Never seen that. I own a store with 100s of gaming monitors, LG, Samsung, Alienware, BenQ, even some Sony inzone monitors but never that lol. I got the g9 49 oled 240hz 0.03ms I sell those for $850 I had the neo g9 49 with a 0.01 Ms response time but currently out of stock on those.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Samsung G9 49” OLED 144Hz ->Bruh, 32:9 ALL THE WAY with a G9 Neo 49 and NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEERRRRRR look back. You won't be able to once you experience it.
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ? ->My LG5k2k is yet to give out unlike my Neo 49 Odyssey that I had for 1.5 years, so I still give a slight win to the LG, personally. I use mine for work, and I must admit, I was concerned going to a smaller screen from the Neo, yet the added height more than makes up for it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG5K2K Review (Samsung G9 OLED Owner) ->This. I had the G9 Neo 47” from launch and it was great, but the 57” blows it out of the water. Quite a bit more resolution and the bigger size just makes it vastly more usable.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultra Wide - Productivity ->Work/Productivity and value only? Probably yes. OLED is out of question, so you're stuck with VA or IPS. Unless you need Samsung most of the 32:9 VA panels are the same 144hz/240hz panel Samsung uses - you might find a cheaper 32:9 VA from ASUS, Acer, Phillips, Illyama, AOC - most use the exact same panel, some OC it out of box or offer other stuff that could actually be interesting for work/productivity (like a built in kvm, usb-c power delivery, speakers, etc.). LG does 32:9 IPS panels, better color and viewing angles on those make it interesting for productivity/work too, depending on the type of work. So I would keep those in mind and check the pricing in your country. Maybe there's a better option, otherwise the entry level G9 is totally fine for work.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • SAMSUNG 49 inch Odyssey Curved Black Dual QHD Gaming Monitor, 144 Hz LS49FG910ENXZA is this the best value option for work productivity only? ->Samsung QD-OLED G9 is quite stunning, since they're glossy like the Macbook's they pop really well in color. Otherwise you don't have many options except for MiniLED backlights in the Neo G9 49"and the G9 57", with the G9 57" being the main attraction due to its size and resolution (Dual UHD). Unfortunately those are VA panels, but they're still very good compared to a few years ago. There's no MiniLED IPS 32:9's unfortunately like on the Macbook. Only OLED, VA, VA + MiniLED, IPS, IPS Black.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is there a 49 inch super ultrawide monitor that can be visually stunning as display of apple mac book pro m3 (2024) ->Yeah, I actually prefer the 1000R curve on my G9 Neo vs the G9 OLED's 1800R. Productivity included.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG5K2K Review (Samsung G9 OLED Owner) ->\- LG Reliability > Samsung Reliability (my G9 Neo has flickering issues, My OLED version won't go above 120 hz anymore) \- Even more power required to drive games on the 57" vs LG. \- 21:9 > 32:9 IMO (and very subjective, but a reason nonetheless for many).
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG5K2K Review (Samsung G9 OLED Owner) ->I just picked up the LG 45” GX9 5k2k to replace my Samsung 49” Neo G9 panel, which I’ll be selling to recoup at least some of the $2k this thing cost. 32:9 is too wide for anything gaming but racing IMO. Shooters make me dizzy on 32:9 49” At the moment I’m a bit nervous it’ll be too big ( and colors of WOLED ) still— I was hoping to wait until the 39” version but now hearing that won’t be until later in 2026 now until it’s actually available. I guess if it’s really too big I’ll just grab another 32” Alienware for this setup and wait it out. But none of those are on sale at the moment and I’m impatient presently.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Those of you that own a 32:9 monitor, is it really worth it for gaming over a 21:9? ->yeah, agreed. colors aren't perfect, size is way better than neo g9
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Those of you that own a 32:9 monitor, is it really worth it for gaming over a 21:9? ->I just picked this up. It's on sale right now for just around $1000. Edit: the g9 that is
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best ultrawide productivity monitor? ->No the 49in. It was 40% off at bestbuy for black friday. It's my first ultrawide and is more for gaming than productivity. It feels giant so idk if I'd be able to handle the 57in hahah
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best ultrawide productivity monitor? ->All the games you mentioned have stretched edges and lazy fisheye lens implementation. Sold my Neo G9 already so no idea if you can tweak the FOW slider to bearable levels in 32:9. For me 21:9 is the sweet spot but YMMV.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 32:9 gaming ->The literal best monitor you can get is the 49" G9 Mini LED monitor from Samsung. It's extremely close to IPSs vivid colors due to the quantum dot panel, deep and rich dark details due to the Mini LED. Smearing isn't a big problem realistically on a high end VA panel like this.
r/buildapcmonitors • Best non IPS multi-use monitor for bad eyes? ->34" is too small, 57" is too big. I've been using 49" Samsung Neo G9 (mini-led 1000R version) for 2 years and I love it for productivity and gaming. I edit and color grade HDR videos and I wish the monitor was taller / had a bit more height in terms of real-estate. Looking forward to 45" 5k2K mainly because of how tall it is and OLED 21:9 for editing videos.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->Depends, I've been satisfied with my 49" G9 Neo. The HDR is neat, much higher peak level brightness than the OLED model, although around 2000 local dimming zones sometimes feel like not enough (in some rare occasions).
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best non-OLED ultrawide ->I too am considering this move, but currently using a G9 Neo 49. The width is unnecessary, and I’d greatly appreciate the height of the 5k2k. Only thing holding me back is mixed reviews on text clarity; I’m in law school and so productivity to gaming ratio is 70:20, and all I do is write and stare at PDFs. It seems IPS always exceeds 5k2K OLED on clarity, but even 125 ppi (5k2k) vs 109 ppi (NeoG9) would be an improvement. I’m not to keen to wait, but still haven’t pulled the trigger.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 45" 5K2K - or wait until 2026? ->Can’t speak about the others but Samsung is notorious for having bad quality control, I had to go through 3 different Neo g9s to finally receive one without dead pixels. It’s a real good monitor for sure.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 49" non-OLED monitor? G95C vs Neo G9 vs Ultragear ->I got the 57" option, 7680x2160 neo led and I absolutely love it. My 4090 can give 120 fps max on 7680x2160 and on 5120x1440 max 240 fps (physically locked) for games like forza and single player games i use the 2160p option and shooters go in 1440p. I have no issues pushing into the fps limits, can't see how a 4090 isn't enough. The 5090 could show 240fps in 2160p, but you are not reaching that performanse in dual 4k. A few years ago I started with the 49" neo g9 with a 2080 and had a lovely time, the 4090 with the 49" was a blast, and now the 57" with the 4090 is the perfect balance because you can swap between resolutions. However, the difference between your lg and the samsung is small, why have you bought the samsung in the first place? The 57" option would make more sense imo
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buyers remorse OLED G9 —> LG 5k2k instead? ->I just returned my Alienware OLED 21:9 due to fuzzy text fringing making work terrible. I’m replacing it with the Dell IPS 49” monitor and it will arrive within the week. I also tried the Samsung Neo G9 49” and the text was better on the Samsung VA panel than thebOLED by a long shot. My other monitor is an Asus IPS which is superior for text clarity, hence why I switched to the Dell 49” IPS. As far as I can tell the Dell 49” IPS is one of the only remaining IPS panels in the 49” format, with the ones from LG no longer available in my area.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Looking to get a 49' ultrawide, mainly for work ->I gamed on a 32:9 g9 neo mini led for solid 3 years. I got tired of the fisheye effect. Unnaturally large items at the edge of the screen that shrink the closer they get to the center. In games that naturally supported 32:9 it was good. But the fact is majority do not. I went to 42” LG C4 and I must say I am sold on 4k and OLED. I have been enjoying it over the 49”, it’s nice for everything to work naturally. In warframe on 32:9 my own character somehow took up more of the FOV than on 16:9 because of the stretch and zoom. But i do feel like something is missing. Maybe if the 5k2k drops in price in a year or two i’ll pick it up and the c4 will become my new bedroom tv.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 21:9 is the sweetspot for gaming! (Comparing all display ratios) ->i was deciding between the same monitor sizes and went with the 49" because it ultimately has more screen. 625.78sq inches vs 579.31 sq inches. that helped me choose. also, the 49" come in lots of options, 240hz refresh rate, mini-LED, OLED, IPS, etc. will be easier to find on sale. the 40" 5k monitors are generally more expensive and will have to do IPS black and settle for a lower refresh rate. i recommend mini LED 49" with 1000R curve
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 40" 5K2K vs 49" 5120x1440p for productivity ->Thanks for the review, much appreciated. At the same time I believe the issue with productivity is caused by OLED G9 curve - 1800R. Previously I was running LG 38" 1800R ultrawide. It was barely usable for me at the edges, had to run 125% zoom in windows to use it somehow. At the same time currently writing this comment on Neo G9 49 (1000R), and it's a major difference. Currently Windows Zoom set to 100% with having an IDE, browser, MS Teams set o 120%. So far so good, 3 decently sized windows side by side, no issues with text clarity and it's pretty comfortable. Still can use 100% zoom, but text is too small for me. At the same time, it's 125 PPI for LG vs 109 PPI, so most like 125% zoom is minimal acceptable for LG, at least for me.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG5K2K Review (Samsung G9 OLED Owner) ->I had the OG NEO 49" and would ever go back to that ratio after opwning the LG.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buyers remorse OLED G9 —> LG 5k2k instead? ->If you want a 32:9 get the 49" g9 neo or 57" g9 neo. Both are mini led 240hz. Great displays.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best non-OLED ultrawide ->Have you considered a 45" 5k2k OLED? Those things are pretty cool. If I ever went back to 21:9 that's what id get. still pretty wide but tall. Extremely immersive. And more game support than 32:9. That being said I still rock my 49" g9 neo
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 49 vs 57 ->I have a g9 neo 49" and a Odyssey Ark. Both VA mini led. I don't see any ghosting whatsoever on either. Samsung does an excellent job with their high end VA panels on eliminating ghosting. When I really really look for ghosting and use a slow mo cam I can see a bit more ghosting on my ark than the g9 neo but again I don't notice ghosting at all on either. I was worried about it coming from a really fast IPS monitor but when I compared the 2 I didn't see any noticable ghosting whatsoever.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Should I go 49" OLED for gaming or stick to 34"? ->My sweet spot was for a long time a 49” Neo G9. 32:9 provided so much additional space in games, I could really enjoy the widescreen. Wanted to switch to OLED, but lack of G9 OLED brightness and curve made me hesitate. 21:9 was no option because I wanted a bigger screen, not just a narrower one. Found the Lg 5k2k and fell for it. Narrower, without loosing pixels, higher, with additional screen space. Once I heard that my 4090 will be enough to power most of the games, I decided to get one, as soon as they’ll ship in my country.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->The 491cqpx is a good monitor. It’s just oled so… you need to see if you have an issue with text on oled. If you do… you should consider dual monitor. 1 ips and 1 oled for gaming. If you don’t have an issue, it’s fine as a work monitor. Many do and it works, it’s just not the best due to text quality. On burn in… it is much better though I won’t leave the monitor on all the time. Use a black background, no icons, and hidden taskbar. I have an oled and ips ultrawide. I tend to only use the oled for gaming .. though I sometimes forget and just use the oled. I don’t have any icons and taskbar is hidden. Icons are on the ips monitor. I put other stuff there as well. If you only want a single monitor…. The only good option would be the Samsung g9 miniled 49”. That’s the only good for work/play I know of… but it’s expensive. If you want cheaper, check out 401qr. It’s a 40” 3440x1440 ips 155hz monitor. It’s much cheaper but it works. It maybe hard to find since all companies seem to want to kill any ips ultrawides. The option before this was m34wq but that is definitely eol, 350 for a solid ips ultrawide at 144hz… such a good deal for many but no longer available. Companies just suck now.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Thought on MSI 491cqpx for Productivity ->I have a 21:9 LG 45 Oled and a 32:9 Samsung 49 Neo G9 and the experience is amazing ! BUT. To be fair, 2025 is still not the UW year. There is more game with some compatibility, but most have bad vertical fov, 16:9 cutscenes… You would be more happy with a big 4K Oled monitor ! Édit : I play and stream a lot of indie game, there is no UW support on this side of gaming. Don’t even try. I had to put my monitor in 16:9 to play most of them
r/ultrawidemasterrace • I wanna try 21:9, convice me please. ->My Samsung UW is amazing but has a lot of issues, and the quality control is not really good overall. You could look on here and see all the issues with Samsung. I have 0 problem with LG and Dell I have not the chance to try one yet.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • I wanna try 21:9, convice me please. ->I'd go for the QHD Samsung 49" Neo G9. It's $800 and plenty for productivity.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Need Recommendations for best Ultra wide monitor for Productivity and split screen/PIP capabilities ->* **CPU**: i7 13700KF * **RAM**: 64 GB @ 5800 MHz * **GPU**: 3080 10GB VRAM * **STORAGE**: Samsung 970 PRO 1TB (NVME SSD) * **DISPLAY**: Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 49", 5120x1440 (32:9) I'm getting roughly 170 fps docked in a station. Doesn't usually drop from that, at least not that I notice. Edit: forgot to mention, I’m on Ultra settings. Trying to get the best graphical quality I can.
r/EliteDangerous • CMDRs running Ultrawide monitors, what Monitor and Graphics cards do you use? ->I have a Samsung 49” Odyssey Neo G9 miniLED. I’m happy with it except for the fact that it’s not 4K. I think the sweet spot for ultrawides are 39”. Not too imposing but, gives you the feel of stepping up to ultra wide daily life. I like ultras bigger, personally.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->You can do that on the 49inch Neo as well. Still generally have to alt tab or hit the windows key to swap between screens depending on how a game handles mouse cursors.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Just bought the 49" G9 OLED. Having some serious buyer remorse. ->If I recall correctly, the original 49" Neo G9 has full array local dimming, and is VA w/ 1ms response times. Movie watching is still more enjoyable on a 21:9, in my opinion/ experience, as it will soak up all the screen real estate. If you were willing to compromise for OLED, the upcoming 21:9 LG 45" 5k2k display sounds amazing if movies are a big second factor after productivity. For context, I have owned an IPS LG 34" UW, and currently use an OG G9. I'm sure others with more experience will chime in, thought I'd share my 2¢ anyways :3
r/ultrawidemasterrace • trying to decide on 49" monitor for productivity, light gaming, movie watching ->I went from a 24" 1080p 144hz TN, 27" 1440p 180hz IPS, 49" 5120x1440p SuperUW 240hz VA, down to a 34" UW 3440x1440p 175hz OLED with the idea that if when I decided to upgrade it would be to something with much higher pixel density and resolution and refresh rate. But only once I had a card capable of pushing those pixels+refresh rate. Right now, I'm satisfied with the HDR capabilities of the OLED, and driving the monitor is easy with my 7900xtx. My dream monitor is something like the newly announced LG 5,120 x 2,160 45" OLED, but I know my 7900XTX would cry trying to run that thing lol, kind of bummer that it's only 165hz (I know running it even at that refresh rate is going to be challenging for most GPUs)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is 34" ultrawide.. dying? ->The only VAs which I would bother even considering are Samsung VAs because Samsung is the only manufacturer who managed to figure out how to solve black smearing and slow response times and even then its the top end Samsung Odyssey models.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • I am looking for a budget(max 400€) 34” curved ultrawide monitor ->I went from a single 32in 4k to a 49in odyssey g9. The fov difference from my 32 in to the g9 is massive.(Make sure to get 1000r not the 1800r) I say it's worth it for the g9 if you still intend to play single player adventure games and not just simracing.(I'm playing deathstranding right now) If simracing is your only priority go for triples.
r/simracing • 34" or 49" Ultrawide for Sim Racing? ->Depends what games you play and how you are as a person. I’m a video editor and my G9 at 32:9 aspect ratio is literal perfection. The amount of timeline space you get amazing. I can edit and have zoom calls up while also looking at reference material all on one monitor. For gaming story games are another level. Fps and competitive games are fun to play on it but can be annoying sometimes due to the fov bugs but for me honestly I have no issue with the fov. Plus you can always play in 16:9 or just have a cool wallpaper going on in the background. I recently played through mass effect 1-3 for the first time on the 32:9 Ultrawide I gotta say wow that series was phenomenal. But the cutscenes and dialouge in 32:9 just looked so glorious. Currently I’m playing crash bandicoot 4 in 32:9 jt looks beautiful now I want to end my life because it’s crash bandicoot but wow.

