The Nuna Urbn also doesn't require a base, so it's easy to get in and out of cabs and Ubers (that's what it was designed for!)

Nuna TRVL urbn - bucket seat no base needed. You gotta anchor every time you put in the car. Something that can work is to get a bucket seat AND a convertible seat that can be the transitional seat as the bucket is outgrown. We personally did the NUNA pipa RX that comes with 1 base which was always on the main truck , BUT it have the option to use a seatbelt buckle no base needed grip for the secondary use vehicle. We felt it was a great investment with the stroller (got it before the newer travel systems came out)

We have the Urbn and love it!! But I’ll say, we are city folk and take a lot of cabs and Ubers, so it really is our best option. We have the Mixx Next and it’s great, but definitely a large and heavy piece of equipment. We have a lighter weight travel stroller for jaunts where we need to be more portable.

We also have the era. I love that you can recline it flat for walks. We got nuna car seat because I liked the materials and it's very light. I'm not sure if it'll fit in a small car (it fits great in my Rav) but definitely another option to look into. I found the Chicco car seat very heavy and bulky in comparison

We have the nuna and I don’t feel like it’s heavy at all. I’m dad so maybe that’s why but it’s super super light compared to my brothers Doona. Also, my nephew who is 30th percentile has already grown out of his Doona at 1. Plus the tires on the Doona are tiny. And plastic. I routinely run over large rocks/curbs/anything I wasn’t with our nuna and my 11 month old loves it.

No man that thing weighs more than my son. My SIL is tiny. Like 4-11, 100lbs and the only way she gets that beast out of my brothers truck is basically just chucking it. Plus, those wheels just aren’t made as well as the Nunas. All my friends have children and of all of our car seat/stroller systems I can confidently say the Nuna is the best I’ve seen. By a wide margin Edit: my 11 month old is also gonna fit in the Nuna for a long time still. He’s almost too big for my nephews Doona already

My brother and SIL had kids first in our family. My SIL is a little boujee and wanted Nuna everything. I had my son a year after their daughter so they lent my their Nuna carseat and bassinet with base and gifted me the Nuna stroller. I was appreciative but thought $1k for all that mess was excessive. I would not have sprung for it had it not been gifted. I really loved it though. It was so easy. I've lent it to friends. Our Nuna stuff has gone through 6 babies so far. I now have baby #2 5 years later. The infant car seat has since expired so I sprung for a new Nuna so it would fit with the whole system. She sleeps in the bassinet downstairs during the day and I just click that into the stroller for walks then I switch it out with the car seat to go somewhere. The stroller is really nice because even though it's big and heavy duty it travels really well. It's great for just getting over mixed terrain. My friend who borrowed it last wanted a smaller lighter stroller but ended up borrowing mine and using it more because it handled so much better on bumpy roads and terrain. Anyway I'm thankful for my boujee SIL because she was right and it was made my life a lot easier.

+1 for Nuna and Uppababy. I have the Pipa Lite RX (discontinued) and my husband and I have bases installed in each of our cars so it’s easy to switch. We’re still deciding on which convertible car seat to buy. We bought the bassinet for our Uppababy Cruz V2 and LO was in that until about 4 months. It can also be used as an overnight sleep solution, as long as you have the stand. We just sold the bassinet and stand on Facebook marketplace. There’s always lots of stroller and car seat deals on there if you’re budget conscious. Our travel stroller is the Babyzen Yoyo which weighs only 14 pounds and fits in the airplane overhead bin. They also have a bassinet attachment so you can use it from birth. We also baby wear a lot. For a structured carrier, we have the Tula lite. For unstructured, we use Sollywraps.

