My roommates and I recently went with the Ninja 6-in-1 since we cook together a lot and it's been great. I'm a sucker for a simple UX/not overcomplicating things when it comes to kitchen stuff and it seemed like one of the better options on that front. Also have a ninja blender so I know they make decent stuff. Would recommend to just go with the one that fits your intended use. You don't want to get a big bulky one that will stick out on your counter if you don't need to.

So I have two air fryers. Both are ninjas. One is single and one is dual. I do agree the single is better. It's really convenient to have three air fryers when making something like air fryer chicken, roasted veggies & fresh french fries. I can make all three at the same time and eat at the same time. Super convenient. Also if making wontons and spring rolls. I have a pretty busy job, a young child & a husband who doesn't cook. So for me worth it to have all. I also have enough space in my kitchen.

Given all the research you’ve already done, you’ve probably seen that giant comparison database of air fryers floating around Reddit [here, I bookmarked it](https://www.reddit.com/u/MaterialisticOcelot/s/AuYboNaNB6). It’s super handy if you want to line up the details down to the very last spec. I personally have the Ninja Foodi and really like it, but I wouldn’t really consider it a “budget” pick since it runs close to $200. That said, I do think you get what you pay for with these. I’d be careful about going under $50 on an appliance you expect to last.

Yup I did a post on mine several months ago. Definitely takes more time when cooking with both sides and it can be hard to figure out timing. I wish I stuck with my single one.

I just mean in the sense that it cooks a lot slower using both sides vs one so have to figure out timing for stuff to be done. It isn't the usual times I would set when using just one side. Apparently this is an issue in the US due to voltage from what I was told numerous times on my last post. Just wish I knew before I got it. If you're in the US and this one takes just as long when you use both sides, you're lucky I guess. 🤷‍♀️ i have much longer cook times using both sides than I do with one, or with my one basket ninja I used to have.

It's not about the cooking method. Brining/marinading + making sure they are flat and more or less equal in thickness + taking it out at the right internal temperature is the key. I know double stack ninja model has a built in thermometer for monitoring food temp, but you can buy one separately. It will level up your chicken breasts.

Foodi pressure cooks just fine Depends. Any device with "air fry" mode is going to be a compromise compared to a real air fryer. Personally I find the Foodi's two lid system to be clunky and annoying to deal with. I pretty much just use my convection oven instead of the foodi. I use a stovetop pressure cooker myself. But I definitely wouldn't recommend the foodi for mainly pressure cooking because the air fryer lid is permanently attached. So that would be pretty much always in the way.

I bought a toaster oven (specifically the Ninja- if you have a Costco near you, they often go on sale) with an air fryer function. More expensive than an air fryer, but I’m also not a fan of one-use appliances. And yes, stuff cooked on air fryer mode ends up crispier. I would caution that if you are celiac or in any way sensitive to cc, air fryer needs to be gluten free ONLY

I have a ninja dual air fryer. It cooks great when making different things. The annoying part is the smaller baskets. My old air fryer I could put an entire package of chicken breast in it but this one I have to divide the chicken up between both baskets. The nice part is I can do chicken in one and fries in the other. If I had to do it all over again I would have gotten one with one basket.

I tried that one and didn't like it. Baskets are small and it's less efficient when using both baskets. I went with an Instant Dual Vortex instead, the two baskets are much bigger and running both baskets at the same time does not reduce its efficiency. I love it and use it for almost every meal I cook at home, and I think the dual basket makes it much more useful because I can cook my entree and side dish at the same time.

Yes! I have the same one and it’s honestly been such a game changer - poke some holes in a potato and toss it in the microwave for 7 minutes then roll in a little oil and salt then 8 minutes in the air fryer (flip halfway) and it’s better than a restaurant baked potato. Frozen veggies? Toss them in the air fryer. Baked chicken thighs? Into the air fryer they go. I love the ninja because it’s the toaster oven shape (as well as being a toster oven) my sister has a non-ninja “bowl” type and I specifically got mine because I knew I would never use the other kind. I’m getting ready to upgrade to a larger ninja that can fit a whole roast chicken and I’m more excited than I thought I would be 😂

I have the ninja flip, from what I’ve pieced together from mine would be turning the fan on/off (air frying vs baking), broiling (only turns top heating element on), and dehydrating (low temp and maybe fan for a long time). I think toasting might turn top and bottom heating elements on at the same as well, ultimately just leaving it on air fry would realistically do all of it but selecting those individually might be slightly more efficient

I like the one I have cause it's not the traditional basket type air fryer. It's more like an oven + air fryer so you can put stuff in you can't put in the other kind. Plus you can bake, broil, etc. The whole thing is metal and the baking tray is high carbon steel. I plan to get a bigger model later this year.