r/pcmasterrace • Ultrawide screens yes or no? ->Debated posting, but I'll give it a shot now. We can use a multi-stage process quite opinionated view of how I see each major criteria, and then combine it together for an answer. **Aspect Ratio** **16:9:** Is not ultrawide! Surely it shall join the bygone era of 4:3. I still have to argue with friends to try out ultrawide haha. **21:9:** Props to not just attaching two 16:9's together. I view 21:9 perhaps not as the ultimate sweet spot for every purpose, but as the best jack-of-all-trades. For FPS, your peripheral vision still fits in nicely, for racing, it's still immersive enough, for MMOs, you're getting enough real estate for your needs, for single player AAA adventures, you're getting immersed, etc. Movie content can fit really well. Productivity and editing may fall short of 32:9, but it's still fantastic. **32:9:** Amazing for certain types of games, but not all (emphasis on FPS). As mentioned by LG itself, avoiding the fisheye that comes with a 32:9 is beneficial. The endless balancing between Quake Pro and the sides of your screen looking funky sometimes gets annoying. Of course, I will say the productivity is great. **Others:** It's just not mainstream enough. I cannot speak on behalf of the small changes of a 24:10 or the whack of a 58:9 LG Ultra Stretch, but I'd prefer to work with something I know some level of support will come with. **Screen Size to Resolution** | Monitor Size | 2560×1080 (UW-FHD) | 3440×1440 (UW-QHD) | 3840×1600 (UW-WQHD) | 5120×1440 (SUW-QHD) | 5120×2160 (SUW-4K) | |:-------------|:-------------------|:--------------------|:---------------------|:---------------------|:-------------------| | **29"** | *Sharp enough and useful in my books if you like secondary ultrawide monitors, good PPI.* ✅ | *I don't believe it exists + overkill.* ❌ | *Doesn't exist.* 🚫 | *Doesn't exist.* 🚫 | *Is this even feasible?* 🚫 | | **34"** | *Pushing it here. I think if you want something a tinch smaller, this is great.* ✅ | *Ah, the GX9. I think for the size of the monitor, it's fantastic. I love super ultrawides and see a use case here.* ✅ | *I think realistically it's still fine. I'd just be cautious about lowering PPI again.* ⚠️ | *57" is cool but goodness goodbye my neck.* **Refresh Rate** 1. **60 Hz:** 🤮. OK, rude, but for web browsing and productivity? Sure. Gaming? No thank you. 2. **75 Hz:** Feels like you're being teased for what could have been a better life. 3. **100 Hz:** OK, better, better, starting to feel it more, but surely... 4. **120 Hz:** I'm content with this for many things. 5. **144 Hz:** I think for most non-competitive gaming, I'm content. 6. **165 Hz:** Feels like the new 144 Hz these days. I prefer it to 144 Hz of course. 7. **200 Hz:** Great stuff, hope I have a decent GPU. 8. **240 Hz:** I really hope I have a good GPU. I'll take this for all tasks. 9. **300 Hz+:** At this point I'll 100% take this for all tasks. **Panel Type** 1. **TN:** Goodness me, if I can avoid it, I will. Flashy refresh rates out there I guess...and that's about it. 2. **VA:** Such a common panel, and honestly, decent enough. I unfortunately get the motion blur, but I do get the better blacks. 3. **IPS:** Well, I'm sacrificing the blacks again but I'm getting some great colour here. 4. **OLED:** Ah yes, while some may complain about text readability and the risk of burn in, very few can deny it being the ultimate choice. The colours, blacks, response time, you name it, it has it. **Curve** This is interesting as I'm not entirely sure how to judge this or make a table/list for it. I recently had an Odyssey G9 (which has failed on me), and it had 1000R. Without that 1000R I'm sure color shifting when looking at my far right/left and my neck life itself would have been a bit worse off - so I do appreciate what a curve brings, especially in the immersion factor. 800R? For a 45"? Seems radical, but I like the sound of it. At the end of the day, it might be quite an opinionated topic, and for those that are on the fence about it might just select to wait for the bendable version. But I appreciate the engineering that has gone into creating such a curve, as well as having a curve than not having one as per my reasoning above. **Verdict** So what is the *sweet spot*? Well, the progression of panel technology comes heavily into play and when you ask someone. If I had asked this question 10 years ago then the sweet spot they would have mentioned then is invalid now. Perhaps 10 years from now I'd accept no less than 10240 x 4320 for my ultrawides. Personally, if I need a large monitor (because if I need a small my sweet spot changes), I'd say the GX9 is hitting it. The PPI is high enough to be impressive - not stupidly high that I can't notice it. 165 Hz is a good compromise until 240 Hz and higher I assume comes out later. OLED is something I'm dying to get into for a modern gaming monitor, and I think leaning into and accepting 800R is appropriate for such a size. Oh and 5120x2160? Sounds good to me. 330 Hz on dual mode hopefully scratches an itch here and there, especially that many won't have the budget to even get a GPU to bring their games to 165 Hz for the native resolution mode. With framerate aside, at least from what I'm reading, the specs of this monitor honestly might represent the sweet spot at the moment until the consensus for our definition of a sweet spot decides to change. I guess all I can promise is to give an analysis if selected to prove my thoughts.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->It comes down to your aims and your games. I messed around with several displays last year. One of them was the other samsung g9. The 1ms 1000R 49" display. While there were things I liked about it, it had a number of drawbacks. Some games felt rather immersive after fiddling (1000R is quite an extreme curve), but other games had no support in that range. My aim is content and personal gaming and to that extent I found it more useful to go with a smaller display (34" LG 34950G-B). It was about the same size and curve (1900R) as my previous display, but just better overall. This allowed me enough real estate on my desktop to keep a second display for obs/etc. This also helped maintain decent frame rates on my 3070 while recording. If you only game, you don't have this added constraint. I also don't like playing some games in windowed mode and some older games (e.g. Shogun 2) have issues running that way. So without knowing what you plan to do with the display it's hard to give you sound advice about which is best for you beyond what you already seem to know- 21:9 has broader default support atm. 32:9 resolution didn't exist for me in some games and plenty older games just might look like crap because they won't be getting updates. I will say, however, that the 34" on amazon I bought refurbed or whatever for 1-200 off what it was priced at at the time. There is a single pixel that is red/green somewhere on the screen outside the "main" viewing area. I can't see it right now unless I drag a black window around to spot it. Rather worth it for me. So keep an eye out sometimes as they have open boxes discounted. You just want to check for any burnouts/etc.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Should I be getting a 32:9 or a 21:9 monitor? ->I have, I owned it, and the 57. Both are superb, both work well. Op is a m&Ron.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->It was in the original marketing material but not specifically about HOW the screen is curved, more that the perspective is like having 2 x 32 inch 4K monitors side by side, which is exactly what I see when I'm sitting in front without the centre bezel. I came from the 49 inch Odyssey before the 57, and that curve was too much for me, as in every page or window looked curved to me, so I thought the 1000r was too agressive on that screen. Also the 1440 height was too short IMO. But the 57 addresses that by flatenning out the edges and gives the extra height. The curve works so well on that size screen, so that the same 1000r is more manageable, (when you sit in the correct position like Samsung recommends) I love the perspective and I watched a youtube where someone from Samsung explained about how when you are sitting in front of 2 x 4k 32 inch screens, the edges don't curve in, and that's how this monitor looks. I'm sorry, why is it weird? It's normal to everyone else, you seem to have some issue with it>Why? I'm lost
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->The 49" lol. As far as I know there's 3. The 49 non OLED, the OLED, and the 57 OLED
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 49 inch monitor for gaming and productivity? ->If you're gunna have still frames alot I'd probably get the non OLED
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 49 inch monitor for gaming and productivity? ->Not a big risk. People seem to like them OK. That being said, you’d be better off buying G9 directly from Samsung using their EPP or EDU program. Or even AAA for a discount if you are a member. I used my AAA discount and got the VA version of the 49” G9 for around $650.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Has anyone ever herd of this brand before? Anyone actually own this monitor? Seems like a great deal for a 32:9 OLED. ->I love it. I had a 34” Gigabyte G34wqc ultrawide for awhile. It was nice, though the VA smearing was noticeable. The 49” Samsung with the VA panel is awesome. No smearing. No VRR flicker. No mini-LED blooming. No OLED text fuzziness or burn-in. The size is awesome. The 34” wasn’t wide enough. The 49” is great. I’ve considered the 57”, but I’m concerned about the blooming, as well as the need for a very expensive/specific monitor arm, and the difficulty with fitting it on my current SteelCase Ology standing desk. 49” is a big increase for my productivity.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Has anyone ever herd of this brand before? Anyone actually own this monitor? Seems like a great deal for a 32:9 OLED. ->It’s amazing for gaming. Don’t listen to haters who don’t actually own or use them. I’ve owned a Gigabyte WQC34 curved 34” monitor and it was great. I upgraded to a Samsung G9 49” monitor and it is AMAZING. I love how immersive it is, how much real-estate I get, and the overall experience. Absolutely no drawbacks except needing a beefy GPU for 5120x1440. There are no games I play that can’t do 5120x1440, except PoE2. Then, it’s just like running a 34” widescreen instead. But every other game plays at native 5120x1440 and looks amazing. Highly recommended.
r/pcmasterrace • People who use ultra wide curve monitor, is it as good as it looks? ->i have both, the curvatures are the same, the 57 is 2 inches taller though and a bit wider
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->considering samsung are one of the pioneers of curved tvs, and even curved monitors and nearly every super ultra wide is a samsung screen, i dont know what you've been looking at. if i took like 6 neo g9's side to side id have a circle, a perfect circle. thats how this whole thing works, mine doesnt have flat sides, did youre little brother jump on it on the ground. the 57 is identical to every single 49 inch 1000r monitor out there, except 2 inches taller and 5 inches wider
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->Just measured my 49" Samsung og-G9 (1000R) and yeah, it's 45" wide and even with an 1800mm desk, it takes up a lot of room and it's a bit of a struggle for space with my PC, medium-sized speakers, work laptop (upright in cradle), mic arm, camera, lights, desk fan and dac/speaker/headphone amp stack. As it's a standing desk too, everything has to be on top. I am a bit concerned with the height of the monitor though, and importantly for me, the new height the camera will have to be with this lens and still look normal - could you measure the height please? I reckon I'll still get this one over the bendy one but am also temped by the future 40" screen in the timeline though this might be bit small (better dpi though), Have to wait till available in Australia though \**sigh\**
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 45GX950A Review – 5K2K OLED Is the CRAZIEST Gaming Monitor of 2025! ->With a 49" 1000R I never had to move my head...the 57" 1000R, sat far enough back is very minimal head movement and when gaming none at all.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Ultrawide vs. 27”/32” Monitor for Ergonomics – Which is Better? ->The cheapest 32:9 monitors are the 49" non-OLED monitors. Samsung Odyssey and LG UltraGear. They are $749-799 USD. You may be able to find them cheaper on sale, or open box. There are also some cheaper brands that probably use the same panel (manufactured by Samsung or LG). In the US these brands are AOC and Westinghouse. There are probably different ones in Europe. The OLED 49" monitors start at about $100 more, $849. Such as the MSI MPG. They all should have Picture-by-Picture and a KVM switch, but you might want to double check.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What are some recommendations for budget 32:9 curved monitors with picture by picture mode? ->The answer I was looking for. I have Samsung 49 non oled version and 77 C2. I have stopped gaming on 49 and game only on C2. Hoping with 45 5k2k I can move back to monitor gaming setup.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Let’s talk LG 5K2K OLED ->49" Samsung would be definitely better for work. I tried to work on 42" LG C2 as many really advise that TV as a main monitor. It was good for gaming because of OLED colors and 4k@120hz resolution, but text was blurry in some cases. I do a lot of diagraming, so it was really painful. I switched back go Samsung 49" non-oled and happy about it. Super good for productivity and good for gaming although it's not 4k and non OLED, the image quality is still good enough for gaming. 32:9 is also much better than 16:10 for both use cases imo.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->Triples are best, if you have the space. For sim racing, 49" 32:9 is much better than 38" 21:9, because, well, it's much wider. The most curved ones like the Samsung G9 (non-OLED) will have quite distorted edges when showing a single projection yes, but you can set them as triples with a shallow angle to counteract that. iRacing and ACC have native implementations to compensate for the curve, so they won't have this kind of distortion at all. BTW, tighter curves are preferrable for sim racing, the wrap-around effect feels more natural than having to squint to see the edges of a very wide and flatter screen. I would never consider paying triple the price of a 34" for a 38". There is a nice difference of course, but it's not massive enough to justify the massive difference in price.