How big of an issue is budget? I went back and forth so much on this one but the one I went with ended up being my absolute favorite purchase. We went with the Nuna Urbn/Tavo Set. Dillard’s has a for $599 which is crazy budget for both. Urbn car seat is not sold on its own without a set. You can also pick another stroller set like the Mixx or Triv or Trvl (all have pros and cons) with the same car seat, but they will be anywhere from $900-1250 for the set. Here’s the thing about the Urbn- No other car seat like it on the market. It only weighs 7 lbs It doesn’t require a base to or seat belt to be hooked in. It uses a latch system that hooks directly into the car seat latches which are in all vehicles made 2012 or later (if in US). It was the most convenient thing ever if using multiple cars. My son’s dad and I split when he was 14 weeks old, so he was in all cars back and forth, and we also both use our vehicles a lot for work so not having a base left behind was sooooo convenient. I would suggest it to anyone. You can watch TikTok on the installation to see how it works just search Nuna Urbn install. Takes 5 seconds. The only con- Because it’s so lightweight and the latch system, it maxes out at 29 inches and 22 lbs for baby limits. So baby will not be able to use it quite as long as some of the other popular ones like Chicco Keyfit that go up to 35 lbs and 32 inches long for baby size max. That being said, when baby gets around that 20 lb mark, the car seat gets extremely heavy to still be moving in and out…and the other car seats with the higher maxes weigh more starting anyway. For example, the Uppababy Mesa weighs 12lbs to start, so even if it goes up to 30* lbs or so, not many people still want to remove and carry baby in it once that heavy. They can just get longer use out of it by remaining in the vehicle. But either way, you’ll still have to switch to a convertible car seat. With the Urbn, that just happens a bit sooner. Most babies max out height before weight anyway. We made it 9 months with Urbn before having to switch to Rava convertible. The Tavo stroller is heavy and large but so nice and luxurious for the price point in the set. I loved having it but 8/10 just carried the car seat bc it was so light. I ended up getting a really small travel stroller to use without the car seat at about 6 months old and kept the larger stroller for longer more comfortable outings. The Trvl or the Triv are going to be your best bet if you want lighter. And the Mixx is top of the line, has all the options and bells and whistles. If the lower weight limit and latch system isn’t necessary, the new Nuna Aire which uses the base (or seat belt options) is what I’d suggest. With bases, takes seconds to install as well, but you do need bases installed in all cars already for that to be quick. Without a base, it can always be installed with seat belt only but takes much longer than the Urbn with latch system. It’s why getting used to it I could never go back to something else. Hands down was my partner and I’s favorite purchase. I said in another post, people LOVE the Uppababy strollers. Particularly the Vista or Cruz V2. But I would suggest the Mesa car seat. You can get another type of car seat and an adapter ring for several of them if you love the stroller though and it makes the set. Best overall infant car seats by budget Graco Snugride Chicco Keyfit 35 Nuna Urbn or Aire Cybex also makes great ones Because of the $599 option at dillards for the urbn and Tavo, I wouldn’t recommend a Chicco Bravo set because they are almost the same price but are also still good. Same as the higher end Graco sets…they are in the $450-550 range anyway, might as well get the cheaper Nuna set bc of the quality. Nuna also uses no dangerous chemicals sprayed on their fabrics which is a plus. This color is $100 off of the other ones in other colors exactly like it. Dillard’s does that a lot on some colors. But Seriously cannot beat this price or deal for everything you get with [this](https://www.dillards.com/p/nuna-tavo-stroller-and-pipa-urbn-infant-car-seat-travel-system/519384726) [example](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8NK3Rsk/) if install. You don’t even need the yellow guides. (We didn’t use them). Especially once you do it a couple times bc you know exactly where the hooks are.

Gotcha! My friends visited NYC a couple times with their infant and their Doona worked well for them. May be worth the purchase for your trip. A “hack” I’ve heard is that if you’re planning on gate checking, go up to gate agent and ask (nicely) if there are any open middle seats and if so if you and your baby could be put in that row. If it works out you’ll get to bring the car seat onboard without buying a seat, if not gate check it as planned and lap carry I personally have the Nuna Triv + Pipa Aire and we’ve flown with it (and the car seat) a few times as a gate check and we love it bc the Triv folds easily. I feel like the Triv is perfect for NYC life but is an expensive purchase so the Doona a much better deal unless you happen upon a used Triv Also another option if you’re renting a car for your upstate journey is a car seat supplied by the car rental company - I think almost all of them have the option!