I live in Canada so I have this specific model. I got this cause it's more compact and longer and wider than it is taller. Now I'm getting it's bigger brother. Its big enough that I can make a whole pizza in this. It has a tray for baking and a basket for frying. There are more models like this like the kalorik. I often see Chinese made ones with a stamp of a big brand so I know for sure there are many like this. You can also find models that combine a microwave too. My old microwave in India had a convection oven feature. An air fryer is nothing more than a convection oven (an oven with a fan inside it) so it doesn't need to be as complicated as it is. Cheap models without touch controls and dials work the exact same inside as ones with physical controls and dials. And they've existed since forever but now you see them being labeled as an air fryer instead of a convection oven. https://www.ninjakitchen.ca/products/ninja-foodi-8-in-1-digital-air-fry-oven-zidSP101C?recrawl=2024-05-14-09-05&recrawl=2024-05-14-09-05&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22715945478&gbraid=0AAAAAoVfVHWudc7TsnbMH4HYwt7PwHsQ_&gclid=Cj0KCQjwn8XFBhCxARIsAMyH8BtPW87p7Na5LjjRD-6EBBJASEb-uHp6OfFlEzxxY3Liy8BUo82fVbgaArK9EALw_wcB

I have one of these. Fantastic air fryer, 9/10. Two key points: A: It cooks a little slower than many other models - if instructions say cook for 10 min at 350, it will be 12-13. B: The "flip" thing is really a gimmick, at least for me. It doesn't save very much counter space at all, so it just stays in the regular position. The trays / pans / etc can sit on top because the heat from the machine wont hurt them. Overall, however, an excellent buy at full price, even better discounted, and if getting it from CostCo, there is a great return policy if for some reason it breaks.

the question is what ypi are after,. most air fryers do work and from my experience mechanicals have a tendency to do better in certain things, here are a few I have, I have at least 4 brands in my home and would be doing a test soon of them: [Philips](https://s.shopee.ph/6psbzlCuSe): probably easiest to use in the mechanical setting, it has a button to remove the tray so you wont get burned, takes a abit of time to preheat, i alwatys wait 5 minutes para umabot ng temp, everything is manual, can handle a lot of things but due to it being manual, you have to do the calculations yourself. very easy to clean, good enough size that you can place anything inside, temp is adequate. trays easily removed. all in all, this one has lasted the longest. [Instant pot](https://s.shopee.ph/1qTw2Y1H7v): if you want something to remove the guesses, this is the one, daming kayang gawin, ive done sundried tomatoes, meals, whole chicken, this thing will tell you when preheating is done, it will tell you to switch the chicken upside down, it will tell you halos lahat, timer is good, malakas yn tunog to tell you you have to do this or that. ito naman cons nya, number 1, yn tray you need to remove it directly, di tulad ng iba. ano con is that rubber yn sa gilid nya pero parang tunog nagscratch pagninilgay mo pero overall its a master of all. [midea](https://s.shopee.ph/5q04noOHtg): mechanical as well quite cute, the temp controls are just dials, handles well, first time used had plastic smell, removed aftgter 2 times use, easy cleaning not digital, so you need to wait for preheating, i do 5 minutes, descent size not great [ninja foodi](https://s.shopee.ph/7V8In0Rlyt): probably the one one that can do grilling properly but dang it is expensive, lots of removable parts and good quality, takes a bit os space though, does grilling and airfrying well pero not that much sa iba, expensive affiliate link posted with pictures of the units. i have more air fryers at home. https://preview.redd.it/7y8mbik0g4zf1.png?width=3099&format=png&auto=webp&s=981d61c6389d836deddc9c2b09e6a78c9134175c

Not any good as an air fryer. Basket air fryers are the only good ones for air frying. And they can do other stuff pretty well. Toaster ovens are pretty good at being toaster ovens and truly awful at being an air fryer. Anytime I hear someone complaining about their "air fryer" it's one of the toaster oven ones. Putting a fan in it doesn't make it an air fryer. The main issue (which is absolutely critical imo) is that they never have room to cook things that are tall. Whole wings, chicken legs, skin in thighs, etc. will never work properly. Additionally they often have the burner on the bottom, which means there is a drip tray, which causes all kinds of inconveniences and makes it significantly harder to get stuff crispy. If you can find one where the burner is coupled directly with the fan (i hear they exist) then that'd be your best bet. That Ninja counter folding one is an amazing toaster oven. It is literally the worst air fryer. People who love it either use it as a toaster oven or have no idea what a real air fryer is like. My girlfriend's family raves about it, but it can't make whole wings... So instant fail imo.

