I'm getting the Asus model regardless of price. I have been using the XG34WCDG and I absolutely love it. I still have some time before my return period is up but will be taking advantage of that and getting the PG34WCDN as soon as I'm able to.
I have the Asus XG34WCDG arriving today. It seems to tick all the boxes but reviews are hard to find. It was between this one and the Alienware but I went with this one because it seems to have a few features that would be good for OLED. We'll see but I am looking forward to gaming on it tonight.
I've had the Asus XG34WCDG about a month and am very pleased so far. It's a little more money I think but it has a few features that I think will help with the longevity. It's 175 Hz and makes games look so much better (as do all OLEDs I'm guessing). I kind of took a chance as there weren't many reviews but so far I'm glad i did.
Do you notice the banding in any practical use cases as well, such as in games and in video, or is it only noticeable when looking for it? I planned on getting the xg27awmg as well, but decided last minute to try 21:9 1440p and i got the xg34wcdg instead. I love 21:9 and 3440x1440p is a perfect match for my rtx 5080 and my need for 100+ fps in games. Its an affordable qd oled as well, perhaps becausd it only sports 175hz, but its enough imo. Colors and contrast are great, as youd expect. The only negative that coles to mind is the sensitive coating and the noticeable text fringing. You might want to have a look at it :)
21:9 is great. I have not had a single game that didn't support the format. The only caveat in games is that more often than not, you're gonna have vertical black bars in pre-rendered scenes (eg cutscenes) because cutscenes only render in 16:9. I was also kinda surprised to see how many movies come in 21:9 (those are the ones that have black horizontal bars when viewing on a 16:9 TV/monitor). So yeah - 21:9 is a clear YES in my book. I have read about eye fatigue some people experience with QD-Oled, so I was very sensitive to it in the beginning, but I can now say with confidence that eye-strain isn't more of an issue than it was with my IPS and VAs. The coating is sensitive. I have only had to clean it twice up until now, because I manage to keep my monitor clear of any type of smudges for the most part. When I cleaned it I used distilled water and a very soft microfibre cloth after which it looked good as new. But take this with a grain of salt, because as I said, it was never super dirty to begin with. I had a very close look at the aw3425dw as well, my decision came down to either the Asus xg34wcdg or the aw3425dw. I went with the Asus, mainly because Alienware uses active cooling - it has a small fan built in, and that's a big turn-off for me. The asus uses a large heatsink which obviously is completely silent and up until now it hasn't even gotten warm. So yeah, the only cons are: \- noticeable but acceptable text fringing \- sensitive coating \- VRR flicker when FPS fluctuate wildly (although this is an issue ALL modern oled, woled and qd-oled, suffer from)
Have it since october. Works flawless and gets very bright in SDR
I got both the strix and the Rog ultrawide, both are equally as amazing but I pretty much only use my ultrawide for games. Everything else like YouTube and movies I watch on the strix

I’m considering a new ultra wide and I CANNOT stand OLED due to burn in so I’m ending up going with a ROG Strix 34 inch. It recently went on sale for just $200 compared to the Amazon $600 price tag so.