Nuna Urbn is great. The car seas has legs with latches that can connect to IsoFix rings that exist in most cars, so a base is not required. It also fits the stroller, so you just push a button and move it from the car to the stroller. We also bought the flat bassinet for it (it comes with legs for indoor use if you want), but haven’t had the chance to try it

Our nuna car seats are hands down the best. We’ve bought cheap brands for travel + the maxi cosi’s for grandparents cars to compare. The nuna feels the sturdiest, highest end, and the thing doesn’t budge. It’s also incredibly comfortable and grows with your kids.

Have the Nuna tavo. Love it bc it’s so easy to use with the Nuna rx car seat. You can also lay the seat completely flat and has buttons on the feet, so it acts Iike a bassinet. Really didn’t want to buy a bassinet bc it felt like a waste of money. Also think about how the weather will be when your baby is born. It’s great in the wintertime to move the car seat into the stroller and cover her up completely to stay warm.

Stick to the nuna pipa rx. Great infant seat. Stroller options are abundant and there really isn't a wrong answer but each one has minor pluses or minuses. Nuna mixx next, uppababy cruz, silvercross reef, and even some of the bugaboo strollers. Personally went with mixx next though but that was because my wife picked it over the others. We don't regret our choice

My final 3 strollers came down to the Nuna Mixx Next, the Uppababy Cruz, and the Silvercross Reef. my wife liked the Nuna the most, and we had already decided to get the Nuna Pipa RX infant carseat before hand anyways. My second choice would've been the Reef but damn that thing is expensive. That's the 1 con about silvercross.

My bestie has it, and I truly don’t get the appeal. Yes, you can travel with one piece of equipment versus an infant stroller and a travel stroller, but that’s kinda the only perk I see. IMO, it’s heavy, the wheels suck (seriously couldn’t get over gravel at a pumpkin patch we went to), it still needs a base so have to travel with that, the sun shade is soo short so you need a muslin blanket with you, it doesn’t last for very long so you still need to buy another stroller (yes I know you have to buy another car seat when moving on from the infant car seat, there’s ZERO storage, the handle bar is short (I’m 5’9), and it can’t fit in the aisle of some planes so you have to pick it up anyway. I could be wrong, but I also don’t think it’s rated as safe in some countries including Canada — we got our car seat installation inspected by CHP before baby girl arrived, and the officer said the Doona is hard to install safety/correctly and needs to be checked every single time you take it in and out. We love Nuna and our friends who had the Doona actually transitioned to Nuna after their baby grew out of the Doona. We have the infant carrier, stroller, travel stroller, had the bassinet attachment when baby girl was smaller, and are getting one of the other rear facing car seats when she grows out of the infant seat. I love that the base goes to the floor — it’s extremely safe. The stroller is can get heavy if you’re doing lots of errands but is gorgeous and not so bad it stops me from using it. The travel stroller works with the infant car seat without another attachment which I love for lots of errands or, ya know, travel lol. The sun shades on all the products are so good. Couldn’t recommend more.

Nuna strollers and car seats with specifically the merino lining. The lightest version of the Pipa that had a reflex clip in base and could be used without the base. Things that we got after attempting alternatives because we love traveling: A dedicated travel stroller that fits in the overhead of airplanes. Cybex libelle. The travel bag for the nuna pipa car seat. The seat is light and so it’s a good item have as a backpack. You can also jam a load of diapers in the space saving previous suitcase space. Baby Bjorn Travel Crib. It’s so light and easy to set up. Gave us much more options for locations we could stay.