r/simracing • 38-inch Monitor for simracing? ->I'll never buy another Samsung monitor. I have a non-OLED 49" Samsung. It hasn't had a firmware update since, at the most, six months after I bought it a couple of years ago or so. Sometimes, usually when switching inputs between my personal desktop and my work laptop, the screen will go completely black. Even the OSD won't display, although usually it'll still operate. The only fix is to power the monitor off and back on, using either the non-visible OSD if it's working, or just using the power switch on the surge protector I have it connected to. This happens anywhere from 4 to 16 times a week, I would guess. Also, updating the firmware did not work as easily as it leads you to believe. It was a lot of trial and error.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does anyone have this monitor and recommend it? ->45. Although I'd personally seriously consider a Dell with built-in KVM and ability to control video source through the command line. I have the 49 (non-OLED) Samsung, and I wouldn't buy another one, but I can't justify getting rid of this yet. The screen itself is great.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->My 49" works great for both my work and personal use. I do wish it had a built-in KVM so I didn't have to push separate buttons on the monitor, keyboard, and trackball, to switch, but 🤷♂️. Been using it for a year and nine months. I don't recommend Samsung, however (which is what I have, and I can't justify replacing it). I was recently tempted by the Dell ones which have a built-in KVM, but I wanted 1ms response, and I think all theirs had 5ms. I do wish Microsoft would use AI to figure out how people on modern equipment use windows. No, I don't ever want a window to be partially off-screen, et cetera. But that's not specific to ultra-wides and at least there are keyboard shortcuts to fix it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • AS A DEV - ->I’ve got 3 49 inch ultra wides between home and office. The g9 neo is superior for coding and I prefer the more drastic curve. Then I have 2x g9 oleds stacked at home. Curve is pretty flat and text is more difficult to get used to then the g9 neo and I feel like the colors aren’t as natural as the g9 neo but the colors are definitely sharper and better blacks and they stacked better with the lesser curve, however text was straight up rough when getting used to it and tuning it in. If it was do it all single ultra wide I’d prob go regular g9 Neo 57. Not really 2025 models but though the insight might be worth sharing.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide of 2025 ->my G9 has quick input source switch menu, surely this one has it too
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Yet another review of the LG OLED 5k2k… ->I ended up going back to a 27" 4K OLED, best choice after owning the Neo G9 and OLED G9
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Just bought the 49" G9 OLED. Having some serious buyer remorse. ->I play on a Neo g9 the wider the better so far for me
r/leagueoflegends • 34 inch ultrawide monitor ->Odyssey g9 neo. It's a gamble tho, samsung qc is abyssmal.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Need help picking a 49"curved (gaming) monitor ->Yeah Oled tech is much better now, but for me the risk wasnt worth it and i did go with a neo g9 49inch, am happy so far and was spared from samsungs abyssmal QC.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Need help picking a 49"curved (gaming) monitor ->I got the same Monitor with an overclocked 5080. I get nowhere near 120fps @ full res. Guess I have to cut back on some settings....
r/Battlefield6 • Perfect Super Ultrawide support. ->Similar here. I can use the Neo G9 at 7680x2160 without an issue, but the AVP it needs to be scaled to 1440.
r/VisionPro • Vision Pro instead of a ultra wide monitor ->I have the Samsung Odyssey G9 (non-OLED version). I tried the OLED version and the t XT issue was too much for me as I do a lot with text in my job. LOVE the monitor. I did check out an OLED Ultra gear at the same time and it was fantastic, just too small for me, was 43" maybe. Text looked really good on it too. I would need two of them and the price was too high for that, otherwise I'd have two of them! :)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best non-OLED ultrawide ->Mine is about 2yrs old (at least according to Reddit, I posted about a month after I bought it. I went and looked up when that was) I purchased the G9 Neo AND the OLED to compare them, and ended up keeping the Neo. It's had some quirks for sure, damn thing is so heavy that even a wall mount for a 60" TV (NOT an arm, but a full on mount) is too much, so I have blocks on the sides holding it where I like it. It's "gone black" on me about once every couple of months. I have to turn it off and leave it for about 10min before I can turn it back on. Thankfully it hasn't happened in the middle of a presentation or something. Prob the most annoying is when the button at the bottom stops working. I have two PCs connected, and I switch between them quite often, and you need the button to do that... And to turn it off. So when it stops working it makes it hard to do those things. I have to unplug it for about 10s and plug it back in and it's all good again. All things considered, these are minor issues, and I love the monitor otherwise.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best non-OLED ultrawide ->As soon as you mention productivity the answer becomes the Odyssey Neo G9, VA with FALD for near-oled image quality (at the expense of not having 0.03ms pixel switching).
r/ultrawidemasterrace • trying to decide on 49" monitor for productivity, light gaming, movie watching ->They're just about equal in price because the OLED G9 and the Neo G9 are both the top monitors, just for different use cases. OLED for pure gaming, Neo for gaming + text without risk of burn-in. Both monitors are the pinnacle of their use case.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • trying to decide on 49" monitor for productivity, light gaming, movie watching ->I played a bit with the neo and while yeah, it's more immersive, I didn't enjoy it because I also do a lot of desk stuff with multiple windows open. As for the boost visibility, yeah. I've just turned my UI scale all the way down and don't even look at the boost meter. I do play with my feet on the desk so I'm not that close to the monitor, but you still have to take your eyes off the play too much to check the boost.
r/RocketLeague • D you play with a curved monitor? ->The Neo G9 is I think my favourite monitor ever and I use it with two Mac's, a Mac Studio M2 Max (2023) and MacBook Pro M3 (~2024) supplied by my employer. I work every day on this monitor for over 10+ hours working. Both have HDMI 2.1 ports which support 7680x2160@120hz and that's the resolution I run. All the apps where I really need larger fonts allow me to configure larger fonts except a few and even those apps are fine as on this monitor I'm physically so close to it or rather I'm immersed in it. The MacOS menu bar can be a bit small even at the larger front setting but I survive. I also have an Elgato StreamDeck which I use to jump between HDMI 1->2 and control G9 brightness via DDC with BetterDisplay app. Some people try to use HiDPI and scaled fonts but I played with scaling in the beginning and ended up going full resolution and tweaking my main apps so I get access to all that 8k2k pixel real estate and can have more apps on screen at once (Teams, Outlook, iTerm, browsers, Xcode/IDEs, DBeaver, Resolve etc etc). I use it for work so the core apps I use each day don't tend to change much. I also run Parallels/Win11 and AWS Workspaces when I have to do something in Windows (uuurgh, plz shoot me) although keep them as approx quarter screen windows, never full screen. Finally I run KeyboardMaestro and Commandpost and Display Ninja and Moom. These allow me to have set layouts and hotkeys to position windows and the jump the mouse to specific locations quickly etc etc. For example I have a specific layout for Teams calls and another when working on docs in Word or another when working in iTerm on servers. etc etc. ... Oh and the G9 57 feels like it takes an eternity to turn on so I never turn it off, instead I have it connected to ZigBee motion sensor (Homeassistant) which changes the brightness from zero to desired brightness when I walk to my desk and it goes back to zero brightness when inactive after 5mins etc. Effectively turning the monitor off and on instantly. Embrace the pixels. Get a good soundbar/speakers and quality webcam. 😊
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Which MacBook would I need to drive a 5K2K Hz monitor for work (and maybe a bit of cheeky gaming on the side with a PC) - and which ultrawide to get? ->Love mine. I can't imagine working on a different screen. Also can't imagine playing WOW any other way.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 G95NC 57” - Is it still worth it? ->It's very easy to create a custom 5k2k resolution for the neo G9. It's not OLED, though. However, the G9 isn't miles worse than OLED, either. To me, the 57 gives the best of both worlds being able to use 32:9 or 21:9
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG5K2K Review (Samsung G9 OLED Owner) ->1. The dizziness is called motion sickness. This is because this monitor is immersive, and it can occur when viewing high-resolution, moving images (we're familiar with this from 3D glasses, also known as VR). I experienced it with this monitor when I was playing Fortnite at 8k and had to lower the resolution to HD, after which the dizziness disappeared. I'm currently practicing and have reached 5k. But I can confirm that the edges only begin to curve after approx. 20cm. *Edit:* I also have this problem, when I watch very high resolution drone flights in a 16:9 format. That means I am watching the video in the curved area with black areas to the left and right but there is still motion sickness - you need to learn handling it or lower the resolution. 5. I have no problems with wake up - apparently the firmware they deliver now has solved this problem. (Edit: I counted 5s till it´s back when I shake my mouse) *Edit:* **Regarding the 2nd point:** The viewing angle is really not that good (a color washout begins around +30° ) - it means that you should not use this monitor in a presentation room but on the other hand: who would use a curved monitor with such an aggressive curve for presentations? This is like downvoting the monitor because it has drawbacks when you share the monitor in a meeting because it´s 32:9 (naturally there is not a problem, when you use picture in picture which is great - the monitor then works like 2 32" 4k Displays). A little hint: placing the monitor 80-90cm away from your eyes is a nice distance to have a good view. A big wtf goes to the "color-moan". Maybe you want to check this review from [rtings.com](http://rtings.com) : [https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/samsung/odyssey-neo-g9-g95nc-s57cg95](https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/samsung/odyssey-neo-g9-g95nc-s57cg95) Especially the *color accuracy* and the *color gradient* are called "**remarkable**".
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->I ended up with the 57" for the same reason. I was going for the 49 off of spexs and thankfully Best Buy had one on display; way too small for my tastes and once I saw the 57" there was no going back. I went back and forth between the G9 Neo and Arc 2 but the arc 2 rubbed me too much like having a big TV in my face. Couldn't be happier.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Just bought the 49" G9 OLED. Having some serious buyer remorse. ->I have the Neo G9 52 and just run PBP so it’s “two monitors” then I can still share the screen properly in zoom/huddles.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Want to switch to an ultrawide for work… are there any downsides? ->Bad VA < Bad IPS On the flip side: Good VA >>> Good IPS This is undeniable to anyone who isn't poor or a child and has ever gotten a monitor for more than $200-300. IPS is more consistent in its quality in that it has a higher floor, but it also has a lower ceiling. There is no IPS monitor that is even close to something like a Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 (49in), which has a VA panel. So it really just comes down to which specific monitors you're talking about.
r/Monitors • Is VA really that bad? ->I had the non oled Samsung with the huge curve and then got the oled with the smaller curve and I preferred less curve.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG5K2K Review (Samsung G9 OLED Owner) ->so a gimped odyssey neo g9 57
r/ultrawidemasterrace • TCL unveils 57-inch curved ultrawide gaming monitor featuring 120 Hz, 8K x 2K and 1,200 nits mini-LEDs ->not interested in it unless its oled. I do want oled at this size and resolution with ultrawide 32:9 It was a nice experience on the odyssey neo g9 va the downside is it was not oled for me
r/ultrawidemasterrace • TCL unveils 57-inch curved ultrawide gaming monitor featuring 120 Hz, 8K x 2K and 1,200 nits mini-LEDs ->but 120hz the odyssey neo was 7680x2160 @ 240hz hdr 1000
r/ultrawidemasterrace • TCL unveils 57-inch curved ultrawide gaming monitor featuring 120 Hz, 8K x 2K and 1,200 nits mini-LEDs ->I have the same monitor and GPU and I'm at 70 fps. Whats your settings?
r/Battlefield6 • Perfect Super Ultrawide support. ->OLED have slightly better visuals but don’t have much of a shelf life, so keep that in mind. I’ve had the Samsung Odyssey Neo g9 (5120x1440 - 49’’) since 2022 (heavy use - I’m a lawyer, so reading, drafting lawsuits etc… on top of gaming) and have had no issues. If i went OLED i would’ve probably encountered some issues by now. For gaming, expect some games to lack ultrawide support without mods unfortunately. For productivity it’s a god send, you can multi task super efficiently as you can basically have 4 windows open with full view of controls, taskbars etc… Pairs really nicely with a smaller monitor on top too
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Recommendations for a Ultrawide Monitor ->You don't need to use the smart features if you dont want. I have the 240hz G95C and love it. Back a few updates they changed the UI to a smaller quicker ui that only has a few icons. But honestly once it's setup the need to go in the UI is very limited anyways. I don't use the built in smart tuner as I have a 32" Asus PG32 Oled forget the rest of the letters for watching movie and other things. I will agree when it first came out the ui was kind of slow but it has gotten a lot better with updates. I have had every G9 generation since the first 240 VA black monitor from years ago can't think of the name but can usually be found for dirt cheap these like 300-600. The only other one i still own is the Neo G9 240hz that has the huge curve which i use on my work pc on the other side of the room. Great monitors and never had any issues over the years with any of the G9's.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does anyone have this monitor and recommend it? ->this guy is whack. if you are doing any kind of productivity or like your taskbar showing, have a HUD or crosshair get the VA or NEO, the neo is awesome on par with the OLED but won't have its pixels melt like the OLED will
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 49 inch monitor for gaming and productivity? ->there are really only 2, the two different sizes of g9 and their different panel types (va/OLED) last I went shopping. Acer and LG monitors exist in that ratio but they're just the g9 panels in a new case with a new OSD.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What is the best 32:9 monitor now also compare 21:9 which one you would chose and why? ->The Neo G9 is a VA panel with Mini LED, and its curve is 1000R. For now, I thought I would miss the curvature, but frankly speaking, I didn't miss it at all. Neo G9 is a respectable screen as well and is very competitive with OLED. At 240 Hz, I didn't feel much difference compared to 144 Hz; anyway, I don't have any games that can run at 240 fps. OLED has deeper blacks and punchier colors compared to the Neo G9. The HDR performance is good, but I felt that the Neo G9 has an edge in this domain. After you pointed out the eye care feature, my work today was smooth, and I had no complaints. I work with a lot of text and data, so this was beneficial. My only gripe is that the brightness is low; I think the OLED peaks at 400 nits compared to 1000 nits in the Neo. I'm really torn; I'll see what I decide and keep you posted.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Samsung G9 49” OLED 144Hz ->I want to provide an update on this screen compared to the Neo. I made the decision to sell the Neo and keep the OLED; I hope I will not regret this decision, lol. Even though I sold the Neo, it is still very competitive compared to the OLED. But I swear, aside from everything else, I think the main strong point of the OLED is its 0.3 sec response time. I played Warzone today, and I felt it’s not gimmicky. However, I’m stressing out about using this screen for work (for now it’s good, especially since you told me to activate the eyecare) and about the burn-in risks.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Samsung G9 49” OLED 144Hz ->I had a Neo g9 before and currently use G8 oled 21:9. Ultrawide is good fun for a while but I always ended up playing with the standard 16:9 ratio in the end. The image is stretched on UW, which makes it difficult to read the player's movement sideways. If that makes any sense. Good usage of the right stick beats ultrawide any day
r/RocketLeague • Question for players playing with (ultra)wide monitors ->I tried the LG 5k and couldn’t stand looking at text. Glad the neo g9 exists it has check all the boxes for me for a combo productivity and gaming monitor
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide for a mix of gaming and work ->I have a Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo (5160x1440) running at 240hz on my Studio 2 Ultra and it looks great. Any higher res and the text is too small. It can go higher res, but I keep it at default.
