I just bought the same monitor today...will end up returning it as eBay had a better deal with the 95SC...Don't need the TV crap and it ended up being \~$400 cheaper (with warranty)
**1. How do you currently use your split-screen setup? (e.g., triple monitors, 32:9 with FancyZones, etc.)** I currently use a Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 G93SC mounted on an Ergotron monitor arm, partitioned using Microsoft PowerToys FancyZones. My typical layout is three zones: * Discord * Game of choice (Diablo II, WoW, RDR, or Microsoft Flight Simulator) * Web browser or utility window Occasionally I also use Picture-in-Picture to run my work laptop alongside my personal desktop, allowing me to stay connected to work communications while using my primary PC. For productivity, I often switch inputs and use the full 32:9 canvas for spreadsheets, documents, and development work. I’ve previously run a triple-monitor setup, but I ultimately found the bezels and physical footprint cumbersome compared to a single ultrawide display. I’m very interested in testing how a 52” display with additional vertical resolution improves both productivity workflows and immersive gaming. My system is powered by an RTX 4090, so I have the GPU capability to fully drive the display. Since I’m already using a 49” 32:9 OLED daily, I’d also be able to provide a direct comparison between 32:9 and the larger 21:9 5K2K format. **2. What is the advantage you expect from moving to a 52” 5K2K display?** The biggest advantage I expect is the extra vertical workspace and being able to keep more things open at the same time. For productivity, I often run several applications simultaneously while working remotely. A larger 5K2K canvas would allow me to comfortably display: * Two large Excel spreadsheets side-by-side * Microsoft Teams chat * Teams meetings * Email * Word documents * Chrome The added vertical space is especially important, as that is currently the biggest constraint with ultrawide monitors when working with spreadsheets or documents. On the gaming side, the extra real estate would allow flexible layouts such as: * Game window + Discord * Chrome or guides * Email or background applications For immersive titles like Microsoft Flight Simulator, Red Dead Redemption, or RDR2, I’m also excited to test the display in full screen mode to see how immersive it feels. If selected, I would immediately integrate the monitor into my work, school, and gaming setup and document my experience focusing on: * Vertical productivity improvements * Multitasking workflows * Gaming immersion * Real-world FancyZones layouts I would provide an honest review along with photos of my setup and workflow examples on Reddit.
I have a super ultrawide which is the 32:9 version and play in windowed mode at a 16:9 aspect ratio (Link to monitor: [amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CDQMQQS2)). I have found that gaming on an ultrawide isn't always the greatest. You often have to wait for ultrawide support or have to download a patch to remove the letterboxing. I will say though that when it works it works incredibly well. So only get one if you're fine running ffxiv in windowed mode (and a lot of other games) and then having the occasional life changing moment of playing something in full ultrawide that truly "gets it" like I had with helldivers 2.
My guy, I have bought and returned this monitor probably 5 times now. 😂🤣. I know what you mean! There’s just nothing else on the market like it. If it were to be glossy, the curve would have to drastically be lessened. I had bought the AW3225QF, got it home, set it up, went to push a firmware update and it wouldn’t recognize my monitor was plugged in when using the upstream cable. I called tech support and had them remote in, couldn’t get it. It was way too much hassle for a 1st day experience. Went back the next day. Lol.
The clean factor is definitely overlooked when pertaining to matte/glossy. It is a lot easier to clean with less potential of scratches. I would agree with you on the Samsung colors. They pop! I had the G95SC myself. I was almost ready to return the gx9 and keep the Samsung, to be honest. I felt the colors and gloss finish made up for lack of resolution (4K).
I really enjoyed the G95SC, I was almost compelled to keep it over the gx9.
So I’ve used a lot of these monitors and I’ll give my two cents. If you are all about productivity. The Samsung is great for that, but if you’re going to game on it, you need a beefy rig and lots of space. I also find that it’s extremely buggy with HDR, so if that matters, buyer beware. The curve is good on that monitor, but it’s also super super long, the edges will require you to turn your heard. I just got the LG5k2k last night and honestly I love it. The curve is great, but I would say for productivity it might lose out to the Samsung. For gaming it’s great though. 240hz is vastly overrated unless you are top end competitive gaming, but I can’t really tell the difference between 165hz to 240hz. You can always wait, but also depending on where you live tariffs might be a consideration on waiting. That’s why I bought when I did.
Yes, I have it. Just bought it like few weeks ago. Work great with no issue. You can get the monitor for cheap at Costco for $600 thou
yup G91SD, 5120x1440 resolution OLED 144hz
i have g95sc oled, but its height is what ruins gaming experience. 21:9 seems to be better ratio. (32:9 is killer for work)
