I’d look into a Henry Turbo or Miele Compact C2 Cat & Dog. Maybe even a Sebo K2.

Henry’s have gotten smaller in the last few years. They’re now about the width of a step, if that helps at all. No larger than any of my other suggestions.

Trash all of them, none of those are good vacuums (except the Miele). Also look into the Simplicity Jill, Henry 160 and Sebo K2.

As long as it’s a low pile rug: Henry 160, Miele C1 Pure Suction, Sebo k2 kombi. No wrong answers amongst the 3. You don’t wand cordless/bagless they don’t work well and break prematurely. You’d be lucky to get 2 years from the crap that’s being sold today.

You could get a BIFL level vacuum for a little over budget. Sebo Felix or K3. If not, a Henry Xtra over any shark for sure.

Instead send me $350 and I’ll send you a video of me lighting it on fire. These wet/dry vacs are a marketing gimmick for people to hate money. Avoid at all costs. Buy a decent dry vacuum and a good old mop and bucket. Hard floors throughout the home? No carpet? Miele C1 pure suction or Sebo k2 kombi or Henry 160 will be excellent dry vacuums for hard floors.

Got it! Hard floor only: Miele C1 Pure Suction, Sebo k2 Kombi, Henry 160 Hard floor and carpet: Miele C1 Cat and Dog, Sebo k3, e3, dart or Felix To add: all are excellent. If you have a Miele/Sebo dealer nearby, definitely stop in for a test drive.

Henry has hepaflo bags. Or look at the “clean air” model. And generally speaking all bagless vacuums are terrible (see: your Dyson that broke). Yes you’ll have the reoccurring cost of bags, but the Henry will last you a couple of decades. So you won’t have to waste money buying a whole new unit every few years like you would with a modern bagless. Also the bags henry uses are massive. I’d be shocked if you used more than 2 a year.

I’d urge you to reconsider cordless. Most of them will have this same fate. IMO Get a Henry xtra as your primary vacuum. If you absolutely must have a cordless, Henry quick.

Check out a Miele C1 turbo team, Sebo k2 turbo or Henry xtra. Use the turbo head on your rug. The Miele and Sebo have cord rewind, but the Henry doesn’t. All 3 are excellent options though as long as you don’t plan on having wall to wall carpets or more rugs/thicker pile rugs over the next 20 years or so.

No wrong answers amongst the 3! If you do have a Miele/Sebo dealer nearby, stop in for a test drive. They Henry may be hard to source locally though and will need to be ordered online. The biggest differences are 1) Miele has the shortest cord 2) the Henry has a manual cord rewind, the other two are automatic 3) the Henry’s bag is massive. And yes. The Miele is less expensive because it doesn’t have the electric powerhead (used for wall to wall carpets) which would be totally overkill for you. Those models *start* at $775. I’d also caution ordering from Amazon (specifically for the Miele) look around the sub, there are dozens and dozens of examples of people getting used/broken machines being sold as “new”.

How much is the Numatic Henry 160 in CAN? I know they are pretty cheap in the UK and marked up by 300% in the US.

Too bad. From what I've seen via product reviews, the Numatic Henry 160 seems to be the best "bang for the buck" canister vacuum-wise if you have a mixture of hard floors and low pile carpet/area rugs and have pets. I'm in the US and just got a 160 Xtra for $420 from QVC. I'm hoping that the reviews are proved right once I get it later this week.