I was cynical that I would get the use out of it, well it turns out I use it everyday and my cooker is redundant. I've got the dual ninja one so you can cook two things at once. It fits a medium whole chicken, is great for stir fries and I do pasta bakes straight in the drawer.

Ninja foodi is my holy grail. I’ve had it for 5 years. I do everything with it. I couldn’t recommend a better one. Super plus is you can remove the cooking basket and wash it. It’s not connected to plastic. Easy to clean. Lots of function. Pressure cooking, baking, dehydrating, slow cooker, air fryer. List goes on.

We have a ninja foodie, that I can’t use anymore. It’s mostly used for fries and chicken nuggets. We used to cook bacon in it and it was delicious. I am going to buy myself a small air fryer for fries and chicken nuggets. I like crispy nuggets and they do not get crispy in the oven. I really wanted a small ninja foodie but they don’t make them anymore.

Mine works great! I have to lower a lot of my temps or reduce cooking time comparatively to my oven, so 400 is more than enough for everything I’ve done. I like that I can have two completely separate temperatures going in each side for different cooking needs. I generally am only cooking for myself, and it works great for my needs! Won it from work for free too, so it’s even better!

I like the Instant Pot much better. I got a Foodi as well, but am trying to resell it as I don't think it's as nice or useful. Plus the materials aren't as quality. The pressure cook option in my Foodi sometimes doesn't work whereas my 3 IPs always do and are really easy to clean. The Foodi has the Air Crisp option which is pretty nice, but not worth it for the sheer size of the Foodi. It's a beast and very heavy.

Yeah this is the same reason I don't really use my Foodi. It's also very loud whereas my Instant Pot (I happen to have 3) are quiet as a mouse. For pressure cooking alone the Instant Pot brand beats Ninja out imo. I prefer the basic IP models, as they are really good at what they do, alas the Ninja does more. I like the air crisp option on my Foodi but I'm not sure that alone is worth it. Bacon and burgers are really good in it after pressure cooking but chicken is gross on that one I learned. Ninja just doesn't excel to me in pressure cooking as it sometimes doesn't come to pressure at all. I'm actually trying to sell mine after only using it a few times.

I’ve had a Ninja Foodi for years. Usually more than £100 but think you can get manufacturer refurbs off of eBay for close to that price. It’s more than just an air fryer. It also has pressure cooker, sauté, roast, dehydrate as well as other functions I don’t use. Best use for me is for sausages, can get up in the morning, chuck them in there for 13 minutes and they’re done without having to tend to them. Also use the pressure cooker for curries, and you can brown the meat in there first before switching to pressure. Mrs even used it to dehydrate orange slices to make her own Christmas wreathes. We wouldn’t be without it.

I've never used a combo microwave/air fryer, but because of how different the components for microwave cooking and air frying are I'd be wary. I'd get a standalone microwave and a good combo toaster oven/air fryer for your counter. I have [this one](https://www.ninjakitchen.com/products/ninja-flip-toaster-oven-air-fryer-zidSP151) from Ninja and love it. Makes bagels super fast, works as a pizza oven, great air fryer, and flips up when not in use to give me back some of my limited counter space.

Ninja Foodi... the one that flips up. Takes 1/2 a sheet pan and holds a normal frozen Pizza. I am on my 2nd one, use it every day... Any time you just want to make 1 frozen meal, or fries/tots, etc. it is used. Whenever you don't want to heat up the big oven, it is used... Best low $ appliance I have IMHO... I use mine as a salamander and toaster oven as well... 1/2 sheet pan meals are enough for 3 easily btw... The ones with the plastic containers are stupid IMHO... It cooks very evenly, I don't need to mess with my food much while it's in there, and the toast/oven/keep warm functions are surprisingly useful.

