I have heard the Uppababy car seats have improved from when I was looking but will always suggest a Nuna infant car seat over an Uppababy for the simple fact that Nuna car seats are compatible with many different brands of strollers should you have different needs with a possible baby #2 or if you travel by plane and bring a smaller travel stroller. What are you planning to do with your stroller? Are you outdoorsy people? Will it mostly be used indoors or on smooth sidewalks? Do you live in the suburbs and need to load it in and out of the car frequently? How important is storage to you?
r/Buyingforbaby • First time mom- travel system recommendations? ->Same situation here, living in a city and without a car. We were prioritizing getting a good and reliable stroller for the baby and decided on the Bugaboo fox 5. But we do want to take a few road trips over the summer during our paternity leave and probably also fly so we just looked up the car seat that works with the stroller base (Nuna turtle - 250$), it can be clipped in any car with the seat belts and on arrival attached to the stroller - so the bassinet doesn’t have to be carried too.
r/BabyBumps • Best Infant Car Seat when we have no car? ->I don’t have a full system but the nuna car seat and its adapters work well with our stroller (babyzen yoyo). We do find it’s easier to release one side at a time.
r/NewParents • Are all stroller/car seat travel systems awful? ->Our nuna car seats are hands down the best. We’ve bought cheap brands for travel + the maxi cosi’s for grandparents cars to compare. The nuna feels the sturdiest, highest end, and the thing doesn’t budge. It’s also incredibly comfortable and grows with your kids.
r/HENRYfinance • What baby items were worth splurging on? ->Keep the Nuna carseat, get a Cybex Gazelle with bassinet attachment and/or Nuna carseat adapter attachment. Done.
r/Buyingforbaby • Stroller/Carseat Situation - Someone please just tell me what to do ->I just scored a deal for a Nuna car seat and stroller system through Crate & Barrel, about $350 off around a month or two ago? Color wasn’t my top choice (we got the navy/ocean blue and I love the look of the black and the brown leather detail, but for almost $400 off I’ll take the navy lol)
r/BabyBumps • Black Friday deals…?? ->We also have the era. I love that you can recline it flat for walks. We got nuna car seat because I liked the materials and it's very light. I'm not sure if it'll fit in a small car (it fits great in my Rav) but definitely another option to look into. I found the Chicco car seat very heavy and bulky in comparison
r/BabyBumpsCanada • What stroller / car seat is everyone getting? [qc] ->Sometimes Nordstrom discounts Nuna products. We got our infant car seat on Black Friday a few years back for my first.
r/BabyBumps • Black Friday deals…?? ->I think personal preference, personality, first time parents, and overconsumption is a huge part of this. As a FTM, husband and I wanted to splurge specifically on a nuna system (mainly because you didn’t need a base in every car to use and I see resale ones on FB marketplace), but were lucky as heck a grandparent wanted to gift us the funds for it… Aside from that initial planned investment, I asked for pre-loved clothes at my shower. Registered for a microwave sterilizer vs a machine. Couldn’t decide on a carrier bc they are overwhelming to pick and so expensive, so I settled for a boba wrap at least for the newborn phase. Even though they were gifts I wasn’t paying for, I didn’t want to contribute to overconsumption. Curious if there are specific items you are looking for? You got this!
r/NewParents • Is everyone on baby/parenting subs rich?!? ->Nuna makes an awesome infant carrier we just got two bases
r/Parenting • One baby, two cars often in use... ->We have the nuna and I don’t feel like it’s heavy at all. I’m dad so maybe that’s why but it’s super super light compared to my brothers Doona. Also, my nephew who is 30th percentile has already grown out of his Doona at 1. Plus the tires on the Doona are tiny. And plastic. I routinely run over large rocks/curbs/anything I wasn’t with our nuna and my 11 month old loves it.
r/NewParents • Should I get the doona infant car seat? Is it better than the nuna travel system? ->No man that thing weighs more than my son. My SIL is tiny. Like 4-11, 100lbs and the only way she gets that beast out of my brothers truck is basically just chucking it. Plus, those wheels just aren’t made as well as the Nunas. All my friends have children and of all of our car seat/stroller systems I can confidently say the Nuna is the best I’ve seen. By a wide margin Edit: my 11 month old is also gonna fit in the Nuna for a long time still. He’s almost too big for my nephews Doona already
r/NewParents • Should I get the doona infant car seat? Is it better than the nuna travel system? ->My biggest suggestion is to test drive them if you can. My requirement was one that I could maneuver one handed as I walk the the dog at the same time. I was able to get a Nuna off Craigslist for a good price, so that's what we went with. So far I am happy with its maneuverability and how easy it is to click in the cars eat, Bassinet, etc. It is a bit on the heavy side though and takes up a lot of trunk space in the car.
r/BabyBumps • Best stroller/car seat/combo ->Yeah, we had major sticker shock looking at strollers. I checked the 2nd hand market every day to see if we could snag either a nuna or uppababy. Eventually, I got super lucky, and the Nuna came up at a very reasonable price with multiple attachments. Typically, the car seat is sold separately from the stroller. You can mix and match some brands if you get the right attachment. I know you can use the Nuna car seat with the uppababy stroller.
r/BabyBumps • Best stroller/car seat/combo ->I think the Nuna is one of, if not *the* lightest infant seat on the market!