I also felt extremely overwhelmed by choice and I didn’t even understand how all the parts worked together. It is helpful to go to a baby store and try them out for yourself. Agree- we got the TRVL and have really appreciated the one-handed fold. For a car seat we got the Pipa Lite RX because it has the European belt option and we mostly use a car with a base, but the urbn is a great option if you're going to be in a lot of different cars. Not sure how old your little ones are but my 3 month old just took his 3rd flight today. The first two we had him as a lap infant because we had a car seat at the destination. It wasn’t too hard but definitely much easier with him in the car seat. He has a nuna pipa urbn (so you can compare size) & it fit perfectly in between the arms rests. The arm rests do raise as well, but we didn’t need to. The car seat also fit well down the aisle. Southwest allows 2 car seats in a row, but they have to be window & middle seat. Depending how old & if you breastfeed or not but we waited to feed him his bottle until we were taking off so that his first burping we could take him out of the car seat. If you have a seat for the child they have to be in the car seat during takeoff & landing which is somewhat difficult when they are so little especially if you breastfeed. If you aren’t going to offer a bottle a pacifier works too because they need to pop their ears manually on the way up & down. Depending on age as well being new toys that they have never seen before as it will occupy them longer. If they are still little they will most likely just sleep the whole time. Lastly, remember this is a form a public transportation. Children & babies are allowed to act like children & babies. Don’t be embarrassed or get overwhelmed by other people (easier said than done I know). You got this!!

We got the full travel system in a bundle - actually the pram place we got it from agreed to price match to a deal we found online, so we got it for almost 50% off which was crazy. The car seat, isofix base, buggy chassis, bassinet and stroller seat all came in the bundle along with a foot muff, two rain covers and different adapters. The Pipa Lite is only up to a certain weight limit or 12 months I believe, whichever came first. So our heavy boy actually outgrew that by 9 months but we will obviously get a second use out of it with this baby so not too great a loss. The stroller has had much more longevity for us and we would be continuing to use it with him for a while yet if we didn't need it for baby!

We have the Nuna trvl and pipa urbn system and love it. My husband is 6’5” and pushes the trvl comfortably. We don’t have another stroller we just have the trvl. The pipa urbn is so so easy to clip in and out of any car. We’ve used it on a domestic trip and international trip and clipped it in and out of Ubers, courtesy hotel cars etc. with no issue. We’re starting to look at moving to a convertible car seat now at 8 months as our baby is about to be too long but weight wise she still has several lbs to go. It’s getting more awkward to carry with her in it now anyway.

I have heard the Uppababy car seats have improved from when I was looking but will always suggest a Nuna infant car seat over an Uppababy for the simple fact that Nuna car seats are compatible with many different brands of strollers should you have different needs with a possible baby #2 or if you travel by plane and bring a smaller travel stroller. What are you planning to do with your stroller? Are you outdoorsy people? Will it mostly be used indoors or on smooth sidewalks? Do you live in the suburbs and need to load it in and out of the car frequently? How important is storage to you?

We went with the Nuna Pipa (which came with a RELX seat base) and bought a second base. This was perfect for us, especially while we were both exclusively home for the first 4 months. We also have the Nuna stroller (I forget which we have), so the car seat sat right on it. He started daycare just after 4 months, and the daycare wouldn’t let us leave the seat there. So when I picked him up, I had to go get the seat (I only had the base) and then go get him. It got old quick. So I ended up getting the Graco 4ever Deluxe for my truck. My wife used the Nuna until he didn’t fit anymore, even when she stopped taking it out.