r/macmini • Mac mini and ultra wide monitor ->I currently have the 49 inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 and while it is gorgeous, it's size is a bit too wide for competitive FPS gaming. I play CoD daily and often finds myself having to move my head a little to catch movement at the periphery of vision. The smaller size of the LG GX9 should better fit the whole of the action within my PoV without my having to adjust my seating position. So I would say that 45" would be a fantastic sweet spot for a sub 32:9 aspect ratio wide screen monitor.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I tried a Samsung Neo G9 but really didn't like it. Was way too wide and took up too much room. Went back to 21:9 and much prefer that aspect ratio.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Has anyone gone from 31:9 back to 21:9? ->Running on the 57" here too. I didn't know about the HUD option, will check that out.
r/Battlefield6 • Perfect Super Ultrawide support. ->It's kind of shit. A lot of artefacting on the sides because it wasn't made for ultrawide, so you'll constantly see trees and other objects/mountains warping and popping in and out on the edges, the HUD is also tied to the edges, meaning you need to turn your head to see it, and the cutscenes are stuck letterboxed as well as 16:9, so black bars on all sides with a tiny video playing in the center. It's not fun. Got same monitor as OP.
r/Battlefield6 • Perfect Super Ultrawide support. ->I just bought it a couple days ago Arrived today and set it up. Already have so many complaints. 1) the blooming is very bad. The local dimming zone on high makes it terrible so I have to turn it off to have uniform lighting. White on black text is bad. 2)it’s so hot. I literally feel the heat emanating off it at arms length. 3)the games I tried to play do not support this and are all distorted, rivals and poe2. Cyberpunk worked really good tho. 4)I feel really sick using it. It’s been on for only a couple of hours and I’m feeling really sick already. I don’t know what it is. 5) random screen flickering. In games the brightness kinda flickers. It’s very very noticeable in game menus like cyberpunk. Not as big of a problem in games. Still a problem Probably gonna return it and go back to my multi monitor set up. This was a total bust.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->Honestly it’s really good for productivity. It’s not a gaming monitor. It’s ass for gaming it’s so y optimized. But I used it for work and it was very very good. I love it for that 10/10 the text clarity and such is great. I’m a software developer and the goods from productivity outweigh the horrific bads from gaming. I wanted it to work out the box but it didn’t and I’m gonna have to get used to it. There are workarounds
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->I have the G9 Neo with 1000R curve and I love it. It's definitely an advantage in that you can see much, much more of the field at any one time... But the boost indicator is half a mile away off to the right, so I do occasionally get caught with less boast than I think I have. I personally prefer a 1000R curve than 1800R curve on a monitor this wide because, at usual desk viewing distance, it keeps the screen edges at a similar distance from your eyes as the screen centre. Smaller curves the edges get further away, unless you sit further back. On smaller screens I wouldn't worry though tbh.
r/RocketLeague • D you play with a curved monitor? ->I have this as well. Awesome aspect ratio for productivity but not gaming. The warping is too bad. I bet there are a lot of games with better support, but none of the games I play. But it's possible to play in 16:9 or 21:9 anyway, so there is a lot of flexibility. For only gaming I would prioritise OLED over 32:9.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Those of you that own a 32:9 monitor, is it really worth it for gaming over a 21:9? ->Have a Samsung 49” G9 240 hz for about 3 years and could not be happier
r/simracing • Need a new monitor any ultrawide suggestions ->I have 2 of them I love it
r/simracing • Need a new monitor any ultrawide suggestions ->I have mine hooked up to a Samsung G9 49” @240hz with no issues.
r/macmini • M4 Mac mini compatibility problems with ultrawide monitors? ->The LG G9 49“ 32:9 got really cheap used. Have one for years and still love it. Having 2x27“ seemless with a perfect curve in front of you still feels awesome. For productivity and gaming. But I also have 2x27“ 2k vertically left/right + 3x15“ USB-C portables above the 49“ :) Bit different setup, but for my usecases it‘s perfect. Maybe i change the 49“ to a 45“ 5k2k one day, but they have more height and then the 3x15“ above would maybe be too high…now it perfectly aligns.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What is the best 32:9 monitor now also compare 21:9 which one you would chose and why? ->I have an older G9 240hz non OLED and it‘s still decent.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does anyone have this monitor and recommend it? ->I have a 32“ 4K + 2k 25“ verticals left/right directly „attached“. Also lot of space and lot of height. Doesn‘t cost a lot of money too. 32“ maybe 200 and 25“ Dell Business 2k for around 150-max 200 for both used (great monitors!). Yep only 60hz, but i use this as my secondary home office setup and still really like it. My primary home office setup is a 49“ G9 5K 240hz with 2 27“ 2K verticals left/right + 3x15“ USB-C portables on top of the G9. Also nice, but this one can be used for 2 different workspaces (2 computers). Seemless integration of all the monitors and 2 computers with MouseWithoutBorders. Also have an eye on the 45“ 5k2k, but will wait till they get cheaper used.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is LG 45in 5k2k worth considering if I don’t get game and just want it for productivity? ->I have a Mac mini m4 and a ultra wide 49 Samsung odyssey at 240hz and works greqt
r/macmini • Ultrawide monitor for Mac mini ->Just got one. Love it
r/simracing • Need a new monitor any ultrawide suggestions ->Never seen this 144hz version before. However, I have the 240hz non-OLED G9 as well as the 240hz OLED G9 without the smart TV functions. I have had no issues with the non-OLED and it is still in use. I have had *two* panel failures on my OLED G9 in less than 2 years of ownership. I bought it in November 2023 and the first panel failed in April 2025. Samsung sent out a tech that month who replaced the panel (the tech takes the circuit boards out of the existing monitor and places them in a new panel and housing). At the beginning of this month (August if anyone reads this in the future) the new panel also failed. Samsung sent a tech out the following week to replace the panel again. Fingers crossed this one lasts a long long time.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does anyone have this monitor and recommend it? ->Not even close. I cant even push og g9(5120x1440) with 3090. Without frame gen i cant maxout new titles anymore. I dont even blame the gpu tbh.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 5k2k 45GX950A-B 48hr review ->The big difference is productivity for me. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be, and not having to refocus them really eases the eye fatigue. I went from the original g9, to the g9 oled(did not like the curve), to the g9 57 - which is perfect for me.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • You guys are savages ->The pic u took is not the 34 inch its the 45 inch i was looking at that also but i decided to go with the g9
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is this a good monitor and good deal? ($400 off) ->Your point about productivity is correct. But immersion for gaming is going to depend on size as well. I would agree with a 34 vs 49. But the 45 21:9 is going to offer more vertical size and it’s going to feel more immersive even if you have less horizontal space than a g9. G9 are very narrow and it’s not natural in terms of global FOV
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What is the best 32:9 monitor now also compare 21:9 which one you would chose and why? ->G9 has no more negatives than any other monitor has. If it was trash no one would own them
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide Gaming Monitor in 2025? ->Samsung G9, best monitor I’ve owned
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Monitor Ultrawide: Your suggestion? ->45” may just be the sweet spot. I use a 49” G9 and a 38GN950 which are both brilliant but in the middle could be a great compromise
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I ended up getting the 49" G9. I solve OLED and the monitor is great but ya I'd love to have a bit more vertical height. I got the g9 on a deal for $1200 CAD for the 2025 matte version which is normally $2200. So I couldn't pass it up. I couldn't find the 45" 5k in person or even in stock anywhere but if I had, it would have been tough to not get it lol
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Pulled the trigger on the LG 5k2k 45GX950A ->I bought 49” g9 a couple months back. I’ve been happy with it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Can anyone reccomend some good Ultrawide monitors in 2025? ->Buy what you can afford with what fits your situation. I bought mine on sale from Amazon for $900cad. Now it back to $2000. If mine didn’t come down so low I would have never bought it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Can anyone reccomend some good Ultrawide monitors in 2025? ->I had the original Samsung g9, but after it died, I replaced it with an LG 45" OLED 21:9. There have been a few times when multitasking between different design apps and references that the wider format could have been beneficial, but I'm not sure it would have actually saved any time or effort. On the gaming side, the additional immersion of the wider viewing angle on the g9 was cool, but I had been missing the vertical size. In general I find the 21:9 more comfortable to use for gaming. Not to mention that 21:9 is a bit better supported in games.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Has anyone gone from 31:9 back to 21:9? ->Yes that 49" Samsung G9 is the best monitor out there. You can nicely fit 3 windows next to each other. Sometimes I will even do a 2:1:2 split With docs, terminal, code, preview, devtools Sometimes I wish the radius was slightly curved less because I like to sit close to the screen but then It is wider than my field of view. The more shallow version had much worse specs though. Still awesome though. I couldn't believe they had them on sale for $800 \~2 years ago. PS the 55" ARK and the new one look interesting as well but I don't know about the aspect ratio. They are closer to a TV panel.
r/webdev • What's better, 34 or 38 inch Curved monitor? ->Exactly what I think. There is so much room for activities.
r/webdev • What's better, 34 or 38 inch Curved monitor?
->I've been rocking a 49" G9 for almost 5 years now and I decided about a year ago that my next monitor would be 21:9. The 32:9 is great, but I don't feel like I'd be less immersed with the new 45" UltraGear
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Super Ultrawide user considering Super Ultrawide vs Ultrawide (G9 OLED vs LG UltraGear 5K2K) ->I have played around a bit with different monitors setups and I personally dont think we are anywhere near the power to drive a dual 4k monitor. You are going to have to drive nearly 17M pixels vs the 11M of 1440p triple. I just feel like that amazing screen isn't going to be utilized fully for many years. I ended up going for the odyssey gen 2 55 for my 4k intake, I use a 49 g9 for dual wide @work and triple 32 1000R for my dedicated sim rig. The power of our current era gpus is important as well. I personally think the 1440p dual wide is the perfect sweet spot. Even the next 6090 or 7090 I doubt is going to be able to drive that dual 4k monitor fully. Either way its gonna look great have fun!
r/simracing • Thinking about getting a 57" ultrawide monitor and ditching my triple 27" curved setup. Any reason not to? Has anyone else recently moved from triples to a 57" curved? ->I have completely replaced my Samsung Odyssey 49” G9 Super Ultra-wide monitor with the Mac Virtual Display, and I use it for hours upon hours a day, mostly for coding. I use the Samsung monitor as a backup for when the MVD wants to act up and not connect. Though the monitor displays sharper and brighter, nothing compares to the flexibility of the MVD. The ability to resize it, place it literally anywhere you’d like, and to travel with it is unmatched. As long as you can find a solution that reduces the pressure of the AVP on your forehead or nose area, the AVP is the way to go. I had purchased my monitor months prior to the AVP announcement and would have gotten the AVP instead.
r/VisionPro • Vision Pro instead of a ultra wide monitor ->Like the others said here, your monitor is too far imo. I have the same one above my wheelbase and its decently immersive. Maybe try that first!
r/simracing • Triple monitor advice ->49. triples cost about the same as getting an samsung g9 tbh so if you had th space, go triples. triple 27s even, probably take up similar space to the 49. Im someone who has the 49.
r/simracing • 34" or 49" Ultrawide for Sim Racing? ->32:9. I cant go back. There's so much information you can see. I have an Samsung odyssey g9.
r/simracing • 21:9 or 32:9 ultrawide for simracing? ->my wife, on her laptop loves her ultra wide. I have 3 separate monitors (home and work) and recently started to get into the ultra wide Samsung G9 recently (3 months now). I love the no bezel, however, I miss the structured compartment organizing of tools, media, emails on separate monitors. it was a nice clean line (bezel) to separate the various apps/tools. still have it ay work, so it does help me organize and concentrate better there. hope that helps. edit; to add its a pain to reach over to menu pull down items from across the screen when I'm in a rush. w/ various monitors, the menu items are close to move my mouse.
r/MacOS • Ultrawide vs dual monitors ->switched to the LG 40WP95C from a Samsung G9. I love the vertical space it adds, far more useful for the workday. I drive it with a RTX 3080 Ti 12GB, most games support the resolution and since it's 4K height the games that don't scale well I just run in 4K resolution. Supports up to 72Hz so i usually cap frame rates at 72FPS. Run most games with maxed out settings. My 3080 struggles when ray tracing is on but DLSS solves that... quality and framerates. I don't play any competitive games where input lag and reaction times would have a impact on the sub second level.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Anyone have a 5K2K (5120 x 2160) monitor? What are your thoughts? ->Just recently went from a samsung g9 to a g8 and I'm pretty content with it!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The 25 most recommend Ultrawide Monitors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jun 2025) ->G9 is still the most sold 32:9 monitor, but i wouldnt call it the king. there is too much personal preference when it comes to monitors to even crown any monitor the best. there are a lot of people who really dislike 32:9 and also many, like myself, that really dislike 800r curve. than there is WOLED vs QD-OLED and Matt vs glossy. its a whole religion already and guys will debate for hours and hours only to agree to disagreeing. for me, i tried matt WOLED for a few months, switched to glossy QD-OLED and couldnt be happier. every single little thing that bothered me just disappeared. but that doesnt mean its the same for everyone else.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide Gaming Monitor in 2025? ->i would also never get a WOLED again, QD-OLED is just superior in basically every aspect. switched from an LG WOLED to the samsung G9 and the picture quality of QD-OLED is just so much clearer and better. (i am really picky when it comes to displays, so im definitely not the average user and ive been selling TVs for the last 18 years, so ive seen basically every tech stage from ctv to oled with all their ups and downs over the years)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 5k2k — day 1, not feeling it :/ ->Yes! I just recently returned a 49” G9 after upgrading from 27”. I’ve settled on a 38” 1600p and it’s the perfect size IMO.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is 34" ultrawide.. dying? ->49” G9 with M4 mac mini running display port connection works nicely when it works. The constant disconnecting from the back USB C port is a giant pain.
r/macmini • Mac Mini with an ultrawide monitor? ->I prefer my CRG9's curve to the G9's for productivity. I also have an upper 27" above in case I need some vertical.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Ultra wide is the way to go for office work ->I have a g9 ultra wide and love it. Simple and high fps.
