I have been using [this](https://www.amazon.com/LG-34G600A-B-Ultragear-FreeSync-DisplayPort/dp/B0FDC85CGL?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Ld2v1Gtd7LdJpm-hiPRjJ0fyAGRRRvBU96hN2g752GHsjqysyd5y1l0o61ZjEwjQ1JSDwphHcbIB79ZJhMaPNjVZyHBxA4ANmFjzC7-oe0T1t0RnSiJT0MDLxDCBnNwn1t-iAoRwAFbNsiy6ULNIjJJQ59DV_PI3gdkYznOQ8q9fxP_8AKY-vCe8J8y1sX8e1I1y2izTBiCyUqtN_BdLXCAEsTwHaSOXmjYfw6_xkp0.-tS47FQA5z0i0R0ylHKXoHGpE-xiiJxRPZOkZBz7lnA&dib_tag=se&keywords=LG+34GP63A&qid=1770624625&sr=8-1&linkCode=ll2&tag=grok43-20&linkId=fa4fe945af66fcdb94a98db31da35db4&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl) for a while now and it has been working pretty good for me. I would highly recommend it to you. I have been using it for a while now and it works pretty good. It is suitable for your scenario.
I've recently bought the LG UltraGear 34G600A‑B with an 1800R curvature. In my opinion, it's very comfortable for office work and light gaming. A 1500R curvature is too aggressive.
I’m satisfied with the purchase. The huge workspace is exactly what I needed for office work and light Unreal Engine tasks. The colors are very nice, and the contrast and brightness are very good for this type of panel. The monitor uses a VA panel, so you need to be aware of its inherent limitations. As a secondary display, I have a 27-inch OLED, which is obviously far superior for gaming, but for work this LG performs better. The monitor runs at 160 Hz and is G-Sync compatible—although in my case there was some flickering on dark backgrounds (mainly in menus in certain games). However, since it also supports FreeSync Premium, after disabling G-Sync it runs perfectly fine at 160 Hz without any issues. I don’t see a difference between G-Sync and FreeSync—both work well, but the latter doesn’t flicker on dark backgrounds. Because it’s a VA panel, there is some slight ghosting (smearing?) even with the fastest response time setting. That said, it’s not something that ruins the gaming experience. In my case, when playing games like World of Tanks, Disco Elysium, or strategy titles, the effect is minimal (or non existent) and hard to notice. Besides, let’s be honest—there are plenty of games with poorly implemented DLSS that can cause ghosting even on OLED, so it’s not really something to nitpick here. Overall, at just over 200 EUR (which is what I managed to pay), it’s a great monitor with strong capabilities for office work, browsing, etc. And it still allows for comfortable gaming if that’s something you want to do. I’m using it via DisplayPort—no issues at all. Speakers? They’re there, and maybe even better than the ones in my previous 27-inch LG. It’s not an amazing audio experience, but they get the job done. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
I have It! I think it is perfect screen... Colors are very nice looking and blacks are deep... For games I do not notice any black smearing or ghosting at all... Do keep in mind to always use the displayport cable and not Hdmi!! For me i am very happy with it and would definitely recommend!
I am very happy with it though! The monitor is just great!! 325 Euro is lowest price I spot now in the Benelux... So for 267 Euro you will have a very good deal!! In my case I still payed 399 🙈 seems dropped in price since couple of weeks....
How do you feel? I was evaluating it at €350, in the end I went for the LG Ultragear 34G600A for €250 (another monitor without many reviews)
I don't have OLED money.. but I do have a LG G6 34" ultrawide and aside from the blacks not being as good as my ps portal I do very much enjoy the ultrawide 21:9 especially in civ and spiderman.
Tittle fix: Ultra wide monitor suggestions that WON’T bankrupt me Hey I wanted to get yours guys suggestions about a new monitor. Currently I am using a lg curved QHD 1440p 34 inch monitor with 160hz, and I’ve had it for a bit over 3 years now and it’s a great monitor for day to day tasks, but the editing any pictures or videos on it suck. I’ve played around with the setting a bit to see I can make it work but the colors aren’t just not right. Anything I’ve edited on the monitor look very off on other devices. I’ve been just doing everything on the actual MPB display for now but am looking to make a upgrade soon, but I’m having trouble finding any ultra wide bigger then 45 inches that would fit my needs under $750ish, everything seems to be well over $1000. I am looking for a decently large display that is at least 4k with 120hz or higher. I do also have a pc I use pretty much use exclusively for games so having decent performance there would be nice but not as important. Any ideas or suggestions would be nice. Also i was planning on stacking my current monitor on top of whatever I get next and would like to know if anyone has done that before and found it worth while or was it too impractical to keep looking up. Thank you
If i have to choose like you in similar case I'd go for 57". I used to be gamer before I became a dev and for past 3 years I've been gaming maybe in total 50 hours. Current I use dual monitor setup -> 34" LG ultragear and 24" 1080p. If I have the money I'd take as much as possible more wider screen than caring that much for gaming.
For immersion in adventure games or racing get the 39. If PPI matters get the 34. What made me return the 39 and get the 34 was the fringing and how everything looks stretched. In competitive games you will noticed a bunch of artifacts, jagged edges, and text fringing. Dota 2 for example, after a match I was so exhausted that I couldn't even look at the screen anymore. Same for Age of Empires.