I am a car seat tech and I get sent free seats/travel systems/strollers to review- I was not paid to write this review, but here are my thoughts. Uppababy strollers are nice if you’re into the tandem stadium style setup (it wasn’t for us, but that isn’t universal!). I’ve enjoyed using the Vista in single mode recently though I do generally prefer a lighter stroller, personally. Their strollers are excellent quality. Their car seats… not so much. The Mesa V2 has a really challenging design where a lot of newborns and even older babies end up in a chin-to-chest position, which is dangerous for tiny airways. It’s been a problem with every version of Mesa but it’s worse with the V2 than with the original Mesa (not quite as bad as it was with the Mesa Max, which was so severe that Uppababy literally had to discontinue producing that seat). If you are really committed to Uppababy infant car seats specifically, I would personally get 2 Aria seats. The inserts and internal design are much better for infant positioning, and as a bonus the bases come with a load leg, which is a significant safety feature. I have a singleton newborn (and 4yo twins which is why I’m here!) and I also work in a NICU as their car seat professional- I have only seen acceptable fits in the Mesa V2 a handful of times (it’s common for preemies to fail their car seat test in the V2 and need a completely different seat to discharge) whereas the Aria has been decent to work with. My newborn looks great in it (though she does happen to cry in it a lot lol). The Vista is compatible with a variety of other car seats with the right adapters. I personally do not find adapters to be a pain or challenge at all, and used them the entire time my twins were babies in the same stroller, to enable me to use two different brands of infant car seats that I preferred to use. The Nuna Pipa line, Clek Liing, and Chicco Keyfit 30/35 are all compatible with the Vista and all provide a better newborn fit (and also last a bit longer on the other end before being outgrown, compared to the Aria, which is a very short framed seat to enable it to be so lightweight). My baby’s personal favorite seat seems to be the Nuna Pipa Urbn and my personal favorite seats to use are the Liing and the Keyfit 35. If you are set on the Vista, I would really recommend the Aria or one of these non-UB seats for a better infant fit and overall user experience! Poorly fitting infant car seats are a crappy situation that no brand new twin parent wants to be dealing with

I think you'll be happy with either stroller - but I would really recommend looking at Nuna car seats instead of UB. UB just doesn't design their seats as well and there are more issues with fit than Nuna ever has. Do you expect another kid in the near future? I prefer the fold of the Demi to the Vista. I get so annoyed with closing the Vista and opening it, but it is a dream to push! I also love that the Demi comes with a built in mosquito net, and the second kid seat is not reduced limits like on the Vista. I never even tried the Demi unfortunately and I regret it!!

you can make it work as long as the nuna base fits (i dont see why it wouldnt) but the front passenger seat needs to be pushed all the way out front. since youre looking at nunas, i definitely recommend getting a base/stroller/ carseat combo so you can just clip in and out without having to struggle actually putting your infant in the seat

My biggest suggestion is to test drive them if you can. My requirement was one that I could maneuver one handed as I walk the the dog at the same time. I was able to get a Nuna off Craigslist for a good price, so that's what we went with. So far I am happy with its maneuverability and how easy it is to click in the cars eat, Bassinet, etc. It is a bit on the heavy side though and takes up a lot of trunk space in the car.

Yeah, we had major sticker shock looking at strollers. I checked the 2nd hand market every day to see if we could snag either a nuna or uppababy. Eventually, I got super lucky, and the Nuna came up at a very reasonable price with multiple attachments. Typically, the car seat is sold separately from the stroller. You can mix and match some brands if you get the right attachment. I know you can use the Nuna car seat with the uppababy stroller.

As for goods: Thule jogging stroller has been fantastic for us, though we walk frequently and on subpar roads/trails. We went with the Nuna Pipa Lite car seat and liked it, but have the UppaBaby Vista 2 as our stroller chassis and wish we’d just bought a compatible UppaBaby car seat (to deal with less converters and components). A good, breathable crib mattress is a must. We’ve liked the Newton. Lastly, the Baby Brezza is a game changer if you formula feed at all. The rest we’ve gotten a ton of mileage out of gently used and secondhand: clothes, toys, accessories, etc.

