The 5K2K is an absolute beast for productivity. I’ve been using it for the past 3 weeks probably 70/30 productivity/gaming. Haven’t had a text clarity issue a single time. That’s writing code, using one note, CLIs, shitty 1080p RDP is still even pretty good. The space this thing has for windows is absolutely insane. I paired it with a vertical 24” for some of my static work elements like Slack and Outlook and I’m never looking back. I picked mine up for $1,400
I PowerPoint zero percent. I do use excel and databases constantly. Hasn’t bothered me a bit. The first day you use the monitor it feels super weird but after 10-15 hours of use you don’t even notice the curve at all.
I just for the 45 inch 5k2k and man I love this thing. Editing photos on it has been a blast.
I took the plunge 5 years ago and got a 49inch ultrawide monitor, and honestly it’s great. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. I had tried a curvature of 800R and it was too much for me, so I went with a Samsung C49RG90 which has a lighter curve, and that’s perfect. That said, one thing becomes an issue over time: the lack of height. With a 32:9 screen you get a lot of horizontal space, but in my opinion not enough vertical space, and the ideal format would actually be 21:9. LG released what is almost the perfect monitor, the LG 45GX950, but the curvature is too pronounced for my taste. It’s tricky because some people will love a curve like that. Also it’s crazy expensive. In short, the first thing I would consider is the screen height.
This monitor is not good… i had it for a week and thought i had an issue with my gpu or something.. its do dim.. i guess the woled is just extremely dim… so i returned it and got a samsung odyssey g9 neo 58 inch 4k… and i loveeeee It
I have a 5080 and a 5K2K and nothing is really “tough” to run on it. You just aren’t going to be able to crank everything to the max, and you know what? That’s ok.
Upgraded from the DWF. I felt like the curve would be to extreme as well. But having used the 5K2K for about two months now I can say that the curve is more immersive and it doesn’t bother me at all. Get the 45.
This. Many of us are on 38" 3840x1600 screens that have been waiting years for an upgrade. 45" is way too big for me. Plus that 800r curve is terrible. I would've preferred 2000r in the 39", but 1500r is a lot better than 800r.
The 45" is too big. 38/39" is the sweet spot for me. It covers my entire field of view. The smaller screen will also have higher pixel density. The 1500r curve will make it more versatile for gaming and desktop usage. I would've preferred a 2000r curve, but at least it's not a wild 800r. Many of us have a 38" 3840x1600 screen that we've been waiting years for an upgrade. I have the money, but monitor makers refuse to make the product I want.
Yea I didn't think 34" -> 39" would be that big of a difference, but it feels way more immersive. The extra screen space with the extra curve is nice. I played a bit on my buddies LG 5K2K 45" before he returned it (Gave him bad motion sickness) and it was a bit too much for me.
I’ve not had it long, but the matte coating hasn’t bothered me nearly as much as I thought it would
Not had it long but with my work laptop, Mac and gaming I’ve have no issues with blurry or fringing of text
lg45gx950a also know as the 5k2k. I didn’t put it in the post by mistake. Sorry to everyone who didn’t know which one this was.
