Henry pet because shark was shit
Went the othery. Had a shark, constantly had to clean it, replaced filters etc. Henry is a Joe in comparison.
I had a Henry extra 5 years ago, it was fine. I replaced with a corded shark which has been better suction wise and has lasted 5 years but... I think it depends mainly on how much you want to care for it. For my shark I have the rollers to check, clean the housing, the anti hair wrap which eventually gets hair wrapped around it needs sorting. The dust collector needs washing out, the filter needs changing. Essentially it feels like there is always something than needs doing with it. With a Henry you just buy spare bags and stick them on, oh it's full changed the bag. Other than a quick wipe when he's grubby Henry will just keep going, no maintenance needed.
I'd just get Henry with parquet brush - always a reliable work horse
Is it? Miele is more expensive in Europe, some models go triple the price of Henry
A Henry should be at the top of your list, since it's affordable and manufactured in the UK. You can use variety of parquet brushes and the horsehair ones would be great for LVP. A miele or Sebo would be more expensive and would come with extra bells and whistles such as self retracting cords and better ergonomics, storage. If you need to clean rugs, you can find a turbo attachment. These options will last you 15+ years. If you want something cordless, Dyson fluffy rollers are good for quick pickups and won't hurt the flooring. The V8 absolute package includes a fluffy roller and goes on sale intermittently to be within your budget. Keep in mind while it might be a space saving option and convenient, cordless stick vacuums usually last a couple of years before big problems arise, hence why the main recommendation is for bagged, plug in vacuums.
What pile are the area rugs and how big? A turbo team is never a bad idea with rugs. But the pure suction is on a great sale right now. You can always add the turbo head later if you want better cleaning performance on rugs. A Sebo k2 kombi or k2 turbo is also worth looking at. Same with a Henry 160 or xtra
You’re in the UK, get a Henry Xtra or Sebo Felix or K3. All of these are MILES better.
All wood floor - if the stairs are a low pile runner, you can do a Miele C1 turbo team, Sebo k2 turbo or Henry extra. If the stairs are anything other than low pile you may want to look at a Miele C1 cat and dog. With all that dog hair this might be the way to go tbh.

For all hard floors and hair, you want a vacuum without a brushroll. Check out the Miele C1 pure suction, Sebo K2 kombi or Henry 160. And if you find it’s not working well on your carpet/rug you can always add the turbo head.
> I’ve been burned before by convenient gadgets You hit the nail on the head here - more often than not, when the main selling point is “convenience” you sacrifice a lot elsewhere. If you absolutely must have a cordless vac, I’d get a Henry Quick for quick daily messes. I’d also look at a Henry 160 for weekly deep cleans. It’s going to filter a lot better than the shop vac you’ve been using. (Assuming you have hard floors) if you have carpet check out a Sebo k3 or e3.
Nice work! But imo the Logic is somewhat flawed. It entirely depends on the user’s flooring. I think that needs to be an important quantifier here. Ex: No doubt Henry is great. But it’s for hard floors and maybe 1 small low pile area rug, absolutely not carpeted rooms. It has an air driven brushroll which pales in comparison on carpet to something with an electorally powered floor head. Like the Miele c3 cat and dog, Sebo Felix, k3 and D4 etc. Dyson and shark shouldn’t even be on this list. They are absolute junk. Run this list by r/vacuumcleaners Edit: Hey! I see I was part of the data collection. Neat.
Miele, Sebo, Henry, Lindhaus. Shark and Dyson are garbage. Check out r/vacuumcleaners
I’d get a Henry to be honest.
There's a reason why lots of stores and offices have Henry's They can suck for England and don't complain when they bounce down the stairs.
Henry. Probably the best Vacuum you will get. There is a reason they are used in stores and offices.
change the bag, clean the pipe for blockages Mine is nearly 10 years old and still going as good as the day I got it.
Numatic Henry 160, Miele Classic C1, Sebo Airbelt K2 Kombi. An electric brush head on the Sebo doesn’t seem necessary for you tbh, I think you’d like any of these.
Man, when did Henry’s shoot up in price *so much*? We bought ours in ~2023 for $320. I can’t seem to find any under $500 in the US. I remember [this](https://evacuumstore.com/products/numatic-henry-200-canister-vacuum) site had it for $350 when we were going to buy one
Hey same here! Our Ryobi supplements the Henry 200 and my wife loves to use it because of the floor head LED, hah. Most of my tools are Dewalt but the Ryobi was a great deal at the time (came with 3 batteries) and it’s also nice to be able to buy the random Ryobi tool you may need in the future. I’ve bought two fans so far. If I could somehow modify it to use bags, it would be an S tier stick. How people somehow prefer bagless is beyond me.
Haha, honestly we love ours. Our main vacuum is a Henry 200 which is an absolute beast, but my wife wanted something for quick pickups (and an LED indicator) Sounds stupid, but honestly the best vacuum is going to be one the individual wants to use Typically more of a Dewalt guy, but the Ryobi vacuum came with two 5ah batteries and a 2ah for a hell of a deal. Also, Ryobi is great for that “odd” tool Dewalt doesn’t have (or just has it overpriced)
