I’ve kind of been doing something similar. I’ve got a portable gaming monitor but it’s in the form factor of a briefcase (screen sits on one side of the case, console/Steam Deck on the other) so I literally just close it up and off I go.   It’s been really great for travel.

Nah it’s called the [GAEMS sentinel Pro XP](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sentinel-Portable-PlayStation-Consoles-Included/dp/B07L9BZDQS). It was originally designed for the PS4 but you can hook up anything to it really so I just repurpose it for the Steam Deck sometimes.  It’s capped at 1080p (though I think there’s a 1440p version) but I don’t it at all, it’s been a blast to travel wild and use as a gaming station.
