long range powerhouse. I also liked it because I was looking for a scooter that had an open space to fit a nice lock on the frame, and it caught my attention because I liked the design and lack of RGB everywhere. The RS5 Max is faster and has a better battery than the base Klima, but it’s a 52v scooter meaning you’ll get less watt hours than a 60v with the same or a little less battery. With that being said, the rs5 max uses a battery that doesn’t drop voltage as much as a more generic battery (like in the base Klima). You’ll need the Klima Max for that kinda of battery. Since range is the upmost important to you, I thought I’d share that

I can't stand how most reviewers will say next to nothing about the controllers / throttle feel, etc. especially because the throttle feel on most scooters is garbage with a few exceptions. I did get a chance to ride 2 different Blade GT 2's and I don't like the throttle control on them. It feels like you're picking a speed with the throttle, and the controller is deciding how much power it wants to give you. Not very predictable. On the other hand, I have an Apollo, and I've ridden a Nami Klima max. Both scooters have excellent throttle control, especially the Apollo. The Nami had a bit of deadzone on the throttle lever, but felt quite predictable after that. Both scooters can be "walked", the Apollo a little better than the Nami. That is, the Apollo, even in the highest power setting, can be made to go a walking speed with light throttle application. For comparison, the slowest I could get the blade to move was like 15 kph, except in the dedicated walk mode which is useless for actual riding. The reason it's important to me is that I deal with a lot of loose surfaces and even ice sometimes. I literally couldn't use the blade in some cases where the Apollo is second nature.

My first scooter was a NIU kqi 3 Pro last year. I Than ipicked up myself a Nami Klima Max less than 6 months later . Haha can't wait to ride it

Good news is with one of your options you’re keeping your eyes on, you basically got the king of the sub $2,000 range with the Nami Klima. I’d just consider that one and leave it at that. Maybe grab a sheet of paper and do a T-chart or Cornell notes on the Mantis VS Klima, but the Klima is basically the 60V gold standard. If you’re like me and enjoy going on paths less traveled (at least to a slight level) in terms of rides, I was shown the Teewing Z4 Pro by a friend interested in starting their e-scooter journey. Teewing is slightly beginning to see more support, so maybe I’ll take a look at the thing myself. Despite that, I’d stick with the Klima if it was my purchase.

I'd hate to be a buzzkill, but avoid all of the e-scooters you've mentioned except the Segway G2 Max. Although it’s by far the slowest, it's one of the safest options for a first-time rider. If you don’t mind spending a bit more money and have a sensible amount of restraint, I'd recommend the Punk Rider Pro on one of the slower modes. Everything else is a no-go, as these remaining scooters are better suited for riders who have real-life riding experience. In my opinion, avoid purchasing anything too powerful until you've gathered at least 500 miles of solid learning. This includes learning how to brake, lean, and knowing your local laws—essentially, everything required for safe riding. Before stepping into the realm of high-powered scooters, also consider investing in safety gear. If you decide to be ambitious with your options and buy a powerful scooter, first get an ECE 22.06 helmet or better, along with a good pair of gloves. If you’re set on a high-performance option, I’d recommend the Nami Klima Max, purchased through Fluidfreeride. Just be sure to learn on the DRIVE (D) mode instead of S, C, or X modes. I believe the Nami Klima is one of the scooters that received an update this year, and there’s an active owner in their Facebook group (Michael Sha) who’s available to help diagnose problems if needed. Fluidfreeride has been a consistently good retailer for me, since I live near their centers I'd recommend it, but make sure to look at this map before making any decision with purchasing the Nami Klima Max. Aggressive wears tires quickly) Look at your brake levers & caliber's brake fluids once every couple months Tire pressure keep it at 45-50 psi (Check almost every day, but I recommend riding on 45 psi because there is a lot more grip on it but go with 50 psi if needed) Cautionary: Do not do jumps on any escooter with suspension, that's how your suspension breaks. The Nami Klima doesn't have a folding latch for upstairs if you need to take one up there. \^ The Nami Stellar would be an overall better option but it's only available with Nami only... Many knowledgeable riders here that can help answer this from their own personal experiences but wana appreciate your high quality post 🌟 You could add the Inmotion RS Lite to the list too? Covers all your req’s but much cheaper than the RS, with smaller dual motors and battery (1500w vs 2000w & 72v 30ah vs 40ah) but it’s had great reviews. It’s a bit heavier than the Nami linked above (115lbs vs 78lbs). Lots of love for the Nami Klima here, both this and the RS Lite have different styles both physically and riding wise but highly recommended. You could get the Segway Max G2 but as you’re open to dual motor/longer range/higher quality dual suspension options alongside it, best to buy what you need/want the first time :) Apollo doesn’t have the most likability here, customer services, repairability and inconsistent build quality, have left them down tbh and Dualtron uses the older tech (square wave controllers vs sine), so a bit dated, albeit well liked.