I have the Ninja Digital 8-in-1 and it changed my life! It can do everything a basket friar does and more. Generally it cooks anything an oven can cook about 30% faster than the box time too. It's pretty big but you can lose the toaster if you have one since it does that as well. It comes with a basket that's kind of a bitch to clean but you can use your own quarter baking sheets with a wire rack if you like. The only 3 complaints I have is one, the size. Thankfully it's on a swivel and can be positioned vertically. Two, the inside is impossible to clean well. And three, it can get pretty loud when you're air frying at high tempatures for a long period of time.

Depends how lazy I am. I usually use my own pan and clean it with every use. You can use little tiny pans to make it easier if it's a small item. I don't clean the basket piece as much as I should. It has some really baked on char on some parts that's not really worth the fuss. The actual inside has sheet on the bottom that collects crumbs I'll pull out every few months. The walls are the part I'm mostly talking about. I think it's inevitable it will be dirty with baked on oil/grease. Long story short you're not actually cleaning it with every use but you should clean the pan you're using. No matter what I would choose this air fryer over a basket fryer in every scenerio. Reheated pizza to fresh in 3 minutes and being able to make +12 crispy Buffalo wings will wing any argument!

It’s amazing honestly I love it it has so many options, 2 racks, a light, half way turnover timer, tons of cooking options such as baking, roasting, broiling etc. it also doesn’t have PUFAS/ PFAS or whatever all that stuff everyone is concerned about. The top rack also doubles as a cooling rack. It’s a bit of a pain to clean but that’s the same thing with most air fryers since they need ventilation holes in the surfaces to effectively circulate the hot air. The window is nice to be able to see your food. It’s a pretty nice size, enough to put enough food for 2 adults and 2 kids. It also comes with a cool little laminated air frying guide that shows about 60 different foods and how long to cook them for, what temp etc. it’s definately better than your typical chef man and lower end fryers priced at this range but if you’re looking for something a bit nicer around $120 I recommend the ninja foodie.

Replaced with a Ninja dual one which is at least looks and feels like it was made in a factory run by people with some self respect (coating appears solid and not like it was sprayed on with a can of spray paint). Still thinking about going all SS though if a good option turns up. The UB looks a bit odd, I worry the rotating mechanism could be a failure point and sometimes I really don't want things to rotate and fall over (like cooking a delicate slab of fish).

I have a very small apartment and limited space so I wanted something that could do multiple things and help me not have to turn on the oven, especially in the summer. I don’t do a lot of traditional air fry food but the bake, broil, pizza, and toast get used regularly. Everything comes out quickly and just as good as the oven. I even use it to bake cookies. Ive had a double basket ninja foodi and still have a ninja 10 in 1. The crispi makes great chicken wings, fajitas, and does all the normal air frying better than any of those others in my opinion. It definitely gets everything crispier.

I just got the double stack from ninja.. I don't have a lot of countertop space in my NYC apartment but this one fits nicely and works great! I love that each basket/drawer comes with a separate rack that sits half way in the basket making 4 areas to cook on. the top rack in each drawer is the "crispier" foods rack

This is exactly why I just switched to getting the double stack.. each basket has a wire rack to basically make 4 cooking surfaces, too. (2 per drawer/basket - top rack being more crispy foods) Its pretty ideal

I have a Ninja too. I think its DT201. Got a great price like 3 years ago when it was on sale at Kohls and they used to accept coupons for named brands I think they only come with one basket. I have the smaller version that can flip up to save counter space when not used. I would not want a basket type because I like to use mine as a mini oven. Having eaten food from a basket style, the basket does do better at air frying. But I don't have a lot of space for all the appliances. I do use it as an oven more than air fry

I like the flip part of it myself. I don't use it every day, maybe 1 to 3 times a week. I use it as a toaster, air fryer, and a mini oven. I don't have enough countertop space for all these items separately. It replaced a much older mini convection oven that I had for like 10+ years. It is a compromise appliance.

If you’re in North America, there are air fryers that purport to run multiple baskets at the same time (ie: Ninja Dual). Our home power supply will not run both baskets at the same time at full heat; the user’s guide says you have to allow almost double the time if you want to use both baskets at once as the temperature won’t reach full heat. Evidently they do work at full speed in the UK. That being said… I also have a Ninja Foodi multicooker that does the whole slow cooker/pressure cooker/ air fryer thing in one unit. I’ve had four or five air fryers and that’s the one I’ve used the most because the multiple functions are useful for me. For just a dedicated air fryer, make sure it has enough physical space to cook the amount and kind of food you want. For example, french fries are best cooked in one layer. Many air fryers are not sized to cook enough fries to feed four people. Whichever air fryer you choose, you’ll need to peek in and toss/shake/shift your food two or three times during the cooking to get everything to cook evenly, so ensure it’s a convenient size, weight etc.

