All discontinued, out of support and no longer available through regular vendors.

I have an [LG 34 GP 950 G](https://www.lg.com/de/monitore/gaming/34gp950g-b/?srsltid=AfmBOopvwdI341ouMVuFuW5NQGtdaLnf7P3UwAqbVNjPqfO3GU5Fp696), it has a 1900 radius and I'm sitting at the perfect distance so everything appears straight.

So my LG ultragear IPS of 5 years died today. Looking getting another ultrawide. It seems like theres hardly any available from samsung or LG, its either VA, which is nice and cheap but he picture quality sucks, im not downgrading. Or oled, which has amazing picture quality but worried about burn in. Hardly any IPS monitors which i felt like a good trade off. There seems to be a few but missing a lot of features or really expensive. All i want is 120Hz+ QHD HDMI for PS5 AUX for my desktop speakers and good picture quality. It seems like theres always some trade off. the LG 34GP950G looks like it was perfect but seems discontinued. Theres also the LG 34GP83A, but at $749, I might as well buy the OLED LG and risk burn in for the same price and get better image quality and console gaming features. any other suggestions? are my fears of the oled valid? id like to get another 5 years of my new monitor

I have an RTX5090 with the 39gx950b. I run games with full ray or path tracing and Max out most settings at ultra. I use DLSS to get the fps I need. I can't really tell much degradation all the way down to DLSS performance mode during gameplay. Though maybe if you zoom into some pixels you might see better output with balanced or quality, but if youre busy playing I dont think you'll notice any difference using DLSS performance or balanced. For single player games I use frame Gen to get the frame rate close to 165. I dont notice much input lag when using a controller. Maybe it could be different for mouse and keyboard. But I dont notice anything except a smoother moving image when using a game controller. Its definitely harder to run, and if a better video card than a 5090 existed I would want to upgrade. But the 5090 is enough to drive pixels on the screen such that the overall image quality is way better than my former 34gp950b screen at 3440x1440. In fact its a whole lot better. So for me its still a massive upgrade in image quality even though I need to go from DLSS quality at 3440x1440 to balanced or performance with 5k2k. Which is all that really matters for me. Once a new generation video card comes out maybe we can get it to look slightly better by turning off those features, but I dont expect it to be as big of a leap as going from the 34gp950 to the 39gx950 Overall 5090 is good enough for this display. Note I dont play competitive online games at a high level. If you do, then you may need to turn off some graphical features to get good latency. But at that point you dont care that the image doesn't look super good anyway right? You only care about winning. So dialing back graphical settings will get your frames up.

It comes down to your aims and your games. I messed around with several displays last year. One of them was the other samsung g9. The 1ms 1000R 49" display. While there were things I liked about it, it had a number of drawbacks. Some games felt rather immersive after fiddling (1000R is quite an extreme curve), but other games had no support in that range. My aim is content and personal gaming and to that extent I found it more useful to go with a smaller display (34" LG 34950G-B). It was about the same size and curve (1900R) as my previous display, but just better overall. This allowed me enough real estate on my desktop to keep a second display for obs/etc. This also helped maintain decent frame rates on my 3070 while recording. If you only game, you don't have this added constraint. I also don't like playing some games in windowed mode and some older games (e.g. Shogun 2) have issues running that way. So without knowing what you plan to do with the display it's hard to give you sound advice about which is best for you beyond what you already seem to know- 21:9 has broader default support atm. 32:9 resolution didn't exist for me in some games and plenty older games just might look like crap because they won't be getting updates. I will say, however, that the 34" on amazon I bought refurbed or whatever for 1-200 off what it was priced at at the time. There is a single pixel that is red/green somewhere on the screen outside the "main" viewing area. I can't see it right now unless I drag a black window around to spot it. Rather worth it for me. So keep an eye out sometimes as they have open boxes discounted. You just want to check for any burnouts/etc.
