I’m not normally an IEM guy but since my wife has stolen my AirPods Pro (gen 1) and original CCA CRAs, I’m without travel headphones. I re-bought the CCA CRAs a while back but alas it was after the silence update and the new ones sound like crap so they collect dust in a drawer. I have a trip coming up next week so I decided to get new IEMs and decided on the Hexa after some review watching. This set seems really hyped on YouTube. After half a day of listening my main impression is that it’s bass-shy and quite dry sounding. I suppose some people like this sound profile, but it is certainly not for me. It sounds pretty thin and ethereal right off the bat. The OG CRA was much better than this at a quarter of the price (though more V shaped in tuning, which was fun for the 2 or 3 hours at a time I would listen while traveling). The Hexa seems to just surf across the wave tops of the music and never bites into the meat of it (if you’ll pardon the mixed metaphors). I listened on my Questyle M12 as well as the Schiit stack in the pics, both of which sound pretty great with my 109 Pro. I am hoping for a set with a nice warm tonal balance, and I’m dreading my upcoming week with the Hexa. I’d like to return it and get something else but only have a week til my trip and don’t know what else to go for. Overall, I’d avoid this IEM unless you just don’t enjoy bass / sub-bass.

Wow more than me! My favs are ZS12 Pro X, Zenith, PR2 (black mesh), and Vader. How do you like the ZA12 and Hydro? I tried to get a ZA12 but it was a scam listing so I got a ZSN Pro X instead lol, at least it was free. Oh, and original CCA CRA, one of my favorite DDs to this day.

I'm also a big fan of OG cca cra, I think the only thing that sounds similar to it is kz edx lite (more rolled of in the air) . I would throw this on the list but dunu falcon ultra is exactly what your described, warmer/rich tonal balance but with incredible bass defintion. The highs are just right, but full of elegance and detail. Everyone is going to recommend delci which is also a fantastic set. I think though dunu falcon ultra is like a way superior upgrade, the driver has this elasticity thats hard to explain. Its almost like chewing gum, it can suddenly turn tight and hard in colder tracks or strechy and vibrant on warmer ones. Please give this set a look immediately!

For reference, I have an EW200, CCA CRA and KZ Castor Bass. I really love each of them and how bass heavy they sound. I also have the Zero 2 and although there is not a lot of bass, I love how wide it might sound with the right song. So would the EW300 be a substantial upgrade over the EW200 or would the DZ4 bring something new to the table? (I'd also shamelessly admit that I buy them mostly based on looks, so Celest Wyvern Abyss, BL03 and Truthear Nova are also in the cart for now)

CCA CRA. So GD bloated. I literally pulled them out of my ears before going back in to finish a quick review. There are people who love them, and good for them. 1,000% not for me.

? These don't sound like the BL03, but they definitely aren't lacking in bass, especially not midbass. You most likely aren't getting a proper seal, or maybe you got a faulty set. I would actually say that the CCA CRA is one of the most BL03-like IEMs, although the BL03 is better. The overall tonality is quite similar. The HBB is much warmer, with less of that sparkly upper treble that the BL03 has. The only other one I've heard that's a bit like the BL03, but a bit bassier and not quite as resolving, is the Tripowin Piccolo. It also has a more normal fit than the BL03. It's pretty good if you find it on sale - it's not so well known because it was way overpriced at release into a very competitive market at the time. If you're looking for something that sounds *exactly* like the BL03, you pretty much need to stick to the BL03 itself. There's a new version just been released with a 2pin connector. They changed the tuning slightly but I haven't heard it. Not many reviews yet. HBB says it's good, but his review is a bit hand-wavy.

I never listened to expensive and high end. But I want to do it, I want to know the difference between the stuff I own and the stuff I won’t ever own. I own Moondrop Blessing 3 (I payed 270 dollars) with Qudelix and it is amazing. But honestly I can enjoy other IEMS I have under 100 and even I love my CCA CRA 😅 (they cost me 10 dollars) Edit: when I said B3 is amazing I meant I never had an IEM like that. It blew my mind the first time I heard complicated tracks. It’s the best I own but I can enjoy a lot cheaper ones. I am curious about how much better are expensive ones to my b3

Heyy, I see you're living in india, did you face any humidity issue where one of the iem made less sound creative channel imbalance? I got 2 iems cca cra and wan'er sg, wan'er developed an imbalance within 3 months (mind you it was never take out of my room, and never roughly used) whereas cra were used everyday during commute, in bus during rain etc. but it took those units about 11months to develop an imbalance

Cheap ones: Kbear Rosefinch, Whizzer/Opera Factory OS1 Pro, CCA CRA, More pricey ones: 7Hz Legato, QKZ x HBB Hades, Campfire Audio Honeydew. In case you are looking for a cheap one I would go for the Rosefinch. If you have more money to burn, probably the Honeydew would suffice. :) I only have the Castor Bass and I also had the QKZ x HBB Khan (not the standard QKZ x HBB), but for me the Castor was way better.