We chose the Aria and Vista and love the combo. Ours is a V2, but overall I think the V3 is close enough that I’d recommend the pair. I think with either seat your kid is probably going to be out by about the 6m mark give or take a bit. My SIL’s baby was out of the Nuna Aire and the travel version at 5m and when I put my baby in those seats he’s not really any better. They’re close in age and no one expected such a short use time, so we put my shorter baby in as a tester. With the safety aspect in mind, the Aria and the Aire are pretty similar. Both have a load leg, both have an anti rebound bar, both have the same type of full foam padding throughout the seat. I’m not sure there is any further data available to determine which is safer. We liked the Aria because it’s cheaper and clicks straight into the Minu and Vista. I think we needed a set of adapters for the Minu…probably…but I just can’t 100 percent remember off the top of my head. We mostly used the bassinet, not the car seat, but it was so nice having options. Also, the Aria has a pull ring to adjust the padding whereas you have to undo more of the seat on the Aire. If weight is a concern, the Aria is technically lighter by a noticeable amount, although you do get stronger over time. I’m disabled and have surprised myself a ton now at 6m. The Vista frame is nbd to get into the car now. YMMV of course and I do think the lighter seats are worth the money. Cruz vs Vista wise, I’d go with the Vista. The wheels are bigger and so it will be smoother for you and the baby.

CPST- feel free to PM me for more details or suggestions. Basically some of the more expensive brands are more complicated to install or are outgrown more quickly. For instance the nuna infant seat needs a rolled towel to get it level in most vehicles. Uppababy infant seats are outgrown very quickly. You mentioned Clek but Clek is one brand that is very recommended by techs. I own 3 of them myself. The Clek liing is one of the most highly recommended infant seats on the market. We couldn't use it in our vehicles because we have Ev's but that would have been my top pick otherwise. We own 3 Clek foonfs. The Clek also has adaptors for uppababy strollers if you go that route.

Since Nuna pipa URBN does not come with a base you would need to secure the car seat in your car every time as opposed to just clicking it in place. We opted for nuna pipa RX instead for this reason (which we also bought on Nordstrom anniversary sale today!)

We have the Vista and the Nuna Pipa Lite RX and are extremely happy with our decision. We have the stroller adapter ring but rarely use it. I limit car seat use for the car. Car seat manufacturers and pediatricians have recommended time limits on car seat use especially when they are very little. I preferred my bassinet or seat for strolling. The bassinet is also safe for sleep.

I’d say go test some out at the store. Personally my wife and I went with the Nuna Mixx next stroller and Pipa RX car seat. And I got an extra car seat base for my car so I don’t have to switch them all the time. So far it’s been great. The stroller is also infant capable without the car seat attached when they get a tad bigger.

Just my two cents but seeing the Aria next to the Pipa Aire—the Aria is so much smaller, length wise. If you’re expecting a tall baby, I’d consider the Pipa car seat with the Uppababy stroller system. Baby will outgrow the Aria by length much quicker than the Pipa.

I think personal preference, personality, first time parents, and overconsumption is a huge part of this. As a FTM, husband and I wanted to splurge specifically on a nuna system (mainly because you didn’t need a base in every car to use and I see resale ones on FB marketplace), but were lucky as heck a grandparent wanted to gift us the funds for it… Aside from that initial planned investment, I asked for pre-loved clothes at my shower. Registered for a microwave sterilizer vs a machine. Couldn’t decide on a carrier bc they are overwhelming to pick and so expensive, so I settled for a boba wrap at least for the newborn phase. Even though they were gifts I wasn’t paying for, I didn’t want to contribute to overconsumption. Curious if there are specific items you are looking for? You got this!

We live in Chicago and did extensive research. Was between the Doona and the YoYo. Went in person and ended up with the Nuna which wasn’t even on my radar as an option. We got the Nuna trvl lx with the pipa urbn car seat. Bundle is $950. The biggest thing for me was safety and the ability to handle the stroller in an urban area alone. You press a single button and homie folds up like a dream and isn’t heavy at all. While it was ok… The issue with the Doona was it’s a multi step process and not one you can do alone while holding a baby in one arm. The Nuna stroller is newborn and toddler ready which was a huge plus for us. Car seat easily pops in and is a dream in terms of putting in the car without the need for a base. You can also attach with a seatbelt. Overall very happy with our purchase!! Highly encourage you to look in person to make the best decision.

