You were right about Odyssey G5, it is likely the best looking UW panel in this range. The ghosting is a bit of a tradeoff but in general it's decent, I'd say it's well worth the superior picture quality and contrast ratio, you'll have to adjust colors a bit initially but once done it should look great. I'd really suggest checking it or similar panel irl if you can find to make a decision. I also use a VA Panel for video editing and gaming, and find the ghosting tradeoff well worth the superior contrast.
if you don’t care bout oled, get the MSI MAG 342CQRF E20 or Samsung odeyssey g5 34 both are very solid options
[Odyssey's](https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/s/A8wuNLAUW6) Have a G5 Stacked on top of a G9 49" OLED and honestly it's been an amazing experience. The only thing I did, since G9 is 1800R and G5 is 1000R, the one on Top is stacked a little behind the G9. So, when I sit and look at the screens, they almost connect in my POV. But in your case it could look even more amazing since both are 1000R. But be sure that G5 has those horns on both the sides below the screen, so you might have to stack it a little behind the monitor to get that seamless view. All the best! EDIT: missing words.
No problem. Yeah it is. Just get a good stand to tilt it on the front a few certain degrees. Also, another suggestion, keep your G9’s height a bit lower to accommodate the G5. Otherwise you might end up straining your neck. But depends completely on you.
Decent way to get into UltraWide gaming if you are on a budget. Price @ check out https://preview.redd.it/zyvw82gqtqtf1.jpeg?width=1174&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dd5f8238d4f003b56e41f0df4723d7a085bb865e

Try the BetterDisplay app on your Mac (also agree with the Silkland 80Gbps USB-C to DisplayPort cable. Both made me optimize settings for my M1 Pro MacBook Pro. As I use a 34" Samsung G5 UW mostly for productivity, PPI was a concern. The PPI challenge has me looking at this LG monitor, but at 32 inches feels too small, but 224 PPI means sharp, MacBook Pro clarity. If they added a 40 inch, I'd likely make the jump. G5 34 inch. Lovely, but tempted to go much bigger.
Ran to Best Buy to look at the 45GX950A-B and it was hard to leave without one (two setup on the floor, two in boxes). Price tag helped me leave, but still thinking about it. Tough to look at my 34' Odyssey G5 after that.
Thanks for finding this. Very interested in what PPI this statement ("the V-Stripe structure improves the clarity of text edges, making it ideal for users engaged in text-intensive tasks such as document editing, coding, or content creation") will mean for the new panels. Love my G55T, but the lower PPI difference from my work-issued MacBook Pro M4 is a challenge (I'm not allowed to install anything on the machine as it is a work machine, so no BetterDisplay options for me). Pricing will be interesting as the LG 32U990A-S with its 224 PPI IPS black panel has been becoming more tempting, despite the price.
I recently got the 34" Samsung Odyssey G5 ultrawide with 1000R curve. I also have 3 x 27" triples, but relocating to a smaller area meant that I couldn't fit them in. The 34" isn't as good for visibility - nowhere near in fact. BUT if your options are a single standard monitor vs ultrawide, then ultrawide wins. JUST. The loss in height is a factor, and you \_will\_ need to drag your monitor closer to run a half decent FOV, but overall it is better. One thing I will also say, is that I feel like I'm hitting my marks (apexes, turn-in and braking points, etc.) more consistently on the ultrawide than I was on triples. No idea why. Perhaps the lack of bezels is a factor?
