Would love to get back into ultrawide monitors! Used to use an LG 34GK950G-B and loved it but had to move on to something more pixel dense due to work

It comes down to your aims and your games. I messed around with several displays last year. One of them was the other samsung g9. The 1ms 1000R 49" display. While there were things I liked about it, it had a number of drawbacks. Some games felt rather immersive after fiddling (1000R is quite an extreme curve), but other games had no support in that range. My aim is content and personal gaming and to that extent I found it more useful to go with a smaller display (34" LG 34950G-B). It was about the same size and curve (1900R) as my previous display, but just better overall. This allowed me enough real estate on my desktop to keep a second display for obs/etc. This also helped maintain decent frame rates on my 3070 while recording. If you only game, you don't have this added constraint. I also don't like playing some games in windowed mode and some older games (e.g. Shogun 2) have issues running that way. So without knowing what you plan to do with the display it's hard to give you sound advice about which is best for you beyond what you already seem to know- 21:9 has broader default support atm. 32:9 resolution didn't exist for me in some games and plenty older games just might look like crap because they won't be getting updates. I will say, however, that the 34" on amazon I bought refurbed or whatever for 1-200 off what it was priced at at the time. There is a single pixel that is red/green somewhere on the screen outside the "main" viewing area. I can't see it right now unless I drag a black window around to spot it. Rather worth it for me. So keep an eye out sometimes as they have open boxes discounted. You just want to check for any burnouts/etc.

I use a 34 curved ips from LG. There are also mini LEDs from TCL.

If you get the 34" IPS LG, it's produced a good picture so far.

I still have a 34" LG IPS monitor, it's a good piece of equipment, and until I find the right OLED...👌

If i have to choose like you in similar case I'd go for 57". I used to be gamer before I became a dev and for past 3 years I've been gaming maybe in total 50 hours. Current I use dual monitor setup -> 34" LG ultragear and 24" 1080p. If I have the money I'd take as much as possible more wider screen than caring that much for gaming.

For immersion in adventure games or racing get the 39. If PPI matters get the 34. What made me return the 39 and get the 34 was the fringing and how everything looks stretched. In competitive games you will noticed a bunch of artifacts, jagged edges, and text fringing. Dota 2 for example, after a match I was so exhausted that I couldn't even look at the screen anymore. Same for Age of Empires.

I use the LG ultragear 34". I'm not sure if it's the exact same model that you say is not in stock. It's the best monitor Ive I've had though, so I'd say it's worth doing some digging. I tried some VA panels, and they had the dreaded VRR/AdaptiveSync flicker issue that so many get. I've heard OLEDs get them too. I'd never go back to gaming without VRR, especially at high refresh rates. The one I returned before getting the LG even flickered on the desktop sometimes. IPS hardly ever has that issue.