I didn’t use one with my first and I did with my second and it is honestly just so easy to be able to click them in to their stroller in the bucket. For me it made the biggest difference with errands and appointments. Without it, just being able to stop at a grocery store was a pain pulling her out and getting the carrier on, or if she was sleeping I couldn’t stop because I didn’t want to wake her. With my 2nd baby and the travel system (we have the Nuna) it’s so much easier. I just click her in and zip in and out of the store. Same with appointments etc. it was still a hard pill to swallow buying a $500 car seat we would use for only a year, but it’s definitely been worth it.

So we started out with the Nuna travel system and got bases for my car, my husbands truck and my moms car. I got the cheaper stroller of their line with my first that the car seat attaches to. When he outgrew the infant car seat at about a year, I got the Evolve 360 as others have recommended and love it, I highly recommend that one while they’re still rear facing. Now that he’s facing forward he can just crawl in himself so we have a cheaper one and will use the evolve for my 2 month old once he outgrows the infant car seat. For my second I am reusing the infant car seat and bought the nicer stroller secondhand that the car seat can click into, but also has a comfier seat attachment and bassinet attachment. If I had to do it over, I may look at other brands that do the same thing but less expensive than Nuna, but overall happy with our experience and their products.

Love my nuna. We have the pipa lite rx and I’m a lil salty cause now I wanna try the new one cause the paddings thicker but our car seats still good lol OP I’d suggest just googling car seat features to read abt them and then decide what features you absolutely want and then look for car seats w those features. Some people like to skip the infant car seat and get a convertible which can go from infancy to a range between toddler & big kid. I personally don’t like convertibles and feel safer w an infant car seat. I also like the convenience of using the car seat on the stroller for a quick trip vs taking the bassinet but for longer trips you’ll need the bassinet (baby shouldn’t be in car seat for more than 2 hrs) unless your car seat goes flat (I think cybex has made some like that but I’m not sure). I picked the nuna b/c of the load leg and the extra cover that’s in the canopy. I’ve seen some better ones but they weren’t avail at the time or they were EU only 😭 but I do love it. I don’t love that you have to click both buttons on the carry bar to get it off our stroller cause that’s annoying but we make do. Some people like the stroller-car seat in one thing but I personally don’t trust that and I don’t want dirty/wet wheels on/near my cars seat

I highly recommend looking at the Nuna URBN car seat. There are a couple different stroller pairs you can get with it, we have the TRVL. But the URBN doesn’t require a base which is amazing for traveling. The TRVL stroller is light weight, one hand open and close. We loved the set so much, especially has big travelers.

The lighter Nuna car seat was absolutely worth it for me as a petite woman. Also getting the matching Nuna TRVL stroller with the one handed open/close that doesn’t require any additional pieces for that car seat to click into it was a game changer for travel when kiddo was an infant. We also have the Nuna Rava now which is extraordinarily comfy. Feel bad when we travel and we put the kid in a cheaper car seat that’s more portable. The difference is incredibly noticeable. The Tripp Trapp we also love with the various attachments for each stage of life. If my next kid is not a good sleeper, I’ll rent the snoo. Didn’t need it with my first. ETA: Again for travel, the Guava Lotus and Slumperpod are also amazing to have. Plus the No Reception Club carry-on and diaper bags.

I don't know why everyone is recommending the doona. If you're walking around NYC - it will not be a comfortable stroller. With all the cracks and bumps on the street. With zero storage. Hard Pass. You can get a regular nuna pipa rx. You can strap the baby into any car. And get adapters to click into other strollers like Uppababy.

Ahh well I have the Cruz and I love it. A lot of people dislike the configurations of the vista but the new model seems nicer. I would go with the seats over the bassinet and just add a snug seat to it. I would go nuna for the car seat. It’s all around a favorite. Every baby is different but I’ve ever head anybody really dislike it.