I got the Ninja Foodi air fryer oven that flips up. It's not the largest, but it is pretty versatile. Air frying is so-so.  The cooking times for the oven are about the same as my standard oven, but preheating is a fraction of the time, which I like. Sheet pan meals are a snap. Keeping it clean is an issue. I am religious about cleaning it, but there is only so much I can do, especially the heating elements. My experience with Gourmia is they were substandard. The best one I've used so far is the Typhur Dome (currently on sale USD300 on Amazon.com). It produces the best results but its basket height limit of just over 2" is the biggest drawback. I have had a Ninja SP201 for three years and have had no problem with the glass. I will say that I just bought a small basket-type air fryer because I find that the air fryer function on the Ninja is not really as good as a basket-type model, and I really find myself using it more as an oven and broiler. The max temp on it is 450° for all functions, so I don’t think there is a temperature difference in the way I use it, and I basically use it in place of my actual oven, so it get a lot of use. I just make sure it has totally cooled before flipping it up.

Having used both (i transitioned from a basket style to an oven style), the optimal use case varies wildly. My current air fryer in an oven style Ninja 10-in-1 XL Pro. Pros for basket style: Quick meals that need little prep. More accessories you can buy (e.g. silicone mats). Good for 2-3 people at max per usage. Takes less time to preheat due to smaller volume. generates less heat. Smaller table footprint vs oven-style. From my personal knowledge, basket styles cook a little hotter than what's actually programmed. Downsides for basket style: Harder to clean - more nooks and crannies to reach. Also material is usually a very thin metal coated in nonstick surface. Uses less electricity per meal vs an oven type BUT cooks in smaller portions. Cannot cook larger things like whole chicken. Pros for oven style: Trays/racks are much easier to clean. Can cook larger things like a very small turkey. Uses more electricity per operation due to bigger volume, but this can be a blessing if you utilize this to food prep for the rest of the week. It also features a ton of other features compared to a standalone basket air fryer. Easily cooks for a family of 4-5. Amazing for friends gatherings and small parties. Downsides for oven-style: Huge footprint on the table. You can use it to cook a one-person meal but feels like a waste. Takes slightly longer to pre-heat.

I’ve never had any problems with any of my Ninja products (bullet, double stack XL, or slushi), but I will say that their instructions are more detailed than most, plus obviously they are more expensive, but I think that has to do a lot with product reputation.  The only thing I don’t like about the double stack is that the top rack is so narrow. After finding[ this thread on Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/user/No-Competition-5766/comments/1i5jdq2/air_fryer_models_comparison_spreadsheet/) and comparing the different Ninja models, I think that the Foodi might be a better fit for me. Did you ever end up buying a different air fryer? I know plenty of people who have gone from a basket style to a toaster oven style, but not the other way around because they’d lose so many features. I recently upgraded from a basket style to a Ninja toaster oven model (I used this fantastic [brand and model database](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Y4PR6GCz-Lk5mWX1LUzo-3kChRBv302vSv5HZFB5K1c/edit) to help narrow things down). I had a Ninja Foodi, loved it and the surface area you have with it, it was great for reheating pizza. It doesn't crisp up the food quite as well as the basket style ones, but good enough. The fan on mine got clogged with grease after a month or two, and it is essentially impossible to clean. I cleaned it up as well as I could and used it another couple years, now I have a Dreo and the Foodi lives in the pantry until I need to reheat pizza. The Dreo is excellent. 10/10 as an air fryer, and the smart probe cooking actually works great, except I think mine had a software problem that would turn a 45 minute cook into 3 hours at random. A warranty replacement comes soon. The original works perfectly as a basic air fryer, so I'll give it to a friend. Ninja conventional air fryers I rate 1/10. I do not understand how they can not have a window so you know when the food is ready. We have one in our office kitchen, and unless you open it constantly, it is a total gamble how your food comes out. I have had a couple items that I followed the packaging directions and they came out burnt black and smoking. It's too bad because when you get the timing right, the Ninja does a nice job, just as good as the Dreo and better than the Foodi. Also, I don't understand why they have to preheat for longer than it takes to cool the food. An item that I know takes 4 minutes at 400 in my Dreo takes 4 minutes at 400 in the Ninja, but the Dreo requires no preheating and the Ninja needs a few minutes of preheating time. If the food comes out the same from both air fryers, why is the Ninja taking all that preheating time?

