I've been rocking with the HP Omen 34c 165hz for replacing my 21.5 inch monitors my job gave me. Definitely a good balance for 1440p gaming. Good brightness, and I think a 110 PPI, so not too hazy when looking at pixels up close. I got mines from BB for 369, no sale but I'm sure you could find it cheaper. It's a great monitor to game on.
I have this L Desk if you've got the space for it. It's got a wooden corner that lets me sit my 45" deep in the corner. Tons of room and now I've got a dual monitor arm that lets me sit the LG below and my 34" Omen up top. That monitor is too close how you have it now lol definitely will be an eye strain. I upgraded from older 35" HP Omen UW to LG 45" OLED recently and if you want immersion the 45" is the way to go. I would have been fine with the 39" too, but for only a couple hundred more, I'm glad I went 45.
I'm using a HP Omen Ultrawide curved and it's great.
i am using my M4 Mac Mini with a HP Omen 34" Ultrawide. It displays at 3440x1440 100hz and it's great, no need for Betterdisplay or Monitorcontrol. I'm using my own HDMI cable.
