I am receiving my Whoop Mg today, after wearing the trial one for 20 or so days. I'm under no illusion that it's a full on medical device, however understanding the info displayed based on my daily activities has been a great experience. I can't fathom sleeping with a giant apple watch on my wrist. It took a little bit for me to get used to wearing the whoop band to sleep.. i'm used to it now and it's really not too bad.

I just got a Garmin a few days ago. And I use it mainly for runs. Need to track pace, cadence etc. I only wear it when I run. I know I probably went overboard with that purchase, but for sleep/recovery etc I use the Whoop. Best combo ever.

That is the rechargeable battery pack, typically attached when it is off wrist to recharge for a couple hours. The Whoop itself is integrated with the band/strap and very slim. https://preview.redd.it/p5k2ovy62iff1.png?width=2196&format=png&auto=webp&s=7be112a670ae0907ce0aa102cdb1299f822637d9

I’m testing the waters right now. 3 years with an AWU and Whoop to a F8 Pro. I’ve had a Garmin watch with LTE on my wish list for a while now and jumped at the opportunity when it was released. Satellite connectivity made it a no brainer. I spend a considerable amount of time away from cellular reception. I got rid of my inReach when the iPhone got satellite capabilities. I was leaning on LTE on my AWU for emergency rescue when I was near civilization but it burned me once in rural Kansas when I didn’t have my phone. I prefer not to carry a phone with me while on long distance bike rides (gravel) or ultra distance trail runs. I’m getting used to Garmin body battery and similar from Whoop strain and recovery metrics. The golf experience on Garmin is kind of great. Battery life is a HUGE win over AWU. Heart rate broadcast fills a small void that kept me from ditching Whoop, and Whoop could never keep up with HIIT and rapid HR changes. I haaaaate notifications on my wrist; that’s the first thing I turned off when I got the AWU or F8Pro. If I don’t have my phone with me, I don’t want to be reachable. I still have my AWU but I think it’s going to end up on eBay.

I’m not one of the haters, and it’s helped me a lot, but I’m not going to renew once my membership is up. The MG in particular is not worth the price in the slightest! If it was cheaper, I’d probably renew but there are so many options that are just as good (if not better) for a lot cheaper. All of my friends have now left Whoop for alternatives and none of them regret it. Whoop has served me very well but it’s time for me to move on. It was innovative 3+ years ago, but not anymore.

I have been a Whoop wearer for 4 years. I have had a Garmin 945 for 5. This is exactly my use case—run and strength (and whatever else) with the Garmin and whoop for the overall experience.

got it. am loving my whoop so far. i used helio strap for 1 month, great device, but just prefer the whole whoop app and how the hardware feels on my wrist. im not hard core athlete, play pickleball 2-3times a week.

i personally dont think its nicer than whoop. especially the app. the price point is in no mans land, people can go with helio strap which is even cheaper and provide good value too.

i just keep hearing about accuracy everywhere, but whats the benchmark, even if there is, i think its very very dynamic when we talk about anything related to human. hardware most of the top brands and devices are similar. with some variability 2-5%. but its the software and algo that is the game changer. im going with whoop from usa to lead the pack.

"Device on arm tells me that body that feels like shit is indeed shit." Thats what I tell everybody about whoop. Its pretty cool but it just confirms how my body feels.