The [Breville](https://amzn.to/4linlKH) is absolutely amazing. The difference between the breville and other air fryer is the consistency of temperature (kind of like a weber grill vs a charbroil). When you set 350, you get 350. The one downside: the breville often has this high pitched electronic noise when off, but plugged in. You have to be within a few feet to notice it. Unfortunately, I notice it a lot, so generally unplug it. Second what other commentor said - when Teflon hits 475, it starts off-gassing toxic fumes. You do not want that. Have also had the [ninja flippy one](https://amzn.to/4kwvtpN) and while it runs slightly hot (just cause elements are so close to the food), it is one of the only air fryer that has a completely stainless interior. So if toxic-ness is a concern, check that out.

Never had basket style. Ninja SP101 for past 3 years, Cuisinart before that.  Use it 80%, regular oven 20%.  Makes great toast, and air frys even better.  Takes less than 30 seconds to preheat. You can see what you're cooking, so easy not to burn something. 13"x13" of space (pizza!)  Can open front and bottom, easy to clean.  Thinking upgrading to the double 201.

I like my Ninja Foodi (SP101) toaster oven.  Seems more practical.  It's about 8 quarts.

I recently bought the Cosori Pro 2 and it completely blew my ninjas out of the water. I had a Ninja Foodi and the Ninja AF101 and Dual Zone (endless cycles of upgrading and gifting to friends who didnt have an air fryer). Got a Cosori as an extra air fryer. It was $48 on clearance at walmart due to the red color not being very popular. The Cosori performs better than the Ninja in a very key aspect, the removable basket design. Since the sides are also detachable from the overall basket, they can add vents to the side of the basket. This allows the circulation of air to the underside even if the basket is completely full. Ninja's removable plate design would always result in a soggy underside if I overfilled due to the air being unable to circulate. In a scenario where both are half empty, they perform the same - slight edge to the Ninja. The removable basket vents no longer makes me afraid of just dumping a bag of fries This is not worth selling your Ninja and buying a new Cosori. These downfalls can be easily solved by preheating, shaking or simply not overfilling. But it's nice to just set it and forget it And just a preference, I infinitely prefer cleaning the dual basket than trying to remove a hot plate from the bottom

There's a mesh basket that spans the inside, and you slide it in grooves along each side after taking out the wire toasting rack. I don't air fry much but my family says they love doing it in theirs.

I have the ninja flip. Great idea but I don’t like it. Does a poor job of air frying. Does not get things crispy. Also you can’t put things in it that are not relatively flat. And hard to clean. I’ll probably go back to the bucket kind.

I have a Ninja Foodi 10-in-1 XL Pro Air Fryer. Anyone can chime in if this is relatively low on forever chemicals? It’s an oven style air fryer, glass cover, and stainless steel (insert rows are also stainless steel). The only nonstick part is the removable baking trays which can be replaced by aluminum baking trays (eg Nordic ware). https://www.ninjakitchen.ca/products/ninja-foodi-10-in-1-xl-pro-air-fry-oven-zidDT201C

I would recommend either the Dual Zone or the FlexDrawer. We've tested very similar Ninja models and they've both performed very well and are easy to clean. I would not recommend the DoubleStack. As you mentioned, the rear placement of the fans and heating elements does lead to very uneven cooking (food closest to the back gets cooked much faster). A rating of 1670 W is very typical for North American air fryers. You mentioned that your previous model was rated for 2300 W, which means you're probably outside of North America. Most dual-basket models in the UK, Australia and Europe will draw 2300+ watts, and the added power is absolutely a benefit for cooking speed (especially for dual basket models where two chambers are cooking at once). Lastly, in my experience the plastic smell does go away after a few uses. This is common for most brands of air fryers!

We have the Ninja Foodi 9 in 1 that looks almost like a pizza oven and then folds up vertically to open up counter space. I love it. It fits a frozen pizza nicely. Ours is probably 2 years old, and we use it at least weekly, if not more often. I think they consider the new version of it as part of their "oven" line-up. It definitely has replaced us using our oven for small batches, especially with the fact that it heats up so fast because it's not huge.