At that price point your not going to find anything especially new that will handle hills carrying a 260lb load no less with good speed and. Braking to do hills your going to Want a dual Motor scooter which increases demand on the battery necessitating a bigger battery . Carrying 260lbs it’s going to Need a decent suspension otherwise it’s going to beat you to death small wheels aren’t a good idea a minimum of 10 inch tires go with tubeless tires they are far better than tube tires 15 flats in 2,500 miles with a tube scooter with tubeless scooters I’ve had one flat in over 18,000 miles on three tubeless scooters . Your far better off just extending the budget and buying a nice Scooter to begin with. There is a saying buy nice or buy twice trying to go For a cheap scooter that won’t perform well and. Will require another. Scooter to be bought thus costing more than had you just bought a really Good one to Begin with the money saved by not trying to go with the cheapest One possible the emove cruiser V2 is around $1500 it is a single motor It will do most Hills albeit slowly has a 33mph top speed has decent range the Nami Klima is a better option with the burn e e2 or max being the best. I have two Nami’s one. With close to 5,000 miles -150 or so the other has 9,227miles on it my emove cruiser has almost 4,500 miles about 40 mi shy for around 18,200 miles . Scooters with big batteries will last longer than ones with small batteries cheap scooters batteries are only good for 300 charge cycles where big batteries with better cells will have 500 charge cycles a burn e battery can last for 25,000 miles where a cheap Scooter Battery can be shot in 2,000-4000 miles. Look at A Scooter as a investment just like a car if you but a yugo it’s going to be problems If you buy A car like a Corolla or a Subaru crosstrek they will Run for a very long time the fun and riding enjoyment of a cheap scooter vs a quality scooter is night and day being able to climb any mountain you want and go on long Rides and the ride Quality is like a bulldozer vs a limousine the choice is ultimately yours a scooter like the Nami klima will last for years with more than ample power it’ll fly up hills like they aren’t there I’d recommend going with the larger battery option the Klima won’t have the range of The burn e but it is better for Portability the Klima is $1999 for the small battery and $2199 for the larger battery model you can do payments of $125 or $138 mo the burn e is 168 For the e2 or $244mo for the burn e max if you buy through fluid free ride in the us you also get 1/2 off on any parts for The scooter you bought From them though AliExpress is far cheaper for Brake Pads . If I was you I’d go with the Nami klima for short range the smaller battery model would work However having a bigger battery is always preferable as is the name Brand cells over the generics I’ve owned many scooters I currently own 6 two of them being Nami’s one has just over 5,000 miles the burn e max has over 10,000 miles on it neither has had any problems the other reason that I’d go with the klima aside from ride quality build quality performance . Is with any other. Scooter of something should go wrong with it and the Retailer is out of the part that you need you may be left waiting weeks to months for them to get the part back in stock With the Nami’s you can contact the owner of Nami Micheal Sha directly and have him ship the part to you and have it in less than four days I have other. Friends who own Nami’s they beat on theirs so they break things and need parts they have gone through Sha for parts he can be reached on Nami electric Facebook . If I had one word to describe Nami’s it would be phenomenal. Do be careful go slow at first put it in the D mode and leave it there for the first few hundred miles find a church parking lot to go practice riding in churches are good as their lots are. Empty most Of The time . Also get a full faced motorcycle helmet hard knuckled motorcycle gloves knee and elbow pads are a good idea as is a rechargeable front read light set that You can Set to Flashing a bright yellow flaggers vest . Is a good idea as well have fun stay safe anyways just my .02 cents

The most scooter for the money that I could find was the teverun blade gt2. 5400w peak output from dualtron controllers 52mph, kke shocks, 26ah for $1800 or 35ah for 2200. The nami klima is a great option as well, but it isn't as fast, and the 30ah version isnt in stock, so I went with the teverun. Over 800 miles, and I'm super happy with the quality.

Can't go wrong with the klima, but the extra 5 amp hours on the blade is substantial and they are the same price.

At least if you buy a used teverun, you dont have to check to see if it has the neck that snaps off while you're riding it 🤷‍♂️. The namis didn't seem like a step up when I tried them out, I don't get the hype. But I guess everyone has their own preference.

I have the Klima One (single motor) version. I don’t really live in a hilly city but I’m sure it would do just fine tackling hills, as I haven’t really seen it struggle with anything. Top speed is roughly 60KMH and it’s insanely good and comfortable. Honestly, I’d probably choose it over the Super Stellar as it has larger tires and hydraulic suspension. If you can though I’d spend the extra cash and go for the dual motor Klima. It’s an amazing machine.

I can get close to 70km (43 miles) on my Nami Klima on one charge, 180 lbs guy here, on mostly flat surface at 25-32 kph (15-20 mph). The Klima is fun and comfortable to ride too.

You have to drive slowly, like 25 km/h (in my area, that's the legal limit) and take it easy when accelerating. But that's really the range limit as the battery runs out. If you add hills, forget it. Usually, I can do a 45-50 km ride without worrying too much about the terrain and riding at 30-35 km/h.

Problem is some people will tell you a brand is amazing and others it's the worst they've dealt with. Really you can't let someone tell you, you have to do alot of research. That being said I'm a someone and here's what I'll tell you: IMO Best of the best: Segway, Nami, Inmotion, Dualtron Don't be fooled they all still have their individual problems. This is generally speaking from my experience and what I've gathered from others. Great: VSETT, Niu, VMAX, Good: Kukirin/Kugoo, Roadrunner, Nanrobot, Aovo, Solar, Teverun, Alot of bad stuff I've heard from: Hiboy, Circooter, Apollo Missed a bunch of others but if you're in it for the long haul, please only go for the best and don't cheap out. And do a ton of research.

I've owned 2 Segway scooters, and one Nami. The G30LP is still going strong years later. Segway has some decent product lines, and some bad ones. Overall I don't like all the plastic they use, and the suspension is very lacking. The Burn-E2 makes all Segway scooters look/feel like toys as far as I'm concerned.

Nami, Niu and Inmotion yes. The others? Kind of a crapshoot as to whether or not you get a good one. Segway is expensive for what it is by a decent bit imo, with tons of QC issues, vsett has seen a lot of QC issues as well and Dualtron is just behind most other brands on the tech and specs at what is, again, a really overpriced scooter for what you get. This is all my opinion however so take it with a grain of salt.

Dualtron/Teverun/Nami have mostly been using the jumper trick where it's a cable that you can physically cut to unlock the max speed. Newer teveruns switched to a pair of NFC badges to lock or unlock the top speed. Seems to be enough for regulators since it's in the whitelist of approved models for countries that have them (eg the Spanish DGT).