Also a first time mom who knows we want more than one kid. I tried to think about my lifestyle and what stroller investment made the most sense for us. I got the Thule Urban Glid 3 jogger that should last us 6+ years, a Nuna Pipa Rx infant car seat, an adapter for my car seat to clip into my stroller, and a newborn rated Thule nest (not a bassinet) attachment for my stroller.  Here were some of my considerations: - We don’t live in a city, more like a town. We don’t have sidewalks or well paved roads in my neighborhood, or on large parts of my standard walking routes - god willing, we’ll have another kid in the next few years and won’t get into a car accident, so we can get the next size up car seat and then use the infant one again for baby 2 - I am a runner and know I’d eventually probably want a jogger anyway - we are a bit outdoorsy and wanted a stroller that could handle all terrain - the car seat to stroller attachment piece wasn’t that expensive and looks very easy to use - we’re due in 3.5 weeks and it’ll be cold enough out, and the nest is better for cold, and we’re unlikely going to want to stop and unclip a bassinet to just hang out outside with baby - I could buy a bassinet attachment down the line with baby 2 if they are born in a warmer season  I think the biggest thing I realized after hours of stroller research that the best options is what will work for your life. You could live in a big city apartment with stairs to walk up or have to take public transit a lot, in which case, my ~24lb stroller would be a bad option in comparison to something like a Doona. It’s all relative. Good luck searching!!

I have the Nuna pipa rx and the triv stroller. The pipa urbn did not have all the safety features I wanted, as another user mentioned above. Would really only get it if you plan to take Ubers/taxis etc. I also tested the trvl stroller in store along with the triv and mixx. The trvl, while very lightweight and easily collapsible, did not have the option to rear face when using the stroller seat (you can rear face the car seat though). It also felt very flimsy, as though a strong breeze could knock it over. The triv could rear face, it was only about 5 lbs heavier, and it collapsed just as easily. I preferred it over the mixx which was very large and much heavier. Overall, if you are just using it in your own car to go about your town, I wouldn’t recommend this system, but I would recommend other products in the Nuna line. We paid $400 for the pipa rx and $700 for the triv stroller. For reference

Currently in the same boat as you— due in March! We started stroller browsing and one thing I took notice of is the bassinet has no straps/safety so with suburban walking, it makes sense because it’s just flat sidewalks. (Also, the idea of not having to take the baby out and letting them sleep after a walk vs removing from a car seat is a nice bonus.) But city wise with uneven pavements, hills, etc, I worry baby will be rolling and sliding around. This is why we’re leaning to skip it. Also, since baby is due in March, the weather will still be rainy and cold so I don’t know how many long walks we’ll be taking in the stroller. We’re torn between a nuna and uppababy vista stroller and after going to the store to push them around, we noticed nuna has thicker/heavier wheels with more suspension vs uppababy feels like a smoother ride for flat streets with easier turning. Ultimately for our lifestyle, we’re going with the uppababy vista 3 with the nuna aire car seat (getting the adaptor) I recommend finding a stroller shop that will let you test the strollers out— fold them up, see how they lay, use their weighed test doll to feel the difference while pushing once that baby is in it. (This made a big difference for us since nuna felt a lot heavier as opposed to the vista while pushing.)

Hey! I’d recommend looking into the Nuna TRVL LX + Pipa URBN! That’s what I have and have really loved it. Just took baby on her first plane trip at 2 months old and it was great. My beef with the Doona (many of my friends have it) is mainly rooted in the idea that since it tries to be both car seat and stroller it fails at being a very good one of either of those things. Yes it can do both, but not very well in my opinion. It’s a huge, clunky, heavy car seat with a giant base, and a small, rickety, no-frills stroller which can’t navigate much more than well paved surfaces. The Nuna Pipa URBN is a baseless car seat which is lightweight and seamlessly integrates with the TRVL LX stroller, which is also a great stroller in its own right. The stroller folds flat, is lightweight, can be used on its own with infants, has large enough wheels to navigate varied terrain, and is tall enough that you won’t have to hunch. All around just a better long term solution in my opinion. Happy to answer any additional questions if you or anyone else has them, but I’m sure there are lots of other reviews you can find online too
