49" Odyssey QD-OLED G9 (G95SD) Dual QHD 240Hz 0.03ms G-Sync Compatible Curved Gaming Monitor with Glare Free and Smart Features

So I’ve used a lot of these monitors and I’ll give my two cents. If you are all about productivity. The Samsung is great for that, but if you’re going to game on it, you need a beefy rig and lots of space. I also find that it’s extremely buggy with HDR, so if that matters, buyer beware. The curve is good on that monitor, but it’s also super super long, the edges will require you to turn your heard. I just got the LG5k2k last night and honestly I love it. The curve is great, but I would say for productivity it might lose out to the Samsung. For gaming it’s great though. 240hz is vastly overrated unless you are top end competitive gaming, but I can’t really tell the difference between 165hz to 240hz. You can always wait, but also depending on where you live tariffs might be a consideration on waiting. That’s why I bought when I did.

Yep, this is possible. I do have a 2nd monitor on top of my g95sd which i use for discord and amd adrenalin combo and a xeneon edge below the g95sd for web browser as I like to play my games in full screen/borderless.

In my main rig I have a 32:9 primary (g95sd) and a 16:9 secondary (u27g4xm). In my other setup, i have a 21:9 (xiaomi ultrawide) primary and a 16:9 secondary (lappie monitor). I have to give it to the 32:9 for immersion. Colour and contrast pop. Motion is smooth and fluid. It just cant be beat. But you may need a capable gpu for this. With the 21:9, i find that you have to sit much closer to it to get the same level of immersion. But it's overall more practical in terms of desk space. Also much easier to drive (gpu-wise) than a 32:9. Id say this is the jack of all trades. As for my 16:9, its just not immersive at all. Although I do appreciate it for being compact. I have to hand it to the u27g4xm though, its nearing oled performance being an ips mini led. But thats for another topic.

I would recommend the Samsung G9. I bought one last November and it's been serving me well as I deal with a ton of spreadsheets. Goes without saying that gaming on it is amazing. BUT, if you will be working with a lot of static pages, I would otherwise suggest the 52" Neo which is a Mini LED version of the 49" G9 to avoid any burn-in anxiety. It's for this reason that I put a 2nd Mini LED monitor on top of my G9. Anything static i need reference to lives on that monitor.

I wend from a 34" ultrawide to a 49" g9 and i really love it. That said though, oled is not the best for productivity due to burn-in risks. For this reason, I added a 27" ips mini led on top of it. I mainly deal with lengthy excel sheets so i can really appreciate the extra wideness of the 49". To further reduce the risk of burn in though, I use the 2nd monitor for anything static i need referencing to such as static excel sheets, emails, websites, spotify, etc. If you have a lot of static windows in your workflow, i would suggest the 57" g9 neo which is a mini led version of the g9, albeit a bit bigger.

The curve is a bit much for me and I prefer the format of the G9. Looks great, though! Congratulations on your new monitor, dude!

Right now I'm using a 49 inch + 27 inch in pivot mode. Both 249hz QD-Oled. My next step is getting another 49 inch and 27 inch. So I have two 27 inch in pivot mode. One far right and one far left. In the middle I want to stack two 49 inches. Get the secret lab Magnus Pro XL. You can mount your desktop and stack 2 49ers in the middle and two 27 on each side. This is the way

I got cupons for 49" g95sd oled 2024 smart one, not regretted it, infact I cannot go back to miniled (had 49 neo g9 mini led before), oed gang was right, but, I would be lying if I said I wasn't wishing for a 57" oled variant ofc. Actually, lowkey want a 48:9, maybe with proper micro led with rgb if not oled, but that's a long way into the future ofc...🤣

Thanks for all the congratulations. This thing is glorious. I’ve never owned a smart monitor and that this thing has so many options via smartphone control and built in apps is insane. Dead by Daylight runs at 240hz and 120fps using my setup. It is so choice. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend you picking one up.

I don't quite get the gaming only comments - it's a monitor with a resolution of 5120x1440 that also happens to run at 240hz, Super recommended for gaming AND general use.

It's so honking huge I don't even see the curve to be honest.

great review. i also tried WOLED and 45" 21:9 800R, but until now nothing beats the G9 OLED for me. i love the curve, picture quality of QD-OLED and also 240hz is a must-have. we are sitting in the same boat and have to wait for a Samsung 57" dual4k OLED version i guess. btw, the first picture is why i just love 32:9... you just see so much more of the game and sceneries are so damn beautiful. only downside is compatibility and having to tinker around to get games to run in that aspect ratio.

i tried a 27" 16:9 OLED, 45" 21:9 1440p OLED, 45" 21:9 5k OLED and the 49" G9 32:9 OLED... for me nothing beats the G9. the immersion in games is just on another level. the only upgrade i could think of would be a 57" G9 dual4k OLED, but that doesnt exist yet.

G9 is still the most sold 32:9 monitor, but i wouldnt call it the king. there is too much personal preference when it comes to monitors to even crown any monitor the best. there are a lot of people who really dislike 32:9 and also many, like myself, that really dislike 800r curve. than there is WOLED vs QD-OLED and Matt vs glossy. its a whole religion already and guys will debate for hours and hours only to agree to disagreeing. for me, i tried matt WOLED for a few months, switched to glossy QD-OLED and couldnt be happier. every single little thing that bothered me just disappeared. but that doesnt mean its the same for everyone else.

a few weeks and after getting the G9 i tried it again at my friends place. he also has the 45” one. just couldnt get used to it and now im more than happy with my current monitor.