r/simracing • Back to Ultrawide? 57in vs Triples ->My biggest concern is game support for ultra wides. I have a Samsung G9 and so many games don’t support I guess super ultra wide it is making me want to go back to normal aspect ratios. I wonder if the LG is just wide enough for most support ? I think some games like over watch won’t do anything above 16:9 or so.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Another LG 5K2K perfection post... ->And I own one! But I recommend against them, at any price. Exercise in frustration :(
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG Unveils World’s First 5K2K OLED Ultrawide Monitors At CES 2025 ->Many. Best among them so far are the Odyssey G9 series. I prefer the OLED for gaming, though it's "only" 49". The 57" brings a LOT more visual real estate but the loss of OLED is noticeable, for me. Either way, both great. Most of the reliability complaints are due to user error.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 32:9 gaming ->Then I stand corrected. I had a 55 Ark before going back to the 49 G9, and assumed they were using similar panels/pixel density, seems to not be the case. The ark was fully compatible on 1.4 and 2.1 at full spec. If the 59 truly can only operate on DP 2 1, then i am thoroughly shocked. Wild that you cant get full specs using the best card on the market rn.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide monitor? price not an issue. ->What an awesome opportunity! I reckon 40-50 is the sweet spot! I've used a Samsung G9 and found it a tad too big so I reckon a 45" will be golden!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I mean it really depends on what your standards are here. You're looking at like somewhere around 110 PPI which is pretty average and on par or better than most standard monitors you'd see in cubicles at companies that people work on every day. Perfectly serviceable but in this day and age we are spoiled with 300+ PPI screens on some of our devices so now we can notice the difference in text sharpness especially between the two so that's either something that bothers you or it doesn't. I'd say you're absolutely fine. I use the G9 5120x1440p and that's 110 PPI and is text blurrier than my phone or iPad? Yes. I can notice it if I pay attention and look at it but it doesn't bother me and I think it still looks great.. another person would see the density and never unsee the less than perfectly crisp text.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Asking about pixel density on a 34 inch 1440p ultrawide. ->32:9 is a little overkill purely for gaming as many titles don't support it super well so you get stretching/distortion at the edges, doesn't ruin the experience but doesn't really enhance it either. 32:9 is amazing for productivity though, I use my G9 with my Macbook Pro for my work from home setup and being able to fit so much on the screen is just incredible. 21:9 is probably a sweet spot if gaming is the only concern but if you do even a little bit of productivity work I'd splurge for 32:9, there's really nothing like it and you won't go back.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Should I be getting a 32:9 or a 21:9 monitor? ->Isn't it kind of a weird price point though? You could get the 57" G9 for $1800 compared to this guy for $2000. OLED is great and all but Mini LED is hardly bad so assuming you're not dying on the hill for OLED wouldn't the Samsung kind of just be better per the dollar and also fulfill filling in the vertical space limitations of the 49"?
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What’s with the 5K2K hype? ->Idk the 1000r curve on my og G9 seems pretty much perfect but it's probably a taste thing.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What’s with the 5K2K hype? ->I went from G9 VA version to LG ultragear 39 oled To 2 alienware 34 oled vertically mounted then put them side by side Then got an awesome deal during prime day 480$ for G9 oled version, I've seen the 57 for 1k$ but that's double the price. So the LG and Alienware were matte screens and this G9 oled was the glossy and it blew me away for color. The 57 is the same tech as my old G9 qd mini led VA panel I believe? Color and response time trade off for more vertical screen space is kinda tempting because my old G9 had great color but I don't know if I would want to go back to it now that I've had oled for last few months, also my monitor lives under a hutch and fits nicely the 57 would be extra big but you clearly got room for that. Recommend getting 57 using it and then selling the one you don't like, and post back what you think is better for you
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Just bought the 49" G9 OLED. Having some serious buyer remorse. ->I play on a Samsung g9 32:9 and it's amazing. Plenty of screen space to modify your hud however you want and still have plenty of room to enjoy the scenery in the game. "Off screen" prompts are also a bit easier to catch. I had a 21:9 that was my primary for a while but is now a second monitor, it was also good. The biggest difference for me was that I didn't have to turn my head to focus in on any part of the screen with the 21:9, on the 32:9 I'll move my head to look at different things on the screen. PC, mainly use a controller but also kbm for lots of tasks in game.
r/ffxiv • 32:9 vs 21:9 ->I ended up just getting one without USB c/thunderbolt because the options were pretty limited. Would have been nice but I can deal without
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The Best 21:9 Ultrawide Monitor for Productivity, Media & Gaming? (Thunderbolt or USB-C w/ 90W+ PD) ->The Samsung g9, so 32:9 instead of 21:9
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The Best 21:9 Ultrawide Monitor for Productivity, Media & Gaming? (Thunderbolt or USB-C w/ 90W+ PD) ->my current desk is 55.1" x 23.6", a bit off from your dimensions i used to run dual 32" for content consumption and gaming(both console and PC), i did run dual monitor arms for the displays and to me it didn't feel like they both were too wide for my desk with them going over a bit on each side. gaming and web browsing were the priority for that setup. next setup was with an 49" Samsung(for gaming and productivity), the dual 32s' mounted to the wall atop the 49" were for things like discord, emails and web browsing. though i enjoyed all the screen real estate, it didn't last long and thoughts of sizing down became paramount. i thought "how about" an single 34" but having 32" displays it didn't feel right, then i thought 45" LG Ultragear OLED but after owning the 49" (to me) that was still a tad bit wide for what i wanted. i ended up with an newly purchased(earlier this month) 39" LG Ultragear OLED. FOR ME it checks all the things i was looking for as far as size, specs and use. I use it for photo/video editing via my new mac mini m4 and def for FPS gaming(again console and PC). HDR when gaming has been an eye opener and game changer on this display. in my opinion, the 39" compliments MY desk's dimensions. On an monitor arm and positioned directly in the middle of the desk at arms length. haha, sorry for the looong read. good luck with whatever you decide.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best size ultra-wide monitor for a 48” x 30” desk (Work and gaming)? ->My 49” Samsung died after a year and a half and I just got ghosted by Samsung support.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->This company started off making high end portable oled monitors, I used to have one. This particular one is just the samsung 49" panel with their electronics powering it. Should be reliable.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Has anyone ever herd of this brand before? Anyone actually own this monitor? Seems like a great deal for a 32:9 OLED. ->I don’t like Samsungs 49”. It doesn’t have a good “sleep” system. Half the time I could never get it to wake up. I moved it to my work computer. It’s got different problems over there. It stays ghosted like the backlight is out until I reseat the power plug. It might be a bad monitor, but I’ve already had it replaced once.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Multiple monitor upgrade to a wide setup (info in comment) ->For productivity 49 in by far nothing beats the real estate of the 49 inch.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->I have a 49” Samsung and I hate it
r/pcmasterrace • Ultrawide screens yes or no? ->I have the 49" and am going to switch to the 45" OLED. The vertical space on the 45" makes a world of difference.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->i got one of the 49" samsungs and really all i do is race, so it's perfect for that
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ? ->I'm team 49". Great for Sim racing and productivity, especially when mounted to a proper arm
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->I like my 49" Samsung from a workspace perspective. Great if you're taking notes, using VMs, and in Zoom and Slack/Discord all at the same time, such as doing remote SANS courses. But ... and I could be biased, I've read of too many people having issues with the Blank Screen that won't even display the OSD menu. And it seems to persist between models. I've tried way too many DP and HDMI cables for the to be 'cables' and it's driving me batshit insane. I've installed a dongle with a power switch on my desk so I can just power-cycle it real fast when it blacks out and it comes right back; sucks for gaming though. Go with the 45 or try a different brand of the 49.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->I have a 49” and will go 45” - miss the 21:9 height and the far edges of the 49” aren’t that useful.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->I started on the Samsung 49” for editing and loved it. Same real estate as 2 27” monitors. The curve didn’t bother me at all. I decided to splurge and got the Samsung 57” ultra wide and I love it even more. It’s equivalent to 2 32” 4K monitors side by side. I also prefer it to the 49” because it’s noticeably taller than the 49”. The 49” sometimes felt a bit narrow.
r/editors • Curved monitors? ->Got Samsung 49” monster, 1080p. It’s pretty good, I haven’t really encountered any problematic games aside from Souls, Elden Ring, Sekiro. And even those can be fixed via open source software. Surprisingly, all Resident evils, ( even RE5 ) are supporting the resolution. Can’t even imagine playing on anything else anymore. CS 2 is a bit of a wreck though
r/DotA2 • Are there ultrawide monitor gamers here? ->The only disadvantage is it’s heavy asf, and due to my table being from IKEA, can’t mount it with arm in fear of table giving in to pressure. Also the leg basically takes up the whole table
r/DotA2 • Are there ultrawide monitor gamers here? ->why not both? i have the samsungs 49in monitor next to my gigabyte 27in
r/excel • Two monitors or ultrawide? What is everyone using? ->eu tenho um lg ultrawide da samsung, de 49", e 2 monitores em outro pc... sinceramente, prefiro com 2 monitores para programar... é mais confortável
r/hardwarebrasil • 2 monitores ou 1 ultrawide para programar? ->i have the 49 inch samsung and id go with the 45 lg in a heart beat. ive had problems with the samsung since ive gotten it
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->For me personally, not really. Running my 49” samsung as a 21:9 / 11:9 dual-input setup or whatever it lands at.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Those of you that own a 32:9 monitor, is it really worth it for gaming over a 21:9? ->49 all the way
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->We have the 49” Samsung and love it.
r/simracing • 43" tv or 49" ultrawide monitor? ->I have the 49 samsung and i wish i had more vertical . Should have went with the 45 lg
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->I have a 49" Samsung and have no ragrets. I prefer gaming at 1440 to 4k.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buyers remorse OLED G9 —> LG 5k2k instead? ->I built a setup just like this and when I put it together I realized it was terrible. Returned the TV and got a 49" ultrawide Samsung instead, much happier with it
r/simracing • 43" tv or 49" ultrawide monitor? ->I have both and I prefer the 45. The 49 feels narrow and anything that doesn’t use the whole screen is essentially in a 27 inch screen which is too small.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->Productivity? I like the 49 to spilt it Full transparency I have a 49
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->i used to use the 49, then move back to 32, 4k oled 240hz.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->I got it on sale for $1399 @ B&H. I probably looked at every other monitor above 34" out there. Test drove a 49 Samsung for a while, even tried the 57 but it was way too big for my desk.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Dell U4025 still the best productivity monitor? ->Just upgraded my 49" Samsung to the 57" Acer, I'm deep in the ultra wide hole....
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ? ->I have an Ultrawide curved 49in Samsung monitor and it’s awesome.
r/mac • An ultrawide curved monitor suitable for a Mac – does this exist at all?
->I had the original 49” G9 with a 3090 back in 2021 and it was great. I just recently switched to the 57” with a 5090. Your 5080 will be more than enough for that resolution. You’ll want to use all of the AI tricks to use ray and path tracing but you’ll get a solid FPS.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Really considering this monitor - have a 5080 ->I’m currently rocking the 49” Samsung Odyssey G9 which is a nice monitor and great for work. I love the space and it’s very nice for gaming. I’ve been considering this monitor because the down side of the G9 is I don’t have much space for monitors in the side. I have one stacked above it and it’s like cracking my neck every time to look up. Knowing the aspect resolution is smaller is enticing to me from a gaming perspective, most likely more frames. I have a 9800X3D and a 9070 XT. Would you still recommend this monitor for my use case? I literally just searched for reviews and found yours last night 😂
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 45GX950A Review – 5K2K OLED Is the CRAZIEST Gaming Monitor of 2025! ->Started out with the 49 g9, then went to the 57 g9, then to the 45 5k2k. IMO the lg is the best for me. 49 felt squished verically. 57 is great for productivity. Gaming is ok. The 32:9 felt like to much on most games. Blooming is an issue. Use case is mostly gaming.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Torn between LG 5k2k or Odyssey OLED G9 ->I use my M1 MacBook Pro with my odyssey G9 at 5120x1440 and it handles it perfectly. I see no reason the m4 mini would have a problem.
r/macmini • How Mac Mini M4 works with ultra wide 49" screens (5120x1440)? ->It would feel too short. The 49” G9 is a 27” 16:9 display in vertical height. The LG 45” 5k2k is a 36” 16:9 display in vertical height.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What is the best ultrawide in your opinion? ->Using a Samsung Odyssey G9 49" and could never go back. Using it to work on is a game changer as its so easy to see everything on screen at once and for gaming it is great but the caveat is that there are many games without native support for 5k so it can take a bit of fiddling to get the best result
r/pcmasterrace • Ultrawide screens yes or no? ->I had that 49” G9 hated the fov, went to vr didn’t like the fov felt like racing in swim goggles. Went to 32” triples love it
r/simracing • This monitor vs triples? Need recommendations ->I came from 49” G9 to 57” G9 to LG 5k2k. The 49” is too short. The 57” was great but not OLED and also made my 4090 bleed. The LG 5k2k is the sweet spot. 4090 can handle it with DLSS quality and with DLSS4 performance looks just as good as quality but obviously more FPS. I like to run my games at High or Ultra, native res and the 4090 can handle the LG 5k2k. 80-90 fps for ok optimized games and 120+ for well optimized games.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buyers remorse OLED G9 —> LG 5k2k instead? ->Samsung galaxy g9 49inch is the bomb
r/sales • Ultra wide or multiple monitors ->As someone who has a 7800X3D & 7900XTX, I raise you a counter offer. Neither a 34” ultrawide or a 32” 4K. But a 39” or 45” ultrawide instead. I went with the LG 45”. This is coming from a G9 Odyssey 49”. And I started with a 34” ultrawide before that. The one thing that was missing from my G9 was just the vertical screen real estate. It makes it extremely immersive more so than the G9 could ever hit. Plus it runs easier than 4K so you can still hit all of the high fps in a lot of games.
r/OLED_Gaming • Gaming on 34" 1440p ultrawide or 4k 32"? ->Yeah I just got a 49 and preemptively had bought a new desk that I knew would hold it. Like months ago ‘just in case’ I decided to get one. And then I just did it with the g9 lol.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • You guys are savages ->As an owner of the 49” ultrawide monitor Odyssey G9, I believe the sweet spot for the ultrawide monitor is between 39” to 45”, 5k resolution with at least 120 hz refresh rate. Anything bigger is too big and anything smaller defeat the purpose of ultrawide concept. Of course in order to take advantage of this, you need a high end system with a 4090 or higher video card, which I currently have.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I have no issues using my Samsung Odyssey G9 QHD with my Mac mini M4 Pro. It’s connected via Thunderbolt to DisplayPort, running 5120x1440 at 240Hz.