Hey, thanks! I'm also thinking about getting the Artti T10, but they're like 84 bucks here. The ZSN Pro X was my first IEM, and after I got the CCA CRA, I couldn't go back to the ZSN Pro X. It literally hurts my ears.

I have 7hz Salnotes Zero (first gen, two of them because they're crazy cheap now, like $12), CCA CRA, KZ ZST (which have a Fiio bluetooth set attached), and Shure SE215s. The SE215s are definitely the best as actual on-stage monitors since they have much better isolation (like earplugs that play sound, not just earbuds), but they're a bit above your budget at $100. The others are all pretty cheap, around a $20 price point, but those would all be good enough to practice with (and I've used them for exactly that). Going higher end will definitely get better quality, and the upgraded cables are *really* nice (I have [this](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09Z6XZQG3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1) on my SE215s, it's harder to justify a $20 cable for $20 IEMs, but it flows really nicely). For more expensive but not $100, the Truthear x Crinacle Zero stood out at ~$50 having a dual driver for better bass response, but I haven't had a chance to try it out. I know it's not the only one with dual (or more) drivers, I think it was just the cheapest when I was doing more digging. I ended up getting the Shures though.

WIth EQ you can hear all the sounds in a music if you tune both cheaper and expensive iems to neutral. But things like bass texture, vocal clarity, vocal smoothness, note weight, how pronounced the details are compared to main foreground sounds etc depends on driver quality.. i own KZ EDC PRO and CCA CRA. Both budget sets and tuned to neutral by my ear. CRA has geeat technicalities than EDC pro . Difference is worth an upgrade (only if EQ applied) .. Also things like eartips make huge difference..good difference. I heard that cable makes difference but i didnr try that ( budget issue).. SO WHAT I LOOK FOR IS GOOD CHEAP DRIVER AND GOOD FIT.

All are same in KZ, they won't improve great on sound with many drivers. I personally prefer to go with either single DD (1driver) or DD with BA (2 drivers). KZ ZVX or the KZ ZSN PRO 2. Done and dusted. Not more not less. CCA CRA is good too. Tangzhu Waner is better single DD than KZ. If you're investing more than $25 move away from KZ or CCA. Truthear, Kiwi ears, Moondrop have better iems to buy for.

r/inearfidelity • I'm about to buy a KZ Zs10 Pro X, which is said to be one of the best earphones from that brand. But I wanted to ask if you know of any other in-ear earphones that are better? I can spend up to $200 USD ->

When i asked about Give me recommendations for blon bl03 like sounds iem few people suggested this this. And my first impression was fuck Noo. This thing not even close to blon 03. This thing completely lack mid bassy bass i specifically asked for in the og post. Im not even sure these people actually listen to these iems before giving advice to others. I have bought my mother a CCA CRA & This thing sounding more closer to CCA CRA than blon bl03. For future buyers - If you looking for The mid bassy bass (ex- the bass guitar sound) This doesn't have it. This just flat sounding & Doesn't fun to listen at all. Now im gon buy some dunu eartips and trying to get a good fit from my blon. Prolly gon gift this shit to one of my relatives.

My experience: I've used CCA CRA, CHU 2 kinda Iems, and I even liked the u shaped CRA, it's treble is emphasized & energetic it's not screechy or shrill, it's well rounded and clear. The sub bass is rumblier and had good mid bass punch. The Sound won't seem as hollow or blurred in presentation, it's just clean & clear for it's implementation. So I need this kind of IEM and I came across these: EA500LM, Arti T10, Kefine Delci Note: (( I heard that "EA500LM" sibilant but had very Sharp & sparkly treble, but that excess shrill & sparkle only heard the most and it's felt wrong as its the clarity, detail & note definition. )) Is this correct about the EA500LM true note detail and clarity and even with all the given nozzels of it? So in the above listed IEMs which had no sibilance & even though they had elevated sparkle in sound which one had more detail & definition in notes with precise layered sound along with the strong impactful mid bass and enough sub bass rumble but textured & clean.

For me, IEM's have been the most comfortable especially compared to gaming headphones, sound quality wise my cca cra (1.4k) sounds the same as my previous headphone hs60 pro (4.5k) or the galaxy buds 2 pro. The only disadvantage is that the mic is pretty trash, but new iem's probably have better ones like ZERO red.