The Ninja flip style air fryers are great for baking, toasting, roasting, air frying, dehydrating, and more. Takes up a bit of counter space but the flip up feature saves some space when not in use and the size is great for heating up pizzas. Why get an air fryer if you’re not going to fry things with it?

I largely disliked it, outside of the capacity. Before you read below, I'd say my wife and I used this unit moderately (i.e. regular cleaning, used 2 to 3 times a week). First of all, the screen makes a buzzing sound that is super annoying. That's a minor annoyance, but one that infuriated me more and more the longer I owned the thing and saw the other short-comings. Secondly, it doesn't air-fry all that well. It isn't bad, but if all you need is a dedicated air-fryer, well, this thing is assuredly worse than a basket air-fryer. Thirdly, this thing makes a f***ing mess. It's hard to clean, the crumb/ drip tray is a really bad design (the seams can leak food oil directly beneath the machine). I can appreciate the idea of having an outside accessible crumb pan, but in practice it is just not worth it. Fourth, the finish on the thing started peeling within one year (black coated model) and the function stickers were rubbing off within 6 months. At this price-point the function indicators 'ought to have been engraved. Fifth, it takes far longer to heat up than conventional air-fryers. Sixth, the g**d*mned light on it turns off after like 5 seconds. No adjusting it, no keeping it on, just an annoying button you have to keep pressing if you're keeping an eye on what you're cooking. After you cook with this and you get annoyed at all of the above, the softly buzzing screen incessantly reminds you that you definitely overpaid for this unit. If I had to summarize this thing: it is far far far overpriced for a machine that really doesn't do anything special that other oven-style air-fryers don't, and MOST CERTAINLY NOT justifiable at 3x the cost given the shortcomings. I replaced it with one of the flip up Ninja thingies a while ago and never looked back. No, I can't roast a whole chicken in it, but I can do everything else (pizza, toast, air fry, etc).

I agree I have two high end version of each type Dreo Chefmaker for my basket air fry needs (and combi fry) it may not have the space but the power is there. Wont get better chicken from a different one. Ninja DT250 series toaster oven style for my larger items. It 100% doesnt work the same as the basket BUT it does some things SO much better. Each has its use and cooks exclusively different things.

https://www.ninjakitchen.com/products/ninja-prestige-smart-xl-air-fryer-countertop-oven-zidDT501 This is the one I use. I bake sandwiches loaves in tin, banana breads, bagels, focaccia, pizzas, dinner rolls, cookies, and etc. I use this as my main baking oven. However you might have to decrease the temp by 25f or play around with times and temperatures with some recipes since it’s a convection oven. It only goes up to 450F too but that’s not problematic for my uses. It’s quite spacious but I’m not sure if it’s spacious enough for the Dutch oven you have. Maybe two sandwich loaf tins on top of each other might fit; but I haven’t tried that.

I think you have to define what do you actually need from airfryer. I currently use Ninja multifunction top lid because I didn’t have oven when I bought it, therefore need something big enough to bake a cake. Airfryer won’t be that different to conventional oven as well so if you have one you might not need one - and if you don’t have oven you might want to have an airfryer that serves as a countertop oven. If nothing specific comes to mind, agree with ‘less is more’ for it. The oil buildup is bound to happen anyway

I think we have the ninja foodie 10 in 1 oven thing and we've only used our real oven like twice since we got it and that was entirely because the pizza was too big. There's something great about being like "yes, cook my burrito at 400 for 29 minutes and then shut off" that makes it so useful. Well setup food and not worry at all about it being done because it always is. There's even a thermometer and a setting system to get the internal temp to a preferred temp. "Is that chicken juicy or raw? Turns out it's juicy since internal temp hit 180." Sometimes I'll add things in stages so the veggies don't cook as long as the meat or something. We also went out and got random metal trays from a thrift store so we can load small portions separately. But really being able to setup the oven and just let the timer handle it is the bees knees. The one single con is just because a roast or bird CAN fit doesn't mean it SHOULD fit. If the fan is running and fatty meat is too close to the element you can get smoke from the fat. Which could also happen in a regular oven, it's just more noticeable in an air fryer oven. So only a small family roast, no holiday roasts or turkeys.
