I eliminated the 2725 series monitors all together due to the coil whine issue. U2724DE I will look at. Wish it had a 32" model where I am at. I also want eye strain certification. I monitor i have now is also an ultrasharp from Dell has been fantastic for more than 10 years. If you want a curved one I have an p3421. No complaints from that monitor either. Write back if you find something from other brands. Good luck.

I tested those Dell’s side by side. The most noticeable is the outer 5-7cm. With 1900r it’s a good read. With the 3800r i had the feeling i had to move my chair 20cm to the left or right.

A day traders “wet dream!” Absolutely love the setup.! I have two 40in MSI monitors I use for trading and a 34in curved Dell for work (I also work from home).

I love my G9 57 but its a lot of display. I have MS Fancy Tiles which lets me snap my windows to whatever size I want and I have it set to give me 5120x2160 in the center and then on both side I have 1280x2160 which is plenty of space for my music program, or discord or whatever its nice. I came from 3 displays. Two 23" 1080p displays and in the middle a dell 34" ultrawide. I liked that but with my G9 57 I dont miss having 3 displays at all there is just so much room on this one its more than I know what to do with sometimes. Mind you, I've had 3x displays for over 10 years. I tried going down to 2 but that didnt work out I had to get my three again. I dont miss it now though. I think if I had only 5120x2160 i'd want two more displays still.

I don’t game. Do you think it’s an overkill just for software development? I currently have a Dell 34” ultra wide, it has a DPI of 109 which I absolutely hate.

That's the post I needed, people from /r/oled_gaming are obnoxious to the point of being jerks to anyone who questions their OLED religion. I'm currently using an ultrawide curved Dell 34” and am looking towards an upgrade that I can use with Thunderbolt. This 40” Dell monitor seems great for this, and the KVM will allow me to ditch two devices from my desk, which sounds lovely. Thanks a lot for spending your time on writing this!

I’d recommend against a 34 inch ultrawide for Mac. The PPI just isn’t high enough so text will look jagged or blurry. You can counter this by scaling everything about 50% which causes another issue and that is everything will be to big and you’ll loose a lot of workspace. I’ve sold my 34 inch Dell (which I only owned for about 1.5 year) after 2 weeks of owning a Mac Mini because I couldn’t stand it and went for a 32 inch 16:9 4K monitor. I use it at about 20% scaling (3008px wide if I remember correctly) giving me roughly the same workspace as a 34 inch ultrawide with way sharper text. However since you already use a 27inch 1440p the PPI of a 3440x1440 34inch will be rough the same so if the text currently doesn’t bother you then it could be fine.