r/BabyBumps • Can someone please explain stroller/ car seats and what I actually need 😭 so completely overwhelmed with options ->I didn’t use one with my first and I did with my second and it is honestly just so easy to be able to click them in to their stroller in the bucket. For me it made the biggest difference with errands and appointments. Without it, just being able to stop at a grocery store was a pain pulling her out and getting the carrier on, or if she was sleeping I couldn’t stop because I didn’t want to wake her. With my 2nd baby and the travel system (we have the Nuna) it’s so much easier. I just click her in and zip in and out of the store. Same with appointments etc. it was still a hard pill to swallow buying a $500 car seat we would use for only a year, but it’s definitely been worth it.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [BC] Tell me about your experience with NOT using an infant bucket seat/travel system ->CPST- feel free to PM me for more details or suggestions. Basically some of the more expensive brands are more complicated to install or are outgrown more quickly. For instance the nuna infant seat needs a rolled towel to get it level in most vehicles. Uppababy infant seats are outgrown very quickly. You mentioned Clek but Clek is one brand that is very recommended by techs. I own 3 of them myself. The Clek liing is one of the most highly recommended infant seats on the market. We couldn't use it in our vehicles because we have Ev's but that would have been my top pick otherwise. We own 3 Clek foonfs. The Clek also has adaptors for uppababy strollers if you go that route.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • General Question about infant car seats & CPST recommendations. [NS] ->I’m a third time mom. I have a 17, 15 and 22 month old. The Nuna Car Seat is a splurge but well worth it! I am a registered nurse turned stay at home mom so believe me when I say it’s compact, simple to use and durable!
r/BabyBumps • I'm a first time mom and am totally lost as to where to start looking for a stroller/carseat. ->i’ve had two nunas; you HAVE to rear face them for infants my dude (preferably as long as possible). and let me tell you; when i had a mazda 3, it made the front passenger seat unusable. i had to get an outback as a 2nd family car to make it work and they’re known to have a gigantic rear passenger seating area. there’s no way i’m breaking my back trying to fit my kid in the back of my brz lmao; maybe once he can front-face and climb in/out himself, then i’ll consider it
r/GR86 • Need a car seat and stroller for a Newborn ->you can make it work as long as the nuna base fits (i dont see why it wouldnt) but the front passenger seat needs to be pushed all the way out front. since youre looking at nunas, i definitely recommend getting a base/stroller/ carseat combo so you can just clip in and out without having to struggle actually putting your infant in the seat
r/GR86 • Need a car seat and stroller for a Newborn ->I think you'll be happy with either stroller - but I would really recommend looking at Nuna car seats instead of UB. UB just doesn't design their seats as well and there are more issues with fit than Nuna ever has. Do you expect another kid in the near future? I prefer the fold of the Demi to the Vista. I get so annoyed with closing the Vista and opening it, but it is a dream to push! I also love that the Demi comes with a built in mosquito net, and the second kid seat is not reduced limits like on the Vista. I never even tried the Demi unfortunately and I regret it!!
r/BabyBumps • Stuck between Nuna and Uppababy ->I also went with the Doona for travel and uppababy for the stroller / bassinet. However, I read a ton of similar complaints about the car seat so I went with the Nuna car seat. It easily snaps in to the uppababy with the attachment and works really well.
r/BabyBumps • Stuck between Nuna and Uppababy ->We have the UPPAbaby Cruz, a bugaboo butterfly, and had the bugaboo turtle air until it was damaged by TSA. I considered this a complete system and I loved it. The Cruz is perfect for big long walks and the bassinet was a lifesaver. The butterfly is great for keeping in the car and travel and any nuna, clek, or maxi Cosi will work with it. We love our butterfly so much that we considered switching to the fox but I don't like the fold in comparison to the Cruz. I would definitely recommend squeezing in the butterfly as part of your system if you can. A lightweight stroller is a godsend. Go for the Cruz since it's cheaper if you can to help with getting the butterfly. And depending on when you're due, maximize sales. We got the Cruz for $525 and the bugaboo turtle air for $325 (they were clearing out stock before coming out with the latest one a few months later). With that you could definitely add the UPPAbaby bassinet and the butterfly and stay within your $1500 budget.
r/Buyingforbaby • Stroller and infant car seat recommendations, budget ~$1500 ->Why not the turtle air? Isn't it basically the same as the nuna but branded for bugaboo? I had the one before the current one and when I had an issue (TSA damaged it, nothing with the car seat itself) I emailed nuna still and they were very helpful so I don't see the difference
r/Buyingforbaby • Stroller and infant car seat recommendations, budget ~$1500 ->Oh that's not true! I thought that before I got one too but it's the same as the Nuna so it works with any stroller that uses the same adapters as nuna, clek, or maxi cosi
r/Buyingforbaby • Stroller and infant car seat recommendations, budget ~$1500 ->I have the bugaboo fox 5 (which I love) and a nuna turtle air car seat (which was free) but I so rarely use the car seat as part of the travel system (taking car seat out and putting it on wheels) that I think I’ll just do some research at some stage and find the best car seat I can find. My friend gave me a costatto 360 car seat and it’s amazing. It does birth - 7 years old. It currently lives in my sister’s house for when I visit by train but I’m tempted to take it for my own car.
r/BabyBumps • Can’t decide on which stroller to get ->