r/macmini • How Mac Mini M4 works with ultra wide 49" screens (5120x1440)? ->I went from 27" 1080p triples to a 49" G9 ultrawide. Only stayed on the ultrawide for a few months before upgrading again, this time to 32" 1440p triples. It's a night and day difference, not even close. The 49" is perfectly fine but it pales in comparison to triples.
r/simracing • 43" tv or 49" ultrawide monitor? ->Funny enough I'm considering the 40" for home for gaming and want to use it to replace my 49". I prefer the vertical space to the horizontal. The added horizontal on the 49 isn't worth the lack of vertical for me! But, I also know that because I have a 38" I use for work so I can see what a 40" would look like. I currently have my 49" listed. Just my 2 cents since I have screens of similar sizes to both to compare it to.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 5k2k 40" vs 5k 1440p 49" for productivity - resolution vs physical dimensions ->True but also personal preference. The monitor I use for work I used to use for gaming and productivity. Got the 49 as an upgraded but never got used to it for either. I like my square shape I guess.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 5k2k 40" vs 5k 1440p 49" for productivity - resolution vs physical dimensions ->I’m rocking the Samsung Odyssey G9 49 2023 and this baby is great for productivity and the text isn’t small imo with this monitor
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->Yes. I bought a Samsung Odyssey G9 49” for gaming. Even though the OLED display and 240Hz refresh rate are top notch, I couldn’t adjust to 32:9 for games. Not a fan of black bands on each side of a game ( most ). I prefer gaming on a LG C9 55” 4K (@120Hz) Now, the Samsung G9 is used solely for productivity. Excel is great on one third of the screen. Teams open on another 3rd of the screen; and the last third of a screen a browser open for AI/etc and I am rockin and rollin.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does the perfect Ultrawide monitor for productivity first and gaming second exist? ->For programming you want a high vertical height to have a good overview over your code. For gaming, you want a wide horizontal width in order to improve immersion. Theoreticaly, those requirements contradict each other. Now, there are different solutions to this. One solution would be a smaller and lighter widescreen than can be turned easily to be used vertically alongside your laptop for work or horizontally for gaming. This is the cheapest solution, but it can be annoying to readjust your screen twice a day. Another affordable option would be going for a non-ultrawide screen that is more flexibly in its use. Currently, my SO is using my old 32:9 Odyssey G9 Ultradewide for coding.... Let's just say, it wouldn't be comfortable for me. Too much vertical scrolling. Of cause, a good old two monitor setup should also be considered. It would also be cheaper than premium widescreens. Now, that being said - if you are willing and able to pay a premium price, the new LG 950 5k 2K would meet all your needs. Its massive screen size makes it highly immersive for playing and for work, with grwat clarity The screen (1m wide, 46cm high) can be segmented into multiple windows, e.g. one simulated vertical widescreen on the left for programming and two horizontal widescreens on the right for JIRA and TEAMs.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • UltraWide for Programming on a Mac and gaming on a PC? ->Idk I'ma be so real ultra wide (if not used for office work too) is overrated and lame. 32 inch monitors are also over bewringly large. My advice as from someone who's owners odyssey G7 32 (16:9) , odyssey G9 32:9, and odyssey G8 QD OLED 34 (21:9). My best advise is just get a 1440 qd OLED monitor from Samsung or LG in 16:9. Hella fps, hella color, hella optimization. Just my opinion now if I were to still be a PC gamer. I own a Galaxy book 3 ultra 4079 and it has a 1880p screen 120 fps RR + gysnc and it's the best. It's my college laptop but when I wanna play planet coaster 2 or Toontown it's great.
r/OLED_Gaming • New 4K monitor absolutely wrecks FPS, should I “downgrade”? ->My 3060 has no issue running pretty much all racing games at Ultra on a 49" Odyssey G9. Y'all are tripping.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buyers remorse OLED G9 —> LG 5k2k instead? ->Yeah not sure. I also have the g9 49” and absolutely love it. I also have the crg9 49” and the lack of curve is pretty noticeable. Much prefer the g9. Sounds like the 57” might be somewhere in between. I’d like to see one in person but can’t find it anywhere.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->I use a 49” Samsung Odyssey G9 with a M2 Pro Mac mini at 5120x1440. Works fine, with no blurred text under macOS and Windows 11 on VMware Fusion (which is now free for personal use, BTW).
r/mac • An ultrawide curved monitor suitable for a Mac – does this exist at all? ->Id vote samsung, 1000r is awesome and I trust them more then asus.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Which 34" Ultrawide would you pick? ->I recently went through this when upgrading my screen about 6 months ago. Do I want an ultrawide? Absolutely. Would I design on an ultrawide? No I would not. Most ultrawides have too aggressive of a curve to be suitable for design work in my opinion. If it's a mild curve >1500R it might be okay. I tried experimenting with a 1000R Samsung and just couldn't hang with the amount of distortion. I ended up getting a non curved 32" 16:9 4K instead. It's right at the edge of what I consider comfortable as far as seeing the far edges of the display. I do absolutely love the increased real estate of using a smaller GUI scaling.
r/graphic_design • Has anyone got experience using an ultrawide monitor? ->I’m on a 49 inch Samsung G9 5120x1440p. My old build 5950 & 3080 held reasonably well but did struggle at times.
r/pcmasterrace • Advice on (ultrawide) OLED monitor ->Maybe I took it too far, but I replaecd a 32" 16x9 with a 49" Samsung Odyssey G9, 32x9. I liked it at first but eventually really missed the extra vertical space. I eventually went back to 32" 16x9.
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ? ->I have dual 2k. The odyssey G9. 5120x1440. I love the width. I think I would have a hard time going back to normal size now. You can push that to much higher resolutions with a higher tier card as well.
r/starcitizen • 4k or 21:9 for SC? ->Yep, 49 for me. Next step is 57 I guess 🤷♂️
r/starcitizen • 4k or 21:9 for SC? ->I had a 49” odyssey, it was nice, but nowhere close to the immersion you get with properly setup triples.
r/iRacing • Thinking about getting a 57" ultrawide monitor and ditching my triple 27" curved setup. Any reason not to? Has anyone else recently moved from triples to a 57" curved? ->I like my Samsung G9 for wfh. It’s essentially two 27 inch 1440p monitors combined.
r/workfromhome • Need advise on a good office ultra wide monitor with an aggressive curve ->Try fancyzones, a tool within PowerToys, a free Microsoft product. Helps a lot with my 49in ultrawide Samsung g9.
r/workfromhome • Need advise on a good office ultra wide monitor with an aggressive curve ->It’s very sharp. Only thing I’d have liked is for it to be taller. It’s so extremely wide but only as tall as a 27 inch monitor.
r/workfromhome • Need advise on a good office ultra wide monitor with an aggressive curve ->Yeah this was a struggle for me, choosing between the G9 and a bigger 4k monitor (or even 4k oled tv). For wfh the g9 is great, for some gaming (that would benefit from more vertical real estate) it’s terrible.
r/workfromhome • Need advise on a good office ultra wide monitor with an aggressive curve ->I don't think it's a fair comparison, the 49" is on par with something like a 34"-38" 21:9 screen, while the 45" you should compare to the 57" G9.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->How much is G9 57"? Because for purely productivity, I would get that, it's just straight up superior to the 49" G9.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->I had a 49” odyssey and moved to triples as the ultrawides are just too small for horizontal FOV. I’d still go triples
r/simracing • This monitor vs triples? Need recommendations ->I have a Samsung 49" wide, curved, gaming monitor (5120 x 1440) I also use for work. With Windows PowerToys Fancy Zones, it's a great way to lay out windows.
r/VisualStudio • Visual Studio and ultrawide monitors ->Samsung 49 odyssey. i am now using a curve monitor, there is clearly a big different between a flat and curve for UW.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Ultrawide Monitor for office work ->Terrible choice for work. I prefer my g9 49 for work over lg 5k2k. Screen is much sharper on g9. Also Les to worry to burn in my ide on oled.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is LG 45in 5k2k worth considering if I don’t get game and just want it for productivity? ->Having tried both 16:9 and 32:9 monitors, I definitely feel like the sweet spot is 21:9. Looking forward to trying it out, I’ve ordered one but my country won’t have them available until June/July. This will be my first 4K and first OLED monitor, currently using Samsung G9 49”, just got hold of a 5090 and feels overkill for 1440p
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->As someone who just bought the g9 you are talking about this is the answer. The fov required to even play in 32:9 gives me headaches on most games (that I can even get working), the 45" 5k2k is 100% the sweet spot for normal gaming. The only reason I bought the 32:9 49" g9 is for sim racing, and its awesome for that (just not the best for normal gaming). Above all else, id prioritize oled though.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Should I be getting a 32:9 or a 21:9 monitor? ->I recently bought the Samsung G9 Odyssey 49”. 32:9. I can’t go back.
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ? ->Hey folks, I play on a 49 inch oddysey g9. Whenever I play Warzone I have the game shrank to ultrawide rather than super ultrawide and have two black bars on either edge of the screen. Cannot find the option to do this on battlefield 6. Anybody know what setting I need to change to do it on bf6?
r/Battlefield6 • Perfect Super Ultrawide support. ->I have a 49" and 57" G9 Samsungs so not on your list that you're looking at and plugged into several Macs. First the 1000R curve is almost a must for me because the curve matches the plane of my eyes when I turn head, the screen looks straight to me. Great for ergonomics. The scaling and text quality is fine to me but I know others find it blurry compared to retina resolutions because ultra wide is a not a retina sanctioned resolution. That said, it works fine for productivity and movie watching. Others can opine on if the apps make it better. To me, the extra screen real estate is the win that I was chasing. If you need text clarity, stick with a 5k monitor.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Macs and ultrawide monitors ->Before buying my 49" inch G9 I heard the same kind of reviews from various sources - that the curve of the screen is difficult for the eyes to get used to, among other things. I did enough research to come to the conclusion that those reviews were total bullshit. After receiving mine, I now think that those reviews were *surely* paid by competing companies as the 49" G9 is literally *perfect* for the eyes. I suspect that the same thing is happening here.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->Yeah I dunno, the 49” has the same sort of thing going on with sort of flat ends. It’s not noticeable and it’s probably intentional to improve UX.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->Using my 49-inch Samsung G9 for productivity! Va, but the text is super clear and I can do 3 screens at once on it. Get 1440p at 120 hz on my Macbook Air M3, but I am just using a dock I love anyway and needed for peripherals.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does the perfect Ultrawide monitor for productivity first and gaming second exist? ->I’m a software dev, and I use a 49’ G9. With something like fancy zones I massively prefer its flexibility to that of a 2 screen set up (although you can run it as two monitors). Ideally I want to replace it with the 57’ to effectively get 2 4k 32’ panels.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 32:9 vs waiting for 32:10 vs 2 separate 16:9, SW dev ->you should unironically get the samsung g9 because the 110 PPI is almost exactly the same retina resolution as your macbook air's 224 PPI at 200% scale (112). things will look the same size on your 49 inch at 100% scaling so it'll be easy to move things between them. i have a LG GX9 with 125 ppi and my macbook pro 14" has 254 PPI, and at default 200% scaling u get 1512 x 982 = 127 ppi. i have the choice between using my monitor at 100% DPI and with effectively +4 laptop screens of space to put stuff in albeit with tiny font, or using it as my sole monitor with 2560 x 1080 scaled resolution which gives me effectively still retina but more than native resolution. and in retina, the OLED font issues don't exist, much less with the change from RWBG to a more similar to OS expected RGB with RGWB improving sharpness edit: jk retina on macbook air is different. the native res 13.6" changes 2560 x 1664 to 1470 x 956, which gives effectively 143 PPI on the scaled "retina" resolution. that would mean you should go for a 4k 32" monitor at 138 PPI for your macbook air instead, for similar real life sizes. the samsung 49" will make your windows look too big once you move them to it unless you apply a 125% scale, but your text will look pretty bad in macOS with that scaling at non-retina res
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->I love my Samsung odyssey 49 Samsung really put alot into this thing too that gives it sooo much more finction than just a monitor making it highly worth it imo. Idk what LG has to offer ap worse but the Samsung doubles as a literal Xbox by connecting a controller to it and streaming games through gamepass on it. That is just the start
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->Hows the 1% and 0.1% lows, kinda curious if its gonna be a smooth ride or an endless nightmare of optimization. 4090 and 9800 here on a 49 Odessey so kinda looking forward to it but if its another stutter fiesta I'll save my stonks 😀
r/Battlefield6 • Perfect Super Ultrawide support. ->I currently have a 49" Samsung G9 and been on the market to replace it with something more practical for work. while its great sometimes I feel like a less aggressive ratio like the 21:9 on this GX9 would be more practical for work. this has it all!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I'm on the Samsung 49" Ultrawide one. The game is absolutely beautiful with it. I think I spent a good 2 hours the first night with it just flying around looking at planets and shit. It gave me a new appreciation for this games artwork and beauty. Even being docked in stations feels so much more cool too. It definitely took a few weeks of getting used to. I moved a lot of windows around a lot before I settled on a overview layout that works for me where I'm not moving my head left to right so much. The real estate for multiple overviews is worth it. I have 5 overviews with plenty room for more if I find something else I'd like separated. Save the monitor on Amazon. It does go on sale. I got it like 25% off for Prime Day a few months ago which is a few hundred bucks saved.
r/Eve • Anyone play on an Ultrawide OLED screen? ->Nope, not stretched. It supports the 5120x1440 resolution just fine. Meanwhile, Borderlands 4, a brand new game, can not support it properly, and it does get stretched out pretty funky like on the outer ends of the monitor. But, that game is a shit hole with a whole ass mess of other problems anyway.
r/Eve • Anyone play on an Ultrawide OLED screen? ->I second this. I use the same set up and essentially split the screen into 3 monitors. As my main layout I have the main center area take up about ~40% and the side areas take up ~30% each. Fancy zones also lets you have different layouts so the percent values actually change depending on what I’m doing but generally I have it as described above. Side note for OP, gaming can be wonky on a 49 inch ultra wide
r/VisualStudio • Visual Studio and ultrawide monitors ->I have a mac mini M1 on a 49" 5120x1440 monitor and i am never going back.
r/macmini • Mac Mini with an ultrawide monitor? ->It's not tall, it is just really really \*really\* wide (whole width of my desk), which is amazing for how I work. Would not work well as a TV at all ;)
r/macmini • Mac Mini with an ultrawide monitor? ->I have a Samsung 49" 5120x1440. Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB DDR4. I used to have a 2080ti which could get 60-100FPS in space, 30-40 FPS on the ground. A mix of settings per the guidance from the nVidia GeForce Experience app. I upgraded to a 4080 and am now locked at 120FPS in space, and 60-75FPS on the ground. Weirdly, when on the ground and not hitting the 120FPS cap, none of my components are bottlenecked in any way (I'm running an Aida64 sensor panel on another screen). GPU Power, RAM, frequency, VRAM, utilisation, all well below max. No CPU thread more than 25-30%. I don't know why it can't run at the full locked FPS.
