If you want 1440p, I will advise you to go ultrawide, it's really amazing, and you will never go back.
I've "downgraded" from a 27" 4k to a 34" ultrawide 1440p, and it's so much better.
Tested ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQL3A and Gigabyte G34WQC2.
Gigabyte G34WQC2 came out as the winner with respect to colors and contrast. Motion on VG34VQL3A was better.
I'm using the ASUS VG34VQL3A and I'm pretty happy with it. The curve is very subtle and with Overdrive on 20 the ghosting is also not bad. Its eye-searing bright too, so if you are also a psycho that like to play at max brightness its an amazing monitor.
yeah, the asus tuf vg34vql3a is a solid pick at 330 euro. for a 34 inch ultrawide you get a high refresh rate, decent contrast from the va panel, and good motion handling for gaming. it is not perfect for color critical work, but for gaming and everyday use it is good value at that price.
fwiw my mate and i recently did an analysis on reddit data for ultrawide gaming monitors and ranked them by aggregated sentiment from the past year. if you google redditrecs you can compare similar 34 inch models by refresh rate and panel type and see what people mention most often. some links are affiliate and help fund the analysis.
