so far ok, but sometimes a bit annoying because the preview is so far away(i am now always sitting in the middle of the monitor) lg 38WK95C-W, 3800x1600px 39" ultrawide curved, also 32" 4k and 27" left and right for multitasking

I also work in IT (web development) and use Photoshop/Lightroom privately as a hobby photographer; I also play games on it. I generally like using my ultrawide monitor (LG 39" 3840x1600px 75Hz, using it for 6+ years now), it's also good for gaming, but unfortunately, there are still some games that don't support ultrawide (Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Digimon Story Time Stranger(relatively new game)). With these games, I either use windowed mode at 1440p or have black bars on the left and right. When working/programming, I use it in split-screen mode, meaning two windows side-by-side in Windows 11. Additionally, I have a 4K 16:9 monitor as a second screen on which I have other programs, Outlook, designs/templates, etc., open.

I had a 3 monitor setup and I went to a 1 monitor setup, I'll describe below: **Original setup - 3 monitors** Monitor 1 = LG 38wk95c 38" 21:9 WQHD+ 3840x1600 Monitor 2 = Dell U2713HMT 27" 16:9 WQHD 2560x1440 Monitor 3 = Dell U2713HMT 27" 16:9 WQHD 2560x1440 they were setup with monitor as my main and 2 and 3 above as below. Monitor 2 Monitor 3 Monitor 1 **New setup - 1 monitor** Monitor = Samsung 57" Odyssey Neo G9 27" 32:9 DUHD 7680x2160 My main objective was to reduce physical desktop footprint and maximize productivity. I work from home and game so was looking for compromise between both use cases. In my research I considered the LG 5K2K and Samsung 57". My main metric I looked at was the screen real estate - specifically the resolution area I would have to play with. Original setup provided 13,516,800 total pixels LG 5K2K would provide 11,059,200 total pixels Samsung 57" would provide 16,588,800 total pixels With this in mind I decided on the Samsung 57".

IMO, 38" 3840x1600 IPS is the sweet spot for work + gaming. I've been using a discontinued LG monitor for the last 5 years and have been very happy with it.

I have a 38" 3840x1600 monitor (same aspect ratio), that I've been using for work and gaming for the last 5 years and absolutely love it!

I absolutely love my 38" LG (I have the Freesync version). However, I don't see it for sale anymore. I feel 38" is the perfect size, though I suppose a higher resolution would be good. Why not consider the  38WR85QC-W.AUS? It's basically the same as the 38GN except cheaper ($1200). The 40" 5k 2k is also a good option, but I use my UW for both work and gaming so I'd go with the 120hz one.

Lg 34 and 38 ultrawides still have one of the best IPS panels up to date for general multi purpose use. I have had LG 38 IPS for few years now and I will upgrade to LG 39 oled 5k2k eventually.

I am trying to make the same decision - but the LG roadmap having a OLED screen in the same size as the Dell has me waiting - I have the UW3818 and its time for an upgrade - but OLED has me paused waiting for CES sadly

Gaming? The 34 OLEDs are awesome. However, I was doing work and post grad research and found the 38UW IPS to be perfect for editing and reading. I’m sensitive to pixel clarity, like my words sharp.

My home office dual monitor setup is a 32 4k and the monitor to the right is a 38UW. At work it’s dual 27 1440p set up. I’ve done a few different combos, but found the 3840x1600 IPS UW superior for the productivity/research I did. OLED is great for gaming. Mixing the two didn’t work well for me.

I have a 38” LG with a slight curve, maybe 1500R and I really like it. I keep thinking I want to do the LG 5k 45” but it has an extreme curve and I am a bit worried it’s too big for what I need. I mostly use my PC work type productivity but play games on it as well. If you think 45” is too big, look at a 38” or 40”. However, these sizes don’t seem that prevalent.