r/EliteDangerous • CMDRs running Ultrawide monitors, what Monitor and Graphics cards do you use? ->I was debating for a long time between the 49" 32x9 Samsung or the 45" 21x9 lg, I went with the 45" since it's actually bigger. Also most game recognizes the 21x9 ratio. The aspect ratio of the 49" is not as common. Also the 49" runs hot. I went to the local best buy and I can really feel the heat even in a normal functioning distance, something to be aware of.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does anyone have this monitor and recommend it? ->I’m a daily GIS/AutoCAD user with a 49” Samsung super ultra wide. Not gonna lie, I love it. I use PowerToys to set up workspaces I can snap windows to in place. ArcGIS is essentially in the middle in a 16:9 radio (I think it’s actually slightly wider) and then I have a space on each side of that window I can snap to. I also keep my laptop lid open so that acts as my second monitor technically. On my laptop I have Outlook or Teams or Spotify. Then on the ultra wide, I have (from left to right) my reference material, ArcGIS, and then an attribute table. It’s a game changer personally
r/gis • Thoughts/ Suggestion on Super Ultrawide monitors ->I bought 34" ultra wide and difference is kinda small. You cannot see if there is a car next to you. Even if you get something giga expensive like 49" samsung oddessey you still wont see a car next to you. So yea don't expect much. I do not regret buying mine but I do plan to buy 2 more for a triple 34" setup. When it comes to performance u shouldnt worry too much unless u are on some really old gpu. iRacing is very easy to run. I am on 3070 ti, I was at locked 144fps before and i am at locked 165fps now, obviously low graphics because this is a competitive sim, nobodys here for graphics. There is a bunch of vids that can give you idea what you can expect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjarVycYkPM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owwrNuK7aR8
r/iRacing • 27 inch to 34 inch monitor ->I went from Samsung 49 inch ultrawide, to LG C3 42 to Alienware 34 inch to Alienware 32inch 4k and i finally think this is where i will stay.
r/OLED_Gaming • Trying to decide between 34" Ultrawide vs 32" 4K ->I'm using the Samsung... Only comparison is if I go to a simulator place with triples... The triples is definitely more immersive but with the cost of monitors and GPUs I'm good with the Samsung 49 inch. I need to improve my lap times before dumping more money hearing disapproval from the wifey
r/simracing • This monitor vs triples? Need recommendations ->2 different 49" samsung models both died on me in about a year. Would not recommend, neither was OLED.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide monitor? price not an issue. ->2 different 49" samsung models both died on me in about a year. Would not recommend, neither was OLED.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide monitor? price not an issue. ->I went from 2 monitors plus my MacBook screen to a single 49” ultra wide Samsung monitor. I love it and will never go back to multiple monitors. My wfh office is also just so sleek and clean looking now.
r/sales • Ultra wide or multiple monitors ->I'm also coming from 38" Alienware, and it's so hard to find a good replacement. I tried samsung 49" (too wide) and AW 32" OLED and this was too narrow. Also some OLED can cause eye strain and headaches, and I'm very sensitive to this. Debating should I pull a trigger, since 5k2k finally coming down in price. Side note, I tried it previously, but returned, as I couldn't justify how expensive it was when it came out. Screen was gorgeous, but my ergotron LX arm barely could keep this monstrosity weight.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Another LG 5K2K perfection post... ->Savage setup, nice work dude. Makes me want to trade in my Samsung 49 even though I love it. . .
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Let’s talk LG 5K2K OLED ->I think Samsung probably has more issues than other brands, but it gets blown out of proportion. I've had a Samsung 49 since 2020 which my wife now uses and the Samsung 57 since it launched without any issues.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 57" Ultrawide? ->I really like playing xiv on my Samsung 49". The only complaint I have is as a tank when there are markers above some bosses that need to be seen for mechanics, it can be hard. Just a little more vertical fov would be nice.
r/ffxiv • 32:9 vs 21:9 ->As the owner of an Odyssey G9, although not the OLED, I have to say that YES and YES, in terms of games, not all of them are compatible with the resolution, especially older games, they will look bad and you will have to opt for a lower resolution with edges on the sides but without more, in terms of CAD the straight lines can be bent So I would not opt for this monitor for hyper-serious 3D modeling
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does anyone have this monitor and recommend it? ->As an owner of three G9 Odyssey, I’m going to say that this 5K2K monitor might really be the sweet spot since I’m certain more games support this aspect ratio.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I have had a g9 odyssey for 4 years, three house moves. No dead pixels, no issues, great monitor. If you take care of stuff it will usually take care of you in my experience. I would purchase another G9 at this point if I needed to. It's been great to me.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Recommendations on my 1st ultrawide ->I have both, i prefer the g9 as it works every time, no tweaking settings and i get a bigger fov. I do miss the depth perception and elevation changes so i understand why people can’t go back to screens. Running at 200fps is incredibly smooth and everything is clearer than you’ll ever get in vr so I’m happy with my decision.
r/iRacing • Should I switch from VR to Ultrawide ->Don't get an OLED, as good as it is for gaming and movies it is bad to read texts on. Samsung odyssey g9 or lg UW dual qhd, both are great
r/Monitors • Please reccomend an ultrawide monitor with good text clarity ->Feel that, I threw it away my odyssey g9 box and now idk what to do when I move...
r/ultrawidemasterrace • You guys are savages ->Yup, had an odyssey g9 for 3 years and just switched over to a normal 16:9 32" and omg i much prefer the vertical space. Don't miss the ultra wide at all honestly.
r/pcmasterrace • Ultrawide screens yes or no? ->I have a 49" odyssey G9 and I have to run it in a 3440x1440 21:9 to get the performance I want. My 4090 is showing age with the full 32:9 5760×1440 experience. This is why I wont buy monitors with too many P's or K's anymore. For now I just set the GPU to control the aspect ratio to 3440x1440 via the geforce tool. This was the one thing I hated about console gaming. Their hardware was too far behind the curb for them to be pushing 4k gaming so hard. I'd much rather have a much lower resolution with higher graphic fidelity and framerate
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buyers remorse OLED G9 —> LG 5k2k instead? ->I mean I happily game on my 59" dual 4k G9... If anything in some games I drop resolution down ones step and I'm still plenty content.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buyers remorse OLED G9 —> LG 5k2k instead? ->I'm not going to tell you what to do, just share my experience I've moved from a reverb G2 to a G9 ultra wide and setup head tracking with my webcam and open track and I'm perfectly happy to have left VR in my rear view. Image clarity, frame rate and the lack of fucking around optimising VR are all worth it. I use a playseat trophy and have the monitor mounted right over the top of my wheel
r/iRacing • Should I switch from VR to Ultrawide ->Issue no-one talks about is performance. I have an Odyssey G9 and I moved from a 4K TV essentially. The 4K has more pixels, but the render window on the ultrawide means I am rendering many more objects in view per frame - and hence a proper frame drop which is counter intuative. In terms of experience some games are really much better this way ( RDR2 ) and some just don't work at all in this aspect and look crap.
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ? ->Would be great to upgrade from an AW3821DW. Tried a g9 odyssey and returned it. Sweet spot is definitely 40".
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->Got the G9 almost a year ago. Playing games like BF1, RDR2 and even fortnite look amazing. Even Skyrim. Its incredible. Maybe the best thing ive ever bought.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Those of you that own a 32:9 monitor, is it really worth it for gaming over a 21:9? ->I play on Borderless Display mode 2560x1440 240fps on my Samsung Oddyssey G9 UW. Playing on full screen just feels too much. Easier to focus on 16:9.
r/RocketLeague • Question for players playing with (ultra)wide monitors ->So true, I wish I hadn’t gone with a G9 for my racing sim.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buyers remorse OLED G9 —> LG 5k2k instead? ->Started on 21:9, now on 32:9, I love it. OLED or IPS: Depends on your use case. Do you have a big variety of pictures displayed, for example movies, many different games etc., then you can consider OLED. If you play only one game or use a main program like vegas or photoshop, then I would consider IPS to prevent burn in. I do use IPS myself and I don’t have any problems with it. Also, if you play games, you will need better hardware for the same performance. Check if your PC can handle the resolution of the monitor you think about buying first.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is ULTRAWIDE actually worth it!!! ->I’m not sure about prices in general at the moment, back when I’ve bought my G9 it was about 1k€. You may want to research if the IPS version might be cheaper than the oled. This was the case atleast back when I bought mine. In any case you should check different manufacturers and displays, just to make sure you are not overpaying for a brand name or anything.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is ULTRAWIDE actually worth it!!!
->It’s just opinions man. I had VR, still have my Odyssey G9, but now I have triples I will never go back. People complain about depth perception, but the brain is amazing. That’s why games are called 3D….when you look at the picture…you see a 3D image 🤯 you don’t see it IN 3D, but the brain understands what is happening and processes it as a 3D image. I don’t see a screen when I look at my triples, I see the front of the car and the wide open road.
r/simracing • Recommendation for great 32” triples or is Ultrawide the way to go? ->I have two G9s stacked on top of each other and always feel good whenever working. Coming from 27" 2560x1440, playing games was hard to get used to because of the ultrawide resolution. All in all, I definitely think that it was worth moving over. The main downside that I have is the inability to screenshare on Discord. My friends always see huge black bars on my screen whenever I share something, and it's quite unfortunate that I'm never able to stream a movie / etc. Because of this, I was actually thinking of downgrading to maybe 32"
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Upgrading my 31.5" 1080p monitor. Is the switch to ultra wide worth it? Or should I downsize to 27" ->I have a non oled g9 and it serves me well
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best non-OLED ultrawide ->A couple tips on the G9: mount it directly in front of your wheel base. Touching isn’t too close. Secondly, enable triple monitor mode in games that support it; this will prevent stretching. Just check the display settings. After that, THEN use a fov calculator to get that set correctly. Mine mounted right behind the wheel came out to about 100 degrees. Having all of this set up correctly will have you judging speed and distance much more accurately.
r/simracing • Triple monitor advice ->Exact same decision process led me to the G9. I'm going to wait until a 6090 before going 5K2K. But still, I love my G9 experience thus far.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buyers remorse OLED G9 —> LG 5k2k instead? ->Not sure why people are making it sound like you can't possibly run an Ultrawide and a second monitor, but as someone who is doing so currently, it's phenomenal. For raiding, 32:9 lets me view so much more, while my second monitor is set up vertical with discord on top, and my browser on the bottom. When I'm doing something like crafting though, my monitor (Odyssey G9) has built in Picture-by-Picture that lets me effectively split it into two 16:9 screens, so I can do vibe crafting with netflix on the side without having to play in windowed mode, or even plug my switch in to one side while my crafting macros do their thing.
r/ffxiv • Ultrawide or Normal monitor? ->I’m playing the same way with my Odyssey G9 :D
r/Battlefield6 • Perfect Super Ultrawide support. ->The LG5K2K is objectively awesome but yeah something about the Samsung Odyssey G9 just draws me in more. I actually really like the height of it personally—it feels more like a *computer* monitor to me at that height. Maybe growing up with strictly 16:9 everywhere as a kid and young adult just made me accustomed to it. The height almost makes me nostalgic lol. The 5K2K on the other hand, while it is still very much a computer monitor shape, it sort of edges closer to a tv shape in my mind compared to my Odyssey. That’s not really an issue, but just a personal preference of mine to have a shorter height.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Another LG 5K2K perfection post... ->The g9 is nice. I have the 34 G8 , now I wish I went for the bigger one. Does it properly support the resolution or is it slightly stretched out?
r/Eve • Anyone play on an Ultrawide OLED screen? ->I didnt try the 800r, I think it's 1600 or 1800r on my first G9 I much prefer the height on the LG. That's the only thing I want in my G9.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 45-inch LG monitor or the 49-inch Samsung monitor? ->I also have a Mac Mini M4 and using a Samsung Odyssey G9, text looks sharp and smells great 😉
r/macmini • Ultrawide monitor for Mac mini ->I have issues screen sharing with my G9. If you can share just a window it solves the screen sharing issue, but if your going to share the entire screen, others will have issues and need to zoom in on an area.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 45GX950A Review – 5K2K OLED Is the CRAZIEST Gaming Monitor of 2025! ->Wasn't it 2x 27? 24 is quite short vertically, we have one of those at work (G9), but I don't remember it being that small.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does anyone have this monitor and recommend it? ->It really depends on you / not everyone finds it comfortable enough to wear all day - but I wear it every day - up to 15 hrs a day doing dev work amongst other things.. I replaced my 3 desktop setups with my avp - dual 49” G9 odyssey stacked - 55” LG Oled - a random quad screen setup Haven’t missed them at all and I just took them down to reclaim space this last week.
r/VisionPro • Vision Pro instead of a ultra wide monitor ->Yeah I bought an odyssey g9 and I love it so much https://preview.redd.it/xivgyl34igpf1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=90f54a7a670e2ef704b46b11cc7fe29741788ea6
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ? ->I play on a 32:9 and love it, it is very immersive that said I am not competive and only play turbo so I don't really care for the downsides, but it would likely effect you negatively if you were trying to sweat that said, you do have like so much extra space on your left and right that your opponents just can't with a normal monitor, so there's a lot more information on screen
r/TrueDoTA2 • anyone play dota 2 in ultrawide aspect ratio 21:9? ->Samsung Odyssey g9 - was lucky enough to get work to expense it
r/TrueDoTA2 • anyone play dota 2 in ultrawide aspect ratio 21:9? ->Playing on Samsung odyssey G9. Advantage: * You can see from tier 2 to tier 1 tower in one screen and have more information available to you * You have no space for a second screen with youtube that distracts you Disadvantage: * It can be too much information, which can make you lose focus on the closer things or in general be overwhelming (especially at the start, you will get used to it) * The shop is quite far in the corner, smart shopping is neccesary (key binds or multiple items in shopping queue) * Basically you cannot shop and look at your hero at the same time if your camera is centred Overall it is pretty good but nothing ground breaking. I wouldnt pay the high price of such a monitor for dota. They shine more at atmospheric games with good graphics, imo. But Dota 2 does work better than some games as you have no black bars but a real full screnn. Many other games (eg PoE 2) dont tolerate the 32:9 but only go to 21:9 with black bars for the rest
r/DotA2 • Are there ultrawide monitor gamers here? ->You will not regret the G9. Had one for a year and it's a game changer, literally and figuratively. I'd love to have a 5090 to go with it but a 4090 handles it pretty well. Dual 4k FTW
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Will there be a new Samsung Super Ultrawide monitor? ->Why two apps? With my 2x 1440P screens I can snap 4. With 3 it’s 6. And I’ve rarely found games that support 21:9 or higher; most don’t or do so very poorly without flawless widescreen. Really curious what you’re running to make it work well, as I’m planning on throwing my G9 out for a set of normal 4k screens. I have to use it as a glorified 1440P screen with huge black bars.
