I bought an LG 34SR60QC monitor on Saturday because I urgently needed one for working from home. Unfortunately, the screen already has defects with strange white lines near the bottom. I’m returning it this weekend and planning to buy another UltraWide model. My job allows me to expense $600 for my WFH setup, so I’d like to spend reasonably under $800 in total. As an attorney, I’ll be using the computers for over 10-hour days, mainly drafting and reviewing documents. My current shortlist: (1) Dell U3425WE (2) Lenovo P40WD-40 (out of my price range but willing to make the investment if it’s truly worth it) (3) Dell P3425WE (4) LG 34BA85QE-B However, I’m open to suggestions to any that you think might meet the mark better than the ones listed above.
i like the spectrum and LG 34 to 38" 1440p 100hz+ VA and IPS panels, 1500-1800R theyre 200usd and awesome, huge value. 45 inches aren't good value. but also they're just not great for productivity actually. they're just big.
I have a 32 in curved 3440x1440 UW LG and I ended up setting up my 1080P monitor again beside it for screen sharing and music playlist control. WHY NOT BOTH?!
I just bought the LG OLED 5K2K 45” ultrawide. I think there’s a 34” version? My last LG 34” 1440p ultrawide was great too. My last 4 monitors have been LG and they’ve been great.
I went with a 34 1440p over the 32 4k. I had this exact dilemma and got the 32 4k first 240hz. My graphic card was 4090 and it looked great but fps was under 100 all the time. Switched to the 1440p 34 240hz and absolute love the switch. I get like 160hz+ and it’s so smooth and beautiful when playing cod and Diablo
Yeah, 34” LG UW 1440p over HDMI here and no complaints either.
Hi guys, I just upgraded to an LG 34" 3440x1440 and while I like the format, I just can't deal with the pixel density. I'm on Retina Displays since the 2012 Macbook came out and just can't go back. Hence, I'm gonna return the monitor and get another one. I have access to Chinese brands and there are basically two options: 40" 5120x2160 LG Nano IPS 120Hz 27" 5120x2880 LG IPS 60Hz (600 USD) 32" 6144x3456 LG IPS 60Hz (1000USD - a bit too much for CN gamble) I cant decide between 27 and 40 - I kinda like the widescreen format, but not sure if the the pixel density of the 40 will be good enough? Anyone has experience with a 40" 5k, and can share if they are happy with Pixel density? https://preview.redd.it/w1k5moki26gf1.jpg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bf3a3989efbefef96e21afcec98ad94dac03b04f https://preview.redd.it/q1y6t2kj26gf1.jpg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e9fcc5c352e1d403eb9610089548a4b99acf39e5
I have neither of those monitors. I use a old LG 3440x1440 34". That only has 108ppi resolution while the mentioned 5k2k displays have 140ppi. However, MacOS has scaling problems with everything that is not "retina" resolution, so everything below ~200ppi. I find the text to be a bit blurrier on non-Apple displays compared to Windows. But you get used to it. Also the built-in window management is complicated, sluggish and not really suitable for ultrawide monitors, you'll want additional software like Better Touch Tool or Rectangle.