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ? ->Had an Odyssey G9 for 3 years. Replacing it with a normal 4K screen as soon as I can; 75% of games don’t support it and 15% do so poorly. It’s a glorified 1440P screen with black bars and mediocre desktop management over multiple normal screens.
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ? ->I got a G9 a couple years ago and I'm regretting it. It's just too wide for the sides to be usable without turning my head. Also the resolution isn't amazing since most of my days are spent developing software on it and it's only 5120 x 1440 so that vertical resolution isn't much better than 1080. I wish I went for something like maybe a 34" and maybe a secondary monitor above it both with a higher resolution
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Upgrading my 31.5" 1080p monitor. Is the switch to ultra wide worth it? Or should I downsize to 27" ->Have a g9 one and over a year still no problems at all. Had a green pixel come up at one point, but fixed it somehow and everything's fine. Maybe yours is a faulty one.
r/RocketLeague • D you play with a curved monitor? ->Feels amazing tbh. Can feel like I see more as well lol. Mine's the samsung ultrawide one.
r/RocketLeague • D you play with a curved monitor? ->My 4090 is kicking ass with the gx9
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buyers remorse OLED G9 —> LG 5k2k instead? ->I WFH with mine and it's great. I would say the Odyssey G9 is slightly better for "productivity" workloads, but this screen is fantastic for mixed use and excels in games.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Months in with the LG 45GX950 and it still puts a wider smile on my face every day. The 5K ultrawide immersion and detail feel like seeing something so unreal you just have to grab your camera… knowing it’ll never match what your eyes see. But here we go again. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 🤩 ->When games take full advantage of the entire screen it's absolutely magical , games are so incredible to play , other games require mods or work around but the expirence is worth the hassle, however I see myself going from the oddessy g9 to the LG 45" 5k2k when I can get it on sale in the future for the vertical space and the more aggressive 800r curve
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Those of you that own a 32:9 monitor, is it really worth it for gaming over a 21:9? ->if the 57” was oled id give up my g9
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What is the best ultrawide in your opinion? ->Biggest downside is PPI (Pixel Per Inch) density. For some jobs, it matters. I do software development so I want the sharpest text possible if I am staring at Visual Studio Code 8-10 hours a day. No ultrawide comes close to a (true) 5K or 6K monitor. I have a G9 Oddyssey and it actually hurts my eyes right after I use my two LG 5Ks. It has the same PPI as a 15 inch 1336x768 cheap Office Depot laptop at 108 PPI vs 219 PPI on a 5K monitor or 265 on my laptop. if you insist on an ultrawide, I suggest some of the 5K2K. It comes close to a true 5K but still not close enough. Always pull the PPI stats or calculate them (there are online calculators)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Want to switch to an ultrawide for work… are there any downsides? ->Samsung G9 and EVGA 3090. Dial everything up to maximum. It is glorious. VR still brings it to its knees though.
r/EliteDangerous • CMDRs running Ultrawide monitors, what Monitor and Graphics cards do you use? ->Man, the LG 5k2k looks pretty good, NGL. I still favor the Odyssey GO tho, just for the price. Got mine for 760€ on Samsung official store about 1 month ago and I'm loving it. The Odyssey G9 world be perfect is the screen was a bit taller in my opinion... Also, f Sukuna. All my homies hate him.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Another LG 5K2K perfection post... ->You're right. Don't get me wrong, I love my G9 and even more at the price I got it. It's just a few games that don't fully support the aspect ratio looking a bit stretched. Overall, I still like the G9 over the 2K5K. That being said, both are my go to if you want a HUGE ultra wide because man, they're so BIG and LONG 👁️🫦👁️...
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Another LG 5K2K perfection post... ->I switched from VR to a 48 G9 Odyssey to triple 32s. I would've stuck with the UW but it died two months into owning it
r/iRacing • Should I switch from VR to Ultrawide ->I actually prefer the curve to the g9 I had earlier this year.. but i’m at at 3 feet and feeling the distance
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 48” LG C5 as a 21:9 ->Don't buy the G9 Odyssey whatever you do.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Looking to get a 49' ultrawide, mainly for work ->Panel keeps delaminating from frame. Samsung won't admit its a problem or fix issue.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Looking to get a 49' ultrawide, mainly for work ->I will admit it is a really good price to monitor ratio. Ticks off alot of boxes. 3 year warranty. Amazing screen. But they have sent 3 defective units so far. 1 had a line in the screen and 2 have bezel delaminating problems.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Looking to get a 49' ultrawide, mainly for work ->4 defective units now.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Looking to get a 49' ultrawide, mainly for work ->I use the same in just a single monitor setup. If you actually do proper setup with the screen as close as possible and proper fov, it's way more immersive than it has any right to be and you just might be happy with the single. Regardless, whether single or triple, it's currently way too far away with poor fov. It should be as close to the back of the steering wheel as possible, just above the base, and the center of your eye to the center of the screen. Then use fov calculator and set it accordingly, 1-3 degrees off the calculation is fine but it's pretty accurate and I wouldn't recommend being more than 3 degrees off. https://dinex86.github.io/FOV-Calculator/
r/simracing • Triple monitor advice ->I have seen it on every single Samsung ultra wide model. My g9 has the same problems, my friends g7 does, and my other friends neo g9 has them too. Im sure some people have them and don’t have issues, but I’ve experienced a lot and in looking up solutions online, I see the problems all over.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • TCL unveils 57-inch curved ultrawide gaming monitor featuring 120 Hz, 8K x 2K and 1,200 nits mini-LEDs ->This review just made up my mind for me. Ordered. Thanks!
r/Monitors • the Samsung Odyssey 49" G9 G95SC and my Review ->Got it and love it, but having a bit of trouble running the G9 and a Neo G7 together. I use the G9 for games that support ultra wide but find that when I try to play games on my Neo G7 now it constantly reboots every 30 seconds or so.
r/Monitors • the Samsung Odyssey 49" G9 G95SC and my Review ->The logic I used was that I set my FPS target (~160-200 in iRacing, depending on the track) and figured out what hardware I needed to support triples at 1440p. Since I didn’t have that hardware at the time I went with the G9 which is basically a dual ultra wide setup. The monitor is awesome. I got one off marketplace for $700, it doesn’t disappoint. I since upgraded my GPU to a 5080, it could handle triples in a similar FPS range, but I’m in no rush to upgrade until I can replace with triple OLEDs. I don’t think I could do cheaper triples and take the image quality hit personally.
r/simracing • This monitor vs triples? Need recommendations ->After using the G9 original for years… here’s my input: Get an OLED TV. 42” or 48” You can find LG B5s or C5s on sale right now, and they’re worth it. The issue with ultrawide monitors is while they’re great for fps/sim games, and for video editing, they suck pretty badly for any other type of content. You can’t even split the monitor very well either because of how harsh the curve is. For any content that isn’t compatible with ultrawide formats, you’re basically stuck with a glorified 1440p 27” monitor. And that’s no good. 4K OLED TVs can give you the vertical real estate needed for reading more text, enjoying 16:9 content, and increasing share ability with friends on discord.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buyers remorse OLED G9 —> LG 5k2k instead? ->I love my g9, none of my buds understood until i put them in the chair. 100% conversion rate after. It's so good for work too. Excel cells for daaaaaaaaaayyyyyyssss.......
r/Battlefield6 • Perfect Super Ultrawide support. ->I have a Samsung Odyssey G9. I run a 7800x3d and a 4080S. I love it. I play mostly AAA games; the only new game that didn't support ultra wide has been nightreign.mayeb my specs are a little higher than most which is why I'm able to run things comfortably? I plan on upgrading to a 6090 in a few years and upgrade the CPU as well but will keep the Samsung just for higher FPS but otherwise, I love it.
r/OLED_Gaming • Can't decide 32:9 2k oled or 16:9 2k oled + ips, gonna be using it for productivity, browsing and gaming. ->I have been doing exactly this, never going back. if anyone wanna buy a Samsung odyssey g9 dm me :D
r/VisionPro • Vision Pro instead of a ultra wide monitor ->I guess it depends on the productivity. I have no trouble doing cartography on the Odyssey G9, but I didn’t care for the brief experience of a 1800r curved Dell.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is LG 45in 5k2k worth considering if I don’t get game and just want it for productivity? ->You either go ultrawide 34-40 inch IPS screen (you can go VA in case od Samsung Odyssey G7/g9 but only so) or you go for VR. Nothing beats ultrawide or VR
r/MicrosoftFlightSim • Need recommendations for best monitor setup ->I wouldnt spend too much on OLED unless im absolutely filthy rich. Odyssey G7\G9 VA ultrawide curved is one of the best panels for flight simming. 42 Inch is a bit too much for a monitor imho
r/MicrosoftFlightSim • Need recommendations for best monitor setup ->I have a G9 and I’ll replace it on my gaming computer. It’s an amazing screen for work though. The reason is simple… You have a bigger field of view so you render more things than a 16:9 screen would. Meaning you need a beafier GPU with more VRAM and each frame Takes longer to render than if you were playing the same game on a 16:9 at 4K (instead of 32:9 at 1440). To me, the extra field of view isn’t worth the lost of performance. Oh and don’t let me start with game UI. Game makers that says they support 32:9 and 21:9 screens but still shove their UI in the corners of the screen are liars. Also, cutscenes are almost always choped because it use the width of the screen to center the camera but then we lose the top and bottom part of the image. And there was this hilarious bug in the Mass Effect Trilogy remaster (w/e the name) where the whole post-process pipeline wasn’t supporting ultra wide screens, but the main render did. So the AA and all that was processed on a 16:9 ratio and since I have a 32:9 the meant that both half of my screen had the previous and current frame post-process effect of the middle of the screen. It was unplayable.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Those of you that own a 32:9 monitor, is it really worth it for gaming over a 21:9? ->It is a bit noticeable when the picture switches between light and dark, like looking at shadows in game. It takes some getting used to but once your eyes adjust to it you kinda forget about it. The panel is great otherwise, it’s quite bright and feels responsive. I have recently upgraded to a Samsung odyssey g9, which is an oled panel, but the gigabyte panel can surpass its brightness in full screen. (The oled panel is still brighter in smaller windows though) I still use my gigabyte monitor as a secondary display
r/Indiangamers • Looking for a 21:9 Ultrawide Curved Gaming Monitor with 144Hz at least (under 40k) ->Immersion. When you look at G9, you can see the walls behind. When you look at 45” 5k2k, no walls top and bottom, left and right. The right height and right width, fills your field of view. Total immersion.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What’s with the 5K2K hype? ->G9 odyssey, I can never go back.
r/webdev • What's better, 34 or 38 inch Curved monitor? ->I got the Samsung Odyssey G9 on Black Friday and let me tell you it is so awesome. You have to go PiP mode if you’re gonna play a console game on it but still doing video/animation work on the ultra wide is luxurious as can be
r/macmini • Mac Mini with an ultrawide monitor? ->I played the AR Playtest on my Samsung Odyssey G9 and it was glorious. It was fullscreen, super immersive, only thing I hope they do is allow us to center the interface so that it is not on the borders. https://preview.redd.it/byjyp5nsf32f1.png?width=3000&format=png&auto=webp&s=b64521f9c9f3342166024e3594932998e66d819a
r/ArcRaiders • Ultra-wide or OLED for ARC Raiders? ->Welllll id argue it depends. From a gaming perspective for me, in SOME games there is a benefit to being able to see more to the side. But generally it's just more head moving to see things. That being said....once you get as fancy as something like the g9, you can do dual inputs to split the screen like its 2 27" 2k monitors. Great for work, then I go back to gaming on my single ultra wide input. But I'd say the benefit is really just higher on the work/productivity side over gaming. A lot of games I'm running at pretty much 4k performance but 2k resolution, because of the extra generation. Some games will also be stuck with the black boxes (I personally dont care, seeing the black box on the side of the wall and the rest of my desk I'll actually take the black box. And it's centered vs a dual monitor). I like it, and will prob keep it for the near future. I tried the big 43" 16:9 4k, and it was awesome. But the up and down was killing me. I could do with the ultrawide being juuuust a bit taller but the 43 16:9 was too tall. Tldr: for work/productivity its awesome, for gaming it can be a nice plus, but some games you'll be limited to black boxes on the side, and you will be running more at 4k level of fps and performance rather than the 1440p youre displaying.
r/pcmasterrace • Ultrawide screens yes or no? ->Double wide like the Samsung Odyssey. They're 32:9 so the size of 2 normal monitors. It's like having 2 screens without spaces between them.
r/sales • Ultra wide or multiple monitors ->21:9 I got a 32:9 and I’m regretting it 😭. Going to return it anyway back to Samsung
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I have a 32:9 and I'll never go back. I use it both as two 16:9 screens as well as one 32:9 screen and I love it. It just fills your horizontal view in a very nice way. Especially for racing games, where you can basically look out of your window just by tilting your head a bit. I've been using my Samsung 32:9 screen for 3 years now. Never ever going back. Might actually get a second one down the line with better specs and put my old one above it. Also, as I said, it's really nice as two 16:9 screens. I have my switch 2 connected and I can just play switch and have my pc on the side. It's just incredibly neat. I'm repeating myself here but yeah. Never ever going back. https://preview.redd.it/jnz5595uflpf1.jpeg?width=5120&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bcdd3adbe95fb64390a282ada612f3bf1f4a4242
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ? ->I'm running a Samsung Odyssey 32:9 at 3840x1080, graphics set to ultra. I have a Ryzen 7 3800X cpu with an RX 6750X, and 32 gb of ram. So essentially a 6 year old processor with a 3 year old gpu. I get right at 144 fps consistently in space and about 100-135-ish on foot.
r/EliteDangerous • CMDRs running Ultrawide monitors, what Monitor and Graphics cards do you use? ->I can’t go back from 49’. I bought a MacBook to work when I’m away from my desk but could not gel with the small workspace and so much scrolling…. I started with 34 on the path of Ultrawide with the predator x34 and the all the Samsung odyssey monitors. I look forward to LG’s 5k2k monitor.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is 34" ultrawide.. dying? ->Yeah you'll be fine, I'm running an odyssey and it smashes anything I throw at it. And I think my processor is a little slower than yours. Oh and my gpu too 😂
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ?
->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
